By far the best Star Trek series. The writing is just top notch. A perfect blend of action, long form story telling and quite moments filled with deep character development. The character gallery is unmatched in Star Trek.

Deep Space Nine is one of my most favorite Sci Fi shows alongside Babylon 5 and Farscape. DS9 to me was the peak glorious era of Star Trek before the decline it is today now. DS9 you are worthy of praise. Legendary writing just like Farscape, Babylon 5, and the Star Wars Expanded Universe.
You're right unfortunately, Star Trek is long past its golden age. There 's no vision or passion anymore, which I find very sad and heartbreaking. Not just Star Trek, but many other science fiction franchises have also lost their way.
I love the design because at first it’s strange and so distant from what you expect from the Federation that it feels alien, but just as the characters do, you start to love it and DS9 becomes this beautiful thing in the darkness that’s home.

That last scene (in both this video and in the series) where the camera moves away from the station, was the only time in the entire series that they used CGI for the station itself. All other shots of it used physical models with CGI effects for weapons, shields, ships and so on added on later.

For being exposed in utero to the "magical" radiation of the said nebula, Ka'Sul was "linked" to his surroundings (and to almost all dilithium in the galaxy...😒 ). Because of that, when he saw his mother die from radiation poisoning, the entire galaxy sufffered with The Burn.

Weyoun and Garak was where it was at. Almost all the actors on that show were phenomenal. The show is such a slow burn and that's what makes it so so good.
Fantastic video of a truly magnificent TV series and by far my favourite Star Trek series. I love all Star Trek but Deep Space Nine really was and still is something special. For a series that came out a long time ago it is still highly watched and rewatched which is a testament to its timeless quality, extraordinary writing, fantastic characters and phenomenal story which knew how to do small and nuanced as well as big and epic storytelling which all intertwined together seamlessly to a quality which bordered on art. After TNG remaster Paramount made a statement that they could not do a remaster of DS9 as it wasn't recorded with the same type of cameras and films, so the source material is just wrong. BUT, with that said, technology moved forward and there are now 4K AI Upscaled versions of Deep Space 9 that you can find on some "none official or very legal" sites. Great improvements in image quality.
Sadly the sales of the remastered TNG blue rays where dismal, so the financial backing fell away for doing the same to DS9 and Voyager. But let us hope the recent Babylon 5 remaster for streaming, might mean we will get DS9 remastered also.

Of all the series it absolutely deserves a HD remaster and the technology to do it is a lot more advanced now and not as expensive as what they used for TNG. We want DS9 HD remaster!!!!
Nice to see a Star Trek episode. And you used a fan made update of the battle scenes from Sacrifice of Angels too. The broadcast scenes were never that crisp and sharp.
One thing about DS9. As we know the Federation will end up building a new Station that is more advance than the old station. DS9 would remain. There doing its duties to the bitter end. As moving the station would be too dangerous and destroying the station would cause a lot of backlash. As DS9 is an Icon to the region. It would be logical to have two stations guarding the Worm Hole. One that IS a military Outpost and the other a trading hub and more civilian station. Though in times of war. Could easily be brought back to service and serve as a repair and supply station for war efforts in the area. Just make sure DS9 isn't bought by a Ferangi.
I really enjoyed this segment. Deep Space Nine is one of my favorite Star Trek shows. I come to believe that it is the best it's the most complex and it has the best story development ever in television. I'm going to consider being a patreon person thanks.

It really doesn't. Long form TV can do things films can't. Many of DS9's themes and plots needed time to grow and breathe. You really wanna see the entire several season arc jizzed out in two hours?

Great video. I always found it a bit odd that the Cardassian would not refine the ore on the surface instead of moving tons of rock into space and then refining it.
Also odd to keep the Cardassian leadership, and the oppressed slave workers under one roof. Easy way to get sabotage, assassination or rebellion. It would make much more sense to keep the station for management only, far from the dangers, in a clean luxurious environment.

DS9 needs to become a movie.
It really doesn't.
Long form TV can do things films can't. Many of DS9's themes and plots needed time to grow and breathe. You really wanna see the entire several season arc jizzed out in two hours?

I'd say not only foreign pressure on the Cardassians to leave Bajor, but also Bajoran freedom fighters making the Cardassians look like fools. Don't forget the brave sacrifice of the Bajoran militia to ensure a future for all Bajorans!

I don't know if anyone else noticed this but DS9 looks like a giant biohazard sign in space.
Great video. I always found it a bit odd that the Cardassian would not refine the ore on the surface instead of moving tons of rock into space and then refining it.
Also odd to keep the Cardassian leadership, and the oppressed slave workers under one roof. Easy way to get sabotage, assassination or rebellion.
It would make much more sense to keep the station for management only, far from the dangers, in a clean luxurious environment.
