He is right, his gather step or "0 step" is legal under NBA rules, it has to do with when he gathers and his hand positioning on the ball. When his hand is above the ball (palming doesn't count) it's a live dribble so that initial step isn't counted hence the 0 step and then he takes his 2 steps. It may look weird but it's legal. Idk why people can't seem to understand that, they just keep harping on about "travel travel" and these people only say that cause they mad harden drop 40-50 on their head.
It's extremely important to study up on your guests. Harden has taken the rules to the court, and tweeked his game every year and ensured that just because you see him exploit the rules. He's not breaking any. DOPE playa!

The bottom line is the shoe here is awesome... especially for Harden because the pair he wears on the court/game is what they call PE; specifically made for the specific athlete and not the same shoe as what is for sale on the retail stores. Athletes needs PE to perform at their best.

Here is why, sometimes he's traveling, the dribble he does, then he steps back(sometimes hop back) then he pauses, sometimes looking at his opponent before he shoots...
GOING FORWARD: IF HE STOPPED DRIBBLING THEN STEP FORWARDS or does his jump step forward AND stopped, then PAUSES before shooting... it's TRAVELING!
LEGALLY: When a player goes forward, gathers ball and then two step jumps in the paint - there is no pause- it's a continuous motion to score. No pausing.
AND DROSE TS SUPERNATURAL was the best Adidas shoe to play in, only negative the thread wore off too quickly.
But what Harden said about moving without touching the ball, like bounce let it bounce and running 3 /4 steps between bounce pushing... that ain't traveling, but hopping backwards, then look pausing then shooting is traveling, they ain't calling it but it is.
If he does that move in the NBA Pistol Pete days, he's called for traveling. Even when it comes to 'dribbling' Pistol Pete to me, although he was tricky with his dribbling skills, is one of the NBA player's I consider that dribbles by the NBA rules of dribbling... this era- has a whole bunch of Harlem Globetrotters- carrying- air pausing with basketball.
