Jenn is solid in her understanding of scripture. There are many grounded teachers who explain the issues with Mike's view and I would encourage people to dig into this. I've been a Christian for 41 years. I've been in Charismatic circles. I've seen demonic activity and I've also seen the great harm done by these deliverance types. People who believe this stuff spend a long time looking for the generational curse or the demonic influence behind their issues, pain, flesh etc. What people need is discipleship, help learning how to be grounded in the word and lots of love. A born again believer cannot have a demon in their soul or body. The NT is clear that our battle is from demonic powers that attack from without. Greater is He who is in us. We have overcome by the blood of the Lamb.

Christians can be oppressed but not possessed by demons. Being saved means we are free from the bondage of sin and the devil. The Holy Spirit takes up residence inside us and can not POSSIBLY share that space with a demon.youTuber Dawn Hill from the Lovesick Scribe podcast has several excellent videos about the scriptural backing for this belief.

Jenn is great. Her theology is sound. May the God of our Lord and Savior Jesus bless her and protect her. This Mike guy… not so sure. Ananias and Sapphira along with Judas are not the best example to use for Christians can be demon possessed nor using the temple as an analogy to body soul and spirit. Paul no where makes this distinction. I sense too much extra biblical ideas coming from Mike. But lets pray for him.
I believe he's saved some people have different convictions.
I think Mike is more into the side of things that has to do with demons and things like that. Mike did not say that people can be possessed by a demon, he just said that your life in general can be there an intercessor to these creatures. I know I am a Christian and my life is messed with on into areas where, where most Christians are not being harassed at. So really you should know that you can be as messed with. I never been a medium or anything like that. But I am oppressed in areas here and.

Wow. Saying "rather than looking for a quick fix..." is so real. Because a quick fix is exactly what i was looking for in the drugs and the sex and the porn. For so long i asked God to just "take it away", but as i grew i realized there is a process to get to the promise. What good would it do for God to take away my sin just for me to return right to it like a dog to its vomit. God wanted me to become sick of my sin to the point i hated it just as much as He does. Then He could begin working on getting to the root causes of the issue. Glory to Jesus.

Jesus didn't lead people down Romans Road because he hadn't died yet. The new covenant hadn't been established yet. People could not be fully regenerated and united with God in spirit yet. Jesus cast out demons so the people could be in a mental and spiritual condition that allowed them to believe the gospel once Jesus did die and rise again.

With all due respect for the Protestant Pastor here... The difference between "deliverance" and "exorcism" is clean and clear. "Deliverance ministry" is the act of praying for a person whom is perceived to be under the influence of the diabolic. As far as "Exorcism" goes... That word describes something more specific. Usually when people use the word Exorcism, what they're referring to is what the Church calls a "Solemn Exorcism", which is a specific rite, meant to expel demons from an "energamen" (An Energamen is a person who is actually possessed by a demon or demons). "Deliverance" can be done by any Christian... an "Exorcism", in the correct sense of the word, is a VERY SPECIFIC Catholic rite, which can only be done by a bishop, or by a priest with the express permission of a bishop. In the Greek Orthodox church, they have their own rite of Exorcism, which can be performed by any priest.
That’s man made doctrine. God’s the one who delivers. We just are the means to which God operates. There is no special sauce in Catholicism it’s all God operating.

The only TRUE church, is the church that JESUS CHRIST himself set into motion when he named Simon "Peter" as the rock, upon which he would build his church. He set up the Papacy RIGHT there... Now, I will say that I believe that the Pope in office right now is illegitimate. Not only because of his radical (and dare I say Heretical) stances... but also because of the unprecedented and highly unusual way in which he ascended to the Throne of Peter. I don't mean only the "ROMAN Catholic Church", But the Roman Catholic Church, The Greek Orthodox Church, The United States old Catholic Church, and the other orthodox churches... all of which can trace their bishops, by the laying on of hands, one bishop to the next, all the way back to St Peter. The Lutheran church cannot really do that, and even if they could they're in rebellion against the truth faith.. NONE of the Protestant denominations can either... and by it's very definition, the title "Protestant", is a clear identifier that they are in open rebellion against the true church of Christ. Theres no way to get around it... to be a protestant, means you are in "Protest" against something... in this case... The Catholic Church. So while what you say is true, GOD is the only one who can deliver us FROM SIN, in order to be delivered from sin... you have to subscribe to HIS faith... that HE set up... not some knock off man made up.
Mike circles around and around to defend his theatrical deliverance ministry. He is more focused on deliverance than he is about salvation. Christians are REDEEMED and cannot be demon possessed. We can suffer demonic oppression and Spiritual warfare. Pray for Mike’s clear understanding and that he would use his influence to win souls for the kingdom and stop focusing on the devil and point people to Christ.

I get really bad vibes off of Mike. The problem with his sort of ministry is he becomes the authority on what is a demon or not when he really can’t see anything.
God does give people discernment on that. That's biblical. I have it but I don't think a demon is behind every corner or every problem.

Sorry but demons have no power. And whoever believes they have gives them that power over themselves. Demons are idols. To think you can deliver someone is vain and selfish. God alone delivers, and he sees demons as nil Resistance, obstacle or even just worthy opponent. He laughs at demons.

How can you not think that anyone tried to influence the Bible by choosing Canon and to exclude certain books- as well as translations? This doesn’t mean that wisdom and Spirit can help us see through this- but I still think there is so much written in there that can be misinterpreted leading us not to think and to be docile servants not questioning those above us.
Reading these comments make me so sad. I’ve heard it said that the Christian church is the only battlefield where fellow soldiers turn on one another, and it’s so true. This is not a contest between Mike and Jen, they both got saved and they’re both going hard after God.

Discernment means that we determine what is true based on what God says. If someone says things that are not in keeping with God's word then they must be called out to keep people in obedience to God.

If a demon is possessing or someone…isn’t God actively allowing that?
Two suggestions to help you understand how God lets things happen… given that He gave mankind dominion over the Earth and everything in it [Genesis 1:28] and then, The Snake got mankind to submit to his seditious words… God’s redemption was won for us all within The Snake’s kingdom.

Demons inside means part of your mindset and ways of thinking and believing. Do people not understand that these outer courts inner courts, demons , etc etc are clearly analogies for anyone who is ready to receive (hopefully mentally older than 5) to receive? If you can’t understand a parable, if your mind can’t draw metaphor, etc, …. Maybe those who want to hear…..ready to hear, can actually hear in a way that is relevant and not just a picture unrelated to them.

Im pleased that Jenn has found peace. However, evil can find any avenue to operate through. Even a Christian one. There are dangers that can occur in any spiritual path. I know a spiritualist, and I think they would say that your motivation is key. As is your training and preparation. Quite a few people go into spiritual paths already damaged and in psychological pain; self knowledge, healing and humility are essential (humility is the Queen of virtues to cultivate). If your path is not leading you to be wiser, kinder, loving and more peaceful then you are wasting your time!
The point is to glorify the Saviour and Redeemer from the power of sin and death. You really don’t need wisdom, kindness, love and peace without Him, no matter how ‘good’ they may seem.

"Deliverance is a Christian concept - exorcism is a Catholic concept." - is this a correct observation, Billy? Mike? My problem here is that the Roman Rituals of exorcism is full of pagan concepts...like using demons to cast out demons.
I really appreciate the comment you made about “using demons to cast out demons”. It reminded me of a former co worker who said she practices Catholicism & always dons a Mother Theresa shirt but dabbles in astrology & to my surprise shared with me that her mother was a gifted pianist who practiced divination such as automatic writing but that her family, including herself, felt that such automatic writing was of the devil and decided to contact someone to perform an exorcism to drive out the demons from her mom. She went on to say that such persons were not available for her mother-their schedules were booked out SO the family decided to seek out a Santeria Priest or Priestess to do the exorcism! I could not believe my ears! She went on to say that after the exorcism, the mother lost her ability to play the piano, so this made her believe that her mother was actually “channeling” thru a demon when she played. 🤔

Catholicism is very compatible and aligned (more like "plug & play") with all pagan religions because of it's "multi-faceted" fundamentals - one of which Gnosticism occupies a special place. That's why even Theosophical and Oriental beliefs are like legos that can be attached without contradiction. Occults, spiritualism, and druidic rites are pretty much relatives that may be accommodated anytime, twice on Sundays.

You folks are missing some of the picture. In th OT, folks were not indewelt by the Spirit. Technically, the Gospels are still running on OT rule. Judas could be possessed because he was not indwelt. In the church age, the Spirit dwells in us, and we cannot be indwelt with a demon. In Acts 5, the man was not possessed, he was influenced.
The occult is in many religious groups.

The Catholic Church is not biblical. The veneration of the pope a absolvetion of sins by bishops and priests and prayers to saints and dead relatives, and purgatory practices are full of idolatry. How can you even used their practices as an example to follow? At least, clarify the differences of deliverance and exorcism in the spiritual realm?.

Since Strong's definition for salvation includes deliverance then if we aren't delivered we aren't saved. Saved from what? Hell? NO! We're saved from sin that leads to death for the wages of sin is.death.The question then becomes are we once saved always saved? And the answer to that is we're saved by grace through faith and we can stop putting our faith in Christ. Believers are believers as long as we believe.
If you need deliverance you'll know this is real! But you must be very careful who you allow to 'minister' to you, as not all are genuine Christians, and some are up to all kinds. For example one 'pastor' who did 'deliverance ministry' turned out to be a Child Trafficker, as well as other things. And what I had thought were 'deliverance' were mere manifestations which we didn't get free from. So, basically, he was playing at this, for financial gain and fame.
Be very careful who you allow to 'lay hands' on you. One 'pastor' put me into a trance. Not good.
I'm no expert, but I'd suggest you pray and seek genuine deliverance when you're ready.
And remember, although it can be very noisy and dramatic, it isn't always. It can happen very naturally, without all the fuss and fanfare. And remember - the Lord Jesus Christ is ALWAYS in control. ❤️❤️❤️

Many people involved in the New Age, witchcraft, Satanism, ghost hunting, etc. will admit that they deal with demons (at first they call them by other names, but eventually many realize who these entities really are). Try talking to some of them (I’m sure they won’t quote from that “favorite book” you mentioned 🙂). Actually, some famous people such as those in the music industry will talk openly about these things. Their comments are probably not taken seriously by many people or don’t make sense to them, but one just has to tune in to understand that they’re actually talking about demons.
Judas was not saved. Nobody was saved pre-cross in the same way as we are post-cross. That example doesn't work.

You are making the distinction between a Christian and a not Christian, but that is based on a once saved always saved theory. The distinction that must be made is a baptized Christian that is in the state of grace and who has not grieved the Holy Spirit through serious sin or works of the flesh that prevent one from entrance into heaven if one makes a practice of these, since whoever makes a practice of sin is of the devil. The protected, the righteous, are those who are a member of Christ’s mystical body and therefore the church, who worship in spirit and truth by virtue of the indwelling presence of the Trinity. The bottom line is God uses, allows, demons to torment us as part of our purification, no different than temptation. We can through baptism become members of Christ’s body, and then through fornication or some other sin, fall from grace, and without repentance, one is no longer in a state of grace. What protestants forget or discount is Jesus gave power to his followers to forgive sins, and much like the eucharist which makes us members of his body in a different way than baptism, the sacrament of penance forgives mortal and venial sins, that is sins that kill the divine life within by evicting it or sins that merely wound that relationship which every sin does. Otherwise, the show is great and you are all insightful. Thank You!

Ghosts, demons, talking animals, wizards, magic potions, spells, angels, people rising up from the graves, sometimes hundreds at a time… I get that these things are in the bible and so you believe them but to me it just sounds like a fairy tale story.
I get what your saying, but look up James Lindsay's videos on gnostism. He runs through the history of these things and pulls quotes from a lot of books to show what can only be described as witchcraft. James clearly doesn't believe in the supernatural so he reads it all from the perspective of the psychological. But that allows him to describe the mechanics behind a spell the same way you would describe a magic trick. So it doesn't really matter if it is real. Because there are people that believe that it is and are using what they would consider spells to manipulate culture.

Okay. For one, you made it sound like the Pharasees didn't think they needed Jesus because they weren't demon oppressed/sinful enough. You should read what Jesus himself said about them. They were hypocrites with hearts that only wanted worldly things, not godly things. You are so committed to your hyper Charismatic theology, you read all of the Bible through that distorted lense.

I agree with pastor mike, christains can be demon possessed even though they might be born again. This is particularly true for Christians that was exposed through ritualistic dedications to some deities at infant by their parents and therefore got possessed. Some possessed christians are often ignorant of their possession, because they can't on their own remember ever opening a door way for demons. People like these will struggle with some kind of sin that even with their best efforts and prayer can't overcome, in such cases deliverance is the best option.
Lots of Christians are possessed by the Cookie Monster without knowing it! Oh and the tooth faerie too
