Fantastic! My dad was a USAF flight instructor in the T-33 (and the later T-38) so naturally I'll get this plane. Just wish he was still here to see it fly.
Probably not my only edf is the Arrows Marlin. I will probably look at something in between for my next edf. Ill wait and hear from others to fly this and see what the general consciousness is before I decide.
@@dennisfarley6574 Good choice Dennis, this is a good looking bird and good to keep it that way. From looking at it, it doesn't look scary for flight. However it seems to cut through the air easily. Definitely master the ability to slow down an EDF before taking this on. As you pay attention, as you know, listen to those talking about the slow flight characteristics. I'm right there with you BTW. Will be flying my 80mm Havoc for the first time soon. And this having flaps, lowering those and staying in the power means a lot more time to think ahead.
@@JoshWeaverRC for those who love the cold war jets and are low time edf pilots, I would recommend the Sabre 80mm, It's a sweet easy to fly jet with no bad habits at all. The gear stance is close, and I scrape the drop tanks in a cross wind, but other than that its great plane. it is truly the most stable jet I own, and no it's not fast, but looks so cool in the air.
It wasn’t overnight, or even after a dozen flights of the T-33. It even got banished to the “Hangar of Death” for a few months. No issues, easy to takeoff, very easy to fly, no learning curve in level flight, rolls or loops. The T-33 was like…. Blah. But yesterday I took it out, four batteries worth, and noticed how I missed the perfection of this EDF. (6s 5000 70c, firewalled) It does everything well, and with ease. Of all the 64mm+ EDF’s this is, at least for me, the easiest to land on our short asphalt runway. The glide slope on approach (I’m guessing because of the straight wing) really makes landing simple. If you’re comfortable flying a 64-70mm EDF, this is the best choice to make for the jump to large scale (80mm) EDF’s.
We're there dude! Not what I was hoping for but I still love it nonetheless. Beautiful!!! I'll be getting one myself. Thank you MRC and Freewing. Truly the best in the business.
Looks like a great model to hopefully not have to take apart so I can leave it in the car and fly off grass in all sorts of locations. Great looking too.
I really like the new sprung landing gear doors that are appearing on the newer jets. Full doors look so much better. This is most likely not for me but i'm happy for all those wanting a quality foam T-33 . I can't buy everything and have just bought the AL37 so i'm kinda happy to have a break for a while until the next release.
Another winner from Motion RC! My wishlist just got longer. I'd say slow down so I can catch up, but keep up the good work Alpha, you're ensuring Motion's continued prosperity!
Super excited for this plane. I really wanted a 90 mm F105 but this was easily my second choice! Ready to hit that pre order button. I knew I made the right choice passing up the airliner.
Late to the party but excited. In your comparisons at the end 13:15 I see you have the L-39 Albatros , so do I and I love it beyond words can explain for its stable and just precise handling. You also compare it to the F-86 Sabre 80mm, my question is do you like the F-86 more than the T-33?
worked on tbirds in the airforce easy to work on great little trainer but on start up egt would go to about 750c but than would settle in about 650c.l like freewing jets my favorite one to fly is f86.
Hmm, pretty nice, it's the same size of my scratchbuilt glass T-33 with a 90mm fan. I had to use enlarged inlets and never liked the look but they've used a smaller fan and still went with an aux inlet. Ah well at least it's on the bottom. The lines look nice, though the wing is fat (really thick). Maybe I'll get one, but maybe I'll work on my 60" long version.
The quality is clearly there, just wish it wasn't a T-33 lol for those that like this plane though, I'm happy for ya!!! I'm not a fan of jets from that era.
Reminds me of how many planes look like the panther and me being at a jet event going Panther? Panther? I didn't really ask that. Just asked what the models were. Ha ha
I'm excited, mine arrived arrived today, didn't take long to put her together, thanks to your building tutorial video Bro, I'm even more excited, I was expecting the silver version as I was told by the hobby shop that I purchased from here in South Africa but to my surprise it was the cameo German version that I wanted, Yipeee!! I pre-ordered but was hoping for a F9F Panther jet instead. Maybe I can make one out of this model. maybe not. In any case, I am willing to get and fly one.
Im feeling... "back to the future". after having flown my F22, F4, F16, F18, MIRAGE2000, T45, A10, F35, A6, HAWK, L39, A4, F5, YAK130, MIG21, COBRA, SCORPION, AND SUPER VIPER..
I love freewing but I feel e flite have now taken over as the number 1 in terms of quality EDF's. 9 blade fans add to the backwards Steps freewing are taking
The 9 blade have their benefit. As James said, this could be for the not as advanced pilot. So think about it like this. You're flying your nice 12 blade and you can recommend to someone trying to get a decent flying jet this plane. The 9 blade will have a little more torque for taking off from grass with those nice landing gear. So not that FW is taking a step back, but they are taking a step to add in the side so more pilots are in the air with EDFs. All good my friend.
One thing nice about less blades is more flight time. I have old 90mm stuff with 6 blade fans on 1800KV I am getting 6 to 7 minutes on a 6s 5000mAh. My newer stuff with 12 blades, 3 or 4 passes, time to land.
E Flite are made by FMS and Freewing and FMS are pretty much Coke and Pepsi for RC jets. The real shame is there aren't more vendors making them because there would be even more options. But this inrunner rocks and the 9 blade fan helps with efficiency. And you can easily pop a 12 blade fan on it, we are all modelers at heart, wouldn't be hard. But 2020 will be a another big year with a bunch of different options coming, if this one isn't your flavor, maybe the next one will be
Horizon couldnt make a grass capable jet if their life depended on it, and their pricing outside of the USA is a joke. Their molds are beautiful for sure and FMS make a mean power system. Blade count is a poor measure of a power system - it's all about balancing the fan with motor specs and battery size.
@@wtfmimshag Not sure they've attempted to make a specifically grass capable jet yet. I have plenty of FMS jets, (who basically make e flite jets) that fly well off of grass. The new SU 30 does surprisingly well. I completely agree about e flite pricing being a crazy. That said, at least their jets look and sound the part straight out of the box. Freewing seemed to have really reined it in when it comes to scale features and even lighting systems while increasing their prices. I would have got the f22 and f18 by now if that wasn't the case. I fully understand flight performance was a major consideration in that. FMS 12 bladed inrunner fans have been notoriously brilliant in terms of efficiency and sound for years, and they come as standard. I know the Havoc was an exception though. I just love a good sounding 12 bladed inrunner. Don't get me wrong, I love Freewing and have 7 of their jets, but I do very much prefer the direction e flite/FMS are going in. Maybe the new releases will be different. I'm happy for the people who wanted this air frame though
Would it be too much too ask for a new jet with thrust vectoring. Theres plenty of the slow lethargic scaale jets to choose from. Some of us like to fly acrobatics. My su35 will rip any of these new jets

No thanks.. I will now purchase the 80mm eflight f18 hornet..
thanks for that list. there is always something on the way from us and now tons of options from lots of other vendors to be able to fly something you love. if this wasn't isn't your taste, it is for a lot of people and maybe the next one will be for you. happy flying
Jack Hawk seriously. Any vendor including MRC should cater to your wants. I already have a turbine T33 and won’t be buying this one. Buts it’s still a great plane and I appreciate anything a company puts out.
Jack Hawk, so you want ANOTHER F15 and ANOTHER F22 and ANOTHER F35 and THREE MORE F18s from Freewing and that would be fine right? But, the only T33 from them is just terrible huh? Sounds like just because it is not EXACTLY what YOU wanted, you'll just bash it for no real reason. Your argument makes zero sense about making a 70mm F15 since no one has one. Guess what......no one has a 80mm T33 either! But, there is a 64mm F15 and a 90mm F15 on the market already, go grab you one of those!
