    I just dropped my Durango with the eibach pro kit. Swapped out the rear load leveling shocks with regular ones like you stated in the video. Only thing is I’m now waiting on a front and rear camber kit because my camber is so far out after lowering it and taking it to Firestone for an alignment. Only the inner part of my tire makes contact with the road. Not a huge deal but I figured this would help someone trying to lower their Durango in the future.

    By far the best video explaining how to and what parts you need to lower a Durango. I lowered my 2016 r/t with Blackops spec-c lowering springs with my self level shocks . It looks awesome but yes exactly what you said , when I drive it raises up then when not in use it sits back down.I tried changing rear shocks but it sags low right on the tires cannot even drive it. So just ordered eibach lowering springs going with your set . Again thanks .

    • @mattburmood2991

      I was looking at doing the Swift spec r springs from black ops. Is there any other reasons why you are switching? Or is it just because it raises when you drive. Was tire wear an issue also?

      Just my personal preference, and after doing research on eibach springs, they will last the life of the vehicle so I will never have to worry about them failing. No tire wear issues whatsoever.

      Thanks Alex do the spec r fail? The question was directed more towards GreenwasteWLA36605 since he has had experience using them. Keep up the great vids. Also on side note I’m going to do ZL1 addons splitter also. I notice your sides stick out further than the fender flares. I think this might be because that is the kit for the SRT models. They have larger fenders stock.

    I hear when you add lowering springs, you should upgrade to performance-oriented shocks to match the new spring rate. This is to prevent premature wear on your shocks, as well as any “pogo effect” that may result from mismatched spring rates. Have you experienced any of that?

    • @AlexsRTLife
      @AlexsRTLife  3 роки тому +4

      Rides better than stock now. Unless your off-roading or riding pot holes consistently the shocks shouldnt prematurely wear. Also the eibach springs only drop a couple inches so there’s not a whole lot of stress on the shocks. If your dropping low enough to get outward camber that’s when now your talking camber kits and performance shocks and that good stuff.

    • @AJ-xv2xr
      @AJ-xv2xr 2 роки тому +1

      I need a camber kit after doing everything stated in the video with the exact same parts. After taking it in for an alignment the print out showed the front has 2.8 degrees of negative camber, the rear has 2.5 degrees of negative camber. I chose to order adjustable upper control arms as well as adjustable rear camber and caster arms. I understand Alex’s Durango didn’t need camber adjustments but that may not apply to everyone’s ride.

    So I used eibach with the load bearing shocks and it sucked. I went all around with swift racing sport springs and everything from suspension and down is all Trackhawk suspension. Including the cradles (diff, axles, hubs control arms etc. she rides low and stiff and corners almost as well as my hellcat. All suspension arms are black ops racing. I maintained the Load bearing shocks for when I tow my boat to the lake. I can get 21/2 fingers in rear while the front has 1 1/2 fingers. Love it and love the 3.73 gears!

      Not recommended if your going to tow. But it rides better than stock now. Also only way your going to get major premature wear is if your off- roading or something or riding over pot holes consistently. Additionally these springs only drop a couple inches so it’s not a dramatic change or stress on the mopar shocks.

    hi, i was seeing your video because today i purchased a 2016 Limited Durango and want to lower it but don´t find a video on UA-cam about lower a Limited, all videos are about R/T Durango and want to know if you know any lowering kit that could fit a Limited Durango?

      I’m not sure for the limited models, but just do a little research on the dodge forums. I’m sure there has to be some info on there for the limited model

    I removed the load leveling and all I did was bottom out every time. Just leave them on in my opinion. Especially if you ride with passengers

    • @AlexsRTLife
      @AlexsRTLife  3 роки тому

      If your bottoming out with brand new shocks something is wrong for sure. Could be install error, bad shock, or even wrong shock.
