@@osos3867 wash it over it’s limit 10-20degrees for a little bit, than dry clean in for about 15-20min. Sometimes when it’s a great quality gi you have to do it over and over again for more time until it fits
big shrinking is not the case in most modern gis

Lol i’ve done 3 different gii sizes in the last 2 years. All these squats are going to make me move to a5. Started with a3, but had to move to a3L, because a3 was supposed to work for 6’ tall but didnt even come 1/2 way down my shins lol. And cant even pick my legs up to like 60deg in a3 anymore, so tight. So tricky to get it right hah. Kinda wish you could send in waist, butt, thigh, and leg length measurements.
My waist is 38.5”
Butt is 44.5”
Thighs are 26.5” 1/2 way down
And 42.5” hip to foot.
A4 is sold out and a4L probably be too skinny in the legs :( guess gonna try a5.
I just have a weird body. My arms are like 5’9” wingspan. T-rex. And i got thunder thighs and thunder chest. Lol if anyone ever has advice feel free to hit me up.
I'm a little worried because the gi I got (*from the place I'm about to start at it) doesn't fit but I'm only 5'1 and the instructor said that it was ok because I will lose weight" and that "its too long on me with the bigger size so I need to have the smaller one" but this one doesn't really fit at all, I don't feel confident and its very tight.

You should probably get one that fits you right and then get another one once you lose weight

what are your thoughts on wearing a judo gi for bjj, I prefer the heavier weight of the judo gi, just want to be sure I am "within the rules"
I’d suggest Judo/JJ Gis in general as they’re the only really durable ones, even if someone was doing another style.

That's a competition belt, used only to differentiate between two competitors that have the same colour belt. The competitor will usually tied that on top of his current colour belt.
