As an American, that is a very good thing. If competition between companies is great for consumers, competition between countries is great for people. Russia's immigration program for responsible people is far better than the US program of uncontrolled borders.

@@douglasrowland9986 I agree. Even Trump is caught in the desperation of preserving the US dollar regime - and his method is, he says, to stabilise all the major US relations in peaceful coorporation.
But, the US dollar empire is built on dominance, repression and violent behavior. So how, mista Trump?

Finally, somebody that had enough balls to stand up to the US government for blatant hypocrisy. US government claims to be only interested in promoting democracy. Yeah, right and I was born yesterday.
Actually, I do not care less how democratic a government is. The only question is how it performs for its people. If it treats them well, respects them and does not hinder their freedoms and is not wasteful, who cares if it is a democracy, an empire or something else.

@@douglasrowland9986 To some extend I agree, but usually people thrive the most if they have genuine influence in their society and being respected and cared for on basic needs. Democracy actually is another ballgame than most western countries practise - and inequality is poison for democracy.

Nobody of merit believes that was ever possible or could occur. The areas bordering Sumy, such as Kursk, were long ago deactivated areas of the war during the Istanbul peace talks when the Russians withdrew from all those areas. Conventional combat and war had not really existed in these areas since then. For ordinary Russians, the Kursk fiasco will instill a greater desire for this war to be fought with the gloves off and nothing held back. For the state to enter into a formal declaration of war.

Just to remind how all things escalated
First come Budapest Memorandum on Security Assurances from 1994
    then we have
Treaty on Friendship, Cooperation and Partnership between Ukraine and the Russian
    Federation. Kiev, 31 May 1997
    Article 6
Each High Contracting Party shall refrain from participating in, or supporting, any actions
directed against the other High Contracting Party, (VERY IMPORTANT PART --->) and shall not conclude any treaties with third
countries against the other Party. Neither Party shall allow its territory to be used to the detriment
of the security of the other Party.
    Article 10
Each High Contracting Party shall guarantee nationals of the other Party rights and freedoms
on the same basis and to the same extent as their own citizens .....
    Article 11
The High Contracting Parties shall, in their territory, take the necessary measures, including
the adoption of appropriate legislative acts, to prevent and suppress any activities that constitute an
incitement to violence or violence against individuals or groups of citizens, based on national,
    racial, ethnic or religious intolerance.
    Article 12
The High Contracting Parties shall protect the ethnic, cultural, linguistic and religious
diversity of ethnic minorities in their territory and shall create conditions that encourage such
    diversity...
    ... and so on ...
    few moments later
    Bucharest Summit Declaration
Issued by the Heads of State and Government participating in the meeting of the North Atlantic Council in Bucharest on 3 April 2008
    23. NATO welcomes Ukraine’s and Georgia’s Euro-Atlantic aspirations for membership in NATO.
(VERY IMPORTANT PART --->) We agreed today that these countries WILL BECOME members of NATO.
    then come 2014
    and the rest is history

I love you for critical thinking, questioning their narrative, trying to uncover what lies behind the things they tell us. Tell us why things are moving at this slow pace towards Hirnyk, Zhelanne Pershe and Zhelanne Druhe. If AFU are retreating westwards from the big cauldron, would YOU not expect to see some drone activity there? Tell us your best guess about Lysivka, are RF going to put boots on the ground there?

AFU has probably taken away most units from Ugledar, leaving just snipers to delay the RF. Those they would probably put in the high rise buildings of the mine, not in the pit. In any case, the point is NOT about who puts flags but to gauge the level of AFU resources involved in the the fights in the outskirts, in order to guess the fight AFU will put for Ugledar proper.
