- We take a look at our stay at the Rio park hotel in Benidorm. Our opinion is based on one 5 day visit. We think hotels can vary from time to time, food can be good one time then may not be on another visit at a different time of year. We do these vlogs in the hope people find it them useful when looking for places to stay on holiday. This is how we check places out before we book, search on UA-cam.

been so many times. nowt wrong wi that hotel at all... lovely nelson the manager always talks.. rooms ok. not too expensive either
Yes we were happy enough with it. Price was a bargain which is why we booked it!
we got back from rio park 2nd april, fantastic hotel, nice rooms, friendly staff, and great facilities. The only issue is the food. And dirty people not sanitizing their hands before entering the restaurant. 2 Massive sanitizing stations as you enter, and its laughable how many people just dont clean their hands. I'm currently writing this 21st April myself and my wife both suffering COVID again. The last time we went to RIO PARK we got covid, and the same again this year. Its horrible watching people cough into their hands and use the same hands to use the utensils before you. Overall nice hotel. but covid again has made our minds up about cooking for ourselves in an apartment when we return in september.
I’m sorry to here that. I’ve been Ill too for last 3 weeks. Not Covid though. I always put it down to picking something up on the plane

You spend more time in Benidorm than the UK 😜 Not stayed at that hotel but looks tidy enough and a great price 👍

HI guys thanks for your kind words we have stayed in the RIO 4 times and agree with your location assessment it's brilliant head out after breakfast will we turn left new town or right old town just perfect you get great deals as well most of the time as its usually July we the food is excellent our 1st April visit food was quite reduced choice wise but never failed to get something we liked and yes it was me watching the live video it was lovely to meet yous and glad you had a great break and hope to meet you again sometime for a few shandies cheers
Hey Phil. Yes lovely to meet you. I always find something I’m happy to eat 😁. I think food does vary over the year at most hotels. Hopefully be back in Benidorm soon. Definitely be there in November for our first visit to the fiesta 😎 thanks for watching

Good review, the hotel does look a lot better than it was last time i stayed there and the rooms look alot nicer. The single windows next to the balconies when i was last there, they were the single rooms and that's all you had was a window.
thanks Wayne. balconies do over look each other which isn't great but nothing is perfect. Thanks for watching.
@@cornwallandbeyondwithsmith8119 the balconies never looked safe. The best balconie s from the hotels we have stayed in is the Flamingo Oasis. I remember when we stayed at the Pelicanos, on the side facing the Ocas you would often see people pinching stuff from the balconies at the Ocas for the rooms on the lower floors.
Fantastic hotel been going for the past 10years even better after the refurbishment hope you both enjoyed rio park

We stayed in the Rio Park in March. Nice enough hotel but the food left a lot to be desired, wouldn’t stay again !!
Yes we thought the hotel was nice. Food just wasn’t as good as other hotels we have stayed at
Was in Benidorm last week and stayed in Calypso. Wasn’t impressed by the look of that food in Rio Park. Had a look in there to see if entertainment had something on which appealed to me but no
Always stay in one of Servigroup hotels and am always happy with food. Have also stayed in Presidents and found it to be a lovely hotel but a bit pricey. Enjoyed your video

I went to Rio park 50 years ago and I vowed never to return to benidorm, thankfully I haven't, Spain is a wonderful country and I've explored many places. I'll never understand why people go to the Spanish equivalent of new york
I guess it depends what people want. There are a lot of Spanish families holiday in Benidorm too.
been loads of times and going again this year ,the food was better before it was refurbed but its ok ,t but he entertainment used to be the best in benidorm but sadly in recent years it has declined due to brexit and covid,a lot of familiar faces who worked there have left todor the head barman was a great guy

Have to agree with your comments. We have been to the Rio since 1976 when we lived in UK and went for short breaks when we lived about 1 1/2 hours away for 10 years. We used to drive there. Our opinion is that it was better when it was a 2 star several years ago and Jose was the General Manager. The Rio was part of a group (not MedPlaya) where all the Hotel names began with an R. The Reymar and Riviera - now Ambassada Playa 1 and 2, the Riudor, the Regente, the Rialto and the Rosamar. We were there last June and October and the decline in quality in October was quite noticeable. The food was poor choice at dinner and quite bland. The entertainment was far far too loud to be enjoyable and the hordes of feral kids running around like demented banshees was the final straw. We have booked 2 stays at the Palm Court apartments where we went earlier this year for June,10 days, Sept/October 23 days and Queens Hotel in Old Town in November for 10 days. Feel sad to say these things about the Rio, but honestly, it is not as good by a long way from what it was before. PS Rooms excellent - bar prices - outrageously over the top for Benidorm.
@@royhardy407 what great insight and thanks for sharing. We could have stayed at the queens for £200 b&b but went half board at Rio due to the option of pool etc. it’s all about personal choice and opinion. All input welcome.
@@cornwallandbeyondwithsmith8119 Its my pleasure. I suppose we are a little bit spoilt because I can speak Spanish after working in various cities for 3 years and living there for 10 years. We DO MISS Spain to be honest - its our go to country. Enjoy your further travels and thanks for the ones you have done do far, they are really entertaining and give many folks an insight into the country you are visiting. Cheers

We did B&B as we prefer eating out plus Roman next door the food is amazing ! Benidorm is getting more and more popular isn’t it each year @@cornwallandbeyondwithsmith8119
Next time if you can afford it try the Presidente, it may be a little bit more expensive but it’s a BIG bit better. I don’t like that yellow brick road also known as muggers alley from the Rio Park down into the busy part of town where the night life is.
Yes presidente would have been my first choice if I’m honest. We avoided muggers alley on a night time.
