    Gone in 60 Seconds is one of those movies that when I come across it on TV, I always watch. Definitely a guilty pleasure.

    Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome is such an odd choice for the top spot. Unlike the first two films, automobiles feature for only about 10 minutes of the entire film, and it certainly cant be classed as a car chase film.

    • @albertgaspar627
      @albertgaspar627 Рік тому

      it should have had the entire series as a choice. BT's "problem" was it was less about the cars going down the road. It was more about Max and how far he was willing to go (Aunty Emity was basically contracting this ex-cop as a hit man). Of course, Fast and Furious is less about street racing, but obviously it still brings in the paying fans.
      The original Mad Max was probably the best "grindhouse" car chase movie of the 70's decade, and its sequel is pretty much imagined by anyone interested in what happens after WW3--most post-apocalyptic movies copy its vehicle design.

    As far as Cannonball I only watch the Countach intros on UA-cam 😆. That's all I can take. Also though the 2006 Dukes of Hazzard would be another guilty pleasure car chase movie.

      @@Kee-Von exactly! and to add David Carradine's Cannonball. More of a "prequel" to his own's Death Race than what Burt Reynolds did later on... but still one of my favorite guilty pleasures. And what a pity its soundtrack has never been released!

    This seems as good a place to ask as any. I have a memory of a film I only saw once. I'm sure it was American and I'm pretty sure it was mid to late 70's. it was the story of a travelling motor circus who went from town to town performing stunt shows, the star of which was a white Rolls Royce. I can't remember if it was even any good but I've searched and searched and can't find even the smallest reference to it anywhere. I'm beginning to think I may have dreamt it. If anyone can enlighten me I would be most appreciative!

    Thunderdome is a strange one, its not the best Mad Max film by a long way but its easily the one I 'like' to watch the most, its a bit like Jaws and Jaws 2, Jaws is a so much better film, however if there both on the telly at the same time i'd watch Jaws 2.
    Great selection of Chases!

      Cheers mate. I feel the same way about Jaws 2. For years as a kid, I remember seeing the tape we has of it, never saw the original and all I heard from my older brothers who had seen it were "stories" about it. Like how two women were swimming towards a dock and one of them got eaten. It took me years to see part 1. By then, I saw Parr 2 so many times, it was my favorite. I really like part 1 after finally seeing it, but part 2 is my ultimate guilty pleasure.

    Full disclosure, the original Death Race 2000 (1975) is my all-time favourite movie. Not my favourite car chase movie, my favourite movie.
    But I can't help but love the latest reboot, Death Race 2050. Its' chases are weak, but the over-the-top characters make it awesome.
    Keep up the awesome work.
