- Millions of tons of annual agricultural trade is now being conducted outside the US dollar, and within the new BRICS framework.
This represents a tectonic shift in global finance, as the dominant trading hubs of New York, Chicago, and London are replaced by a multipolar system of bilateral trades using national currencies and non-USD-denominated pricing and contracts.
The already huge volumes of trade in ag, energy, and raw materials are destroying price discovery in global markets. Decisionmakers and executives in Western companies are unable to see markets, nor can they know what parties are driving demand, nor which suppliers are emerging to meet that demand. Our senior-level business managers and planners are flying blind, and only after realizing giant losses we learn that we are now suppliers only of last resort: the BRICS countries and their allied countries across the world are producing and trading at prices far below our cost of production.

Speaking as an American, it’s time for the US to make an honest living without relying on unfair practices and advantages. As a South African I am thrilled about this development. Our currency is weak against the US dollar but not against other currencies of BRICS countries. Direct trading outside of western systems and US dollar denominated trade is far more beneficial for us and will help our economy to improve.

U.S. companies have always embraced more of global model where they establish production domestically in countries rather than foolishly depending on exports like China . But then USA doesn’t have 1.4 billion people to employ and feed. USA being much wealthier than China and not dependent on exports can take China to the mat in a trade war. Brics is a joke as use of usd have actually increased and by value 90% of transaction are still in usd.

And remember wheat isn’t even biggest crop for USA. Fruits and nuts are the big sellers . No one comes close to number of almonds and other nuts grown in USA. USA produces 85% of world’s almonds. When corn market was impacted by brazils large crop of corn U.S. corn growers sold to ethanol refineries across the USA and then USA exported billions of ethanol .
This isn't just about grains. Soon, oil and gold will be priced outside of the dollar system. BRICS will ascend while the US and EU will be playing catch-up. This is beyond regimes and administrations. We are looking at a sea-change in the way people look at these commodities. We should be calling them essentials, to differentiate them from the financial instruments that the West is so proud of.
If USD is going down then US still got bitcoin and the 1 million plus different cryptocurrencies, any countries got any of them please move them out of US banks and US institutions and put them into your country's banks or institutions just like USD so US can't sanction and ban you.

Honestly, most BRICS countries do not really like each other. China's maps annex Russia, India and China had to disarm their border troops so they didn't start a war, and they still managed to kill each other's troops. Brazil is mostly far enough away that there's no major issues. The countries are not a joke, but most of them see their fellow BRICS members, as more of a threat than the US. Ironically, they know that most of what is stopping all of them from going to war with each other is the US.

He's former US military, US Air Force for several years I think. He used to work as a portfolio manager for a very prestigious Wall Street financial firm. He's a devout Christian who early in his channel said China is winning because of an increasing # of Christians there. He hasn't mentioned Christianity since and just stuck to the facts except at the end of the videos where you can barely hear Christian prayers in the background audio. I believe he is an American patriot who doesn't believe Russia or China are our enemies. After decades of desertification control efforts, China is now able to grow rice and other crops in large tracts of desert.

Not sure about rice, since it's one of the more demanding crops irt water, but they do plant other crops, as well as do animal husbandry in those former deserts. It's possible that this frees up better farmland elsewhere, which then could indeed be used for more demanding crops.
Lots of fruits and veggies that don't consume large amonts of water. The fact is that china is now a massive food producer and a net food exporter. I'm a westerner in SE Asia and a very significant portion of all the produce in grocery stores in this region come from China now.

US has been manipulated the crop prices for years. And then use taxpayers to subsidize the farmers. Farmers may not even be the right words. They are more like corporation. It is because we control the global market. We can always sell more than we grow. Nowadays we grow more than we can sell because we have been upsetting some of our biggest customers telling them what they can do and what they can't do against their own interests. Instead these farmers have to figure out which crop is more profitable. And feeding ourselves instead of trying to make more profit. But then that would mean helping average people instead of helping the top 2% profit margins.
Aye, the USDA and their fake "yield forecasts". How did the USDA get the "data" for their "yield forecasts"? They drove by a couple of fields and said "Hey! Looks like we might have more grain this year!". And farmers are just like the semi-private utility companies. They get state subsidized but also not under government audit.

The cost of production of anything produced in the US and the west are calculated in USD.Raw materials and labor are many times higher than other countries.That is the reason why their companies shift their factories to cheaper countries where possible.But for agri production they cant otherwise farmers will have no work.Poorer countries should trade among themselves using own currency and pricing instead of USD and follow US made rules.

Having lived in “developed” and “underdeveloped” (or more accurately “over-exploited”) countries, it amazes me how Western countries keep perpetuating the myth that the global south just has to work harder, eradicate corruption, encourage “free trade”, and rid themselves of “old ways that hold them back”. The truth is, that without ongoing neo-colonialism, the western countries, particularly the USA, will crumble. The poor people of the world cannot keep sustaining the levels of excess the wealthy countries enjoy.
It's a big reason why I'm avoiding American food brands who have jacked up their prices here in Asia. There's no justification for it other than corporate greed. MNCs like McDonalds, Pepsi Co and so on think they can get away with it but are seeing the financial blowback. Don't they know we have much better food in this region?
They think they can still sell their stuff with enough marketing / propaganda / lies. It seems to have worked well enough thus far. It won't last much longer though, I think.

Here in the mid-west, surrounded by farmers who are friends, the painful drip of deflation has gripped everything they touch. Nobody made money this year as they watched inflation at the supermarket and deflation in every commodity. BRICS has been empowered by the RUS sanctions in a way that Yellen et. al. never saw coming.

I am not knowledgable nor more informative than Kevin but several years ago, I had been suggesting countries like China shud stopped / sold off as much of its holding of US treasury debts as possible. Including converting at least 75% of its massive foreign reserves from USD to a basket of foreign currencies and gold. In short, to diversify as much as possible from using dollar & US controlled banking system. Becoz I had watched with disgust how the US has been using its powerful financial system to blatantly bully smaller & weaker countries all over the world. I am glad the Ukraine war and subsequent sanctioning of Russia & vile "robbing" of hundreds of billion $$ of Russian assets that are held abroad turned out to be the straw that broke the camel's back. It finally made countries all over the world to wake up & realized they are always at risk from the US & its gang of bullies.

China with its 1.4 billion people to feed is the biggest buyer of agricultural products and she is buying them from other countries simply because they are cheaper than the American products. We had the technology far long ago. The problem was the US political interference. Now, china has a lot of political power too and we got, at least temporally, freedom from US political crimes. I hope that this trend continues.
Why is China cancelling US wheat? China has three harvests a year and that means with access to Russian fertiliser they have had a bumper harvest. Plus China has been clamping down on food waste at all levels. They are also building a water supply from Tibet to Xinjiang which will boost production of crops there significantly.
The creation of a new series of exchanges that allows better information across the rest of the world means they are not involved with a rigged market in Chicago with the fees involved. Long term look for lower profits from western financial companies, as they are simply locked out of the new markets.
