It's so nice that they have James on for a massive, glamorous meal like this! It's like treating him while he's back, rather than putting him to work.😂
Barry's comment at 16:58 about liking this type of kit 'cause they all have kids now makes you realise how far they've travelled in the 14 years they've been going. No longer a bunch of spotty students trying to eat well but cheaply.
When Baz ate his bread and Mike was like wtf?! Thats me at a friend’s house or dinner with friends. I wait for everyone to get their food before I eat.
This is easily the best DIY box you have done (as it probably should be), not only because the food is fantastic, but because it encapsulates what I think Michelin star restaurants should be showcasing: Locally sourced, seasonal food prepared with skill and appreciation for the ingredients.
James is wonderful. I love how they're not together for months, and then they're back together, and it's like no time has passed. Wish he could come back permanently because this epic group is absolutely amazing.
Couldn't agree more! It's the true friendship and trying really hard to make quality, useful, positive-change videos that makes me love this channel so much! It all just wouldn't work if they didn't really, genuinely care about each other.

Mike's "I don't leave my house anymore" at 17:05 is such a mood. He really justified how priceless (for a parent) this DIY Food Kit experience really would be at home with such a simple yet meaningful line.
Love this video. The banter between the boys is everything. And there's a lot less sass from James cuz he's not cooking anything with the normals, just cooking up pre-made Michelin star-level food. Just critique of Jamie's plating. So fun to watch this! It's also amazing just how many videos y'all managed to get in like the two days James came back. Y'all have an incredible team to be able to prep and put these videos out so quickly! Great vid guys!
Baz sounding like he was having a stroke while he ate that fudge. 😂 What a great video!! I would LOVE to try that kit! It all looked so delicious. I love these type of videos. So good to have James back.
I was so thrilled to see another James video that I forgot about commenting. Rewatching on loop for the second time and have to say, I love how affectionate they all are with each other- their friendship really shines through but also it is so refreshing to see guys display genuine platonic affection. while also ribbing each at every opportunity! Cheers for the SORTED team being the complete opposite of toxic masculinity.
I think for a couple with young kids, this would be good. Also, an older couple that doesn't necessarily want to brave restaurants but wants that special option this would work great. Or even just for a fun little date night. Barry was in class form today lol 🙂
James is so much more chill than before he took his break. Sorry whatever he tried didn’t work out but good to see him back. Looking forward to cook offs between him and Kush.
I really like the way they are thinking about how things could be improved for a home cook following the instructions and not just raving about every single thing just cos it came from a Michelin-starred restaurant ❤ having said that, this looks like an amazing meal kit that I’ll never be able to enjoy as I’m outside of the UK 😢
I love seeing James in videos again. He just seems to bring out the little happiness in all the normals (and us too) so the vids with James and his deadpan sarcastic sense of humour are just everything.
There were so many great moments in this video; Barry scoffing everything like a naughty hungry child, Jamie smiling saying how happy he is, Mike gently asking Barry if he was okay twice. What a lovely friendship they have - so beautiful to witness ❤
I love all of you guys at Sorted Food, but I love seeing James back! I hope he is in more, or even better, is coming back! I had this kit pegged at £175, and even though at £135 it was much cheaper than i thought, i feel it is worth it. For those that dont like fish, you have the charcuterie board. And that beef Wellington could easily feed four (I'd be more than happy with the crusty end 😂) im not one who would go for an expensive meal kit, but get 4 friends, and it is more than enough, and looks absolutely delicious!
I love these sorts of videos where it feels like a bunch of friends having a good time. It's what got me watching during covid when I had to shield (I'm disabled) and was lonely and depressed.
I like that this is a genuine review, praising this incredible box but also pointing out little things they’d notice and change like the order of cooking or how the instructions don’t match the picture
This felt comfortable and satisfying. I think more videos like this would be nice, I love the panic Pass it On creates but I think it's nice to see everybody having a good time just as often
Had a salad for supper but now I’ve got to get a little more! I’m drooling! Fun to see James! Hope Ben is having a good time! Hope Kush is enjoying his family time!!

Yes, he's the perfect foil for the usually hyperventilating normals. I'm guessing he'll be appearing more while Kush is aay on paternity leave and Ben's holidaying. I hope it continues even after Ben and Kush get back.
When Jamie said “I’m glad you can’t see under this worktop” I nearly spat out my drink with laughter. Thanks a bunch for that imagery, Jamie, thanks a f**king bunch 😬😂

Barry hit the nail on the head! When you have young kids but want to eat something fancy that might not travel well, cooking a kit from a restaurant like this could be such a nice evening in. Also poor Mike! Been there love, hang in there! I’ve heard we get to leave the house when the kids are older
I was drooling throughout and laughing , but I think this Michelin star kit was sent to the perfect folks.. you’ve given them great tips to perhaps for restaurant to edit or even make it easier for “ normal cooks at home” always a high point of our day with you guys ❤❤
Looks amazing, a lot of £s but I'd say way worth it as a once a while massive treat 😋 James so good to see you back again, I really hope this is a permanent return! Great video Guys and all of the Sorted team! Much ❤
Great episode guys! James looks so happy, I’m glad he’s back this year. My Swiss-French friend once said their Sunday lunches lasted 4 hours; courses were cooked one after another. If you eat that way it makes sense to have a gap between starters and the Beef Wellington.
Seasonal has taken the place of organic in just a word to charge you more. Greenhouse technology and vertical farming means everything is in season. They do that in the Sonoran desert in Arizona.
Greenhouses aren't free - both water and electricity cost money. If you own land in a place with a favorable climate, you don't have to pay for artificial UV light and you don't need to pay (as much) for water. If that land is in a place with low labor costs, you can sell your produce cheaper than somebody who is paying for water, electricity, greenhouse upkeep, and whatever is considered a liveable wage in your country, even if you have to pay for international shipping. Also, not everything is suitable for greenhouse growing - I'm from Iceland and we're practically covered in greenhouses, our labor costs are high but we have cheap electricity for the lights, we have plenty of water, we have geothermal heat (that seems tautological) and we still end up importing potatoes (often from Denmark or France, which don't have low labor costs at all). Every fall there is much rejoicing when new potato season comes around. If we could harvest potatoes reliably and economically all year round by using greenhouses, I feel like we would have done so by now. As it stands it is clearly better or cheaper to import them from areas with lots of land and a favorable climate rather than try to grow them in limited space with an artificial climate.
May I ask you to do a 3 part series about poverty food? More if you want, I'm only asking for 3. You do so many fancy foods, but most of us can't afford those. Other channels have covered hardtack/ship biscuit, gruel, and others from the USA side. I would like to hear it from the British side. Old or new, your choice. Cook food for the poor.

So a kit like this looks like it is meant to impress a single person of a couple and it seems to do that well. It doesn't seem to interfere with conversation (I was expecting 7 courses to at least require more time away which would ruin the evening). If the food is as delicious as they say, I would count that as an excellent date splurge or even a date night for an established couple.
Fellas you did a great job.. The quality of the products that were showcased !! I have no words to explain my sheer satisfaction in viewing this.. Amazing!!! Lochness Scottish Highlands...
That's an extraordinarily fancy version of a potato and onion pie which is something I make in very lean times. This has inspired me to try smaller ones for company 😊
Just the foil shield would do. Same for anything you're baking, if it starts to look done on top while the middle is raw the foil will help stop browning.
After watching an Alex video where he went to a premium butter factory, I have a newfound respect for high quality butters like what was most likely included in that charcuterie meal. Jamie's confident plating was spot-on lol.
At this point James is like the fun uncle come to watch the kids while the dads are on vacation and I love it

Yes, I had the same thought!
Mike being the presenter/host/all round professional. Contrasted to Barry just constantly shoving food in his mouth. Brilliant work!
Mike is my favorite one to host these, honestly!
When Baz ate his bread and Mike was like wtf?! Thats me at a friend’s house or dinner with friends. I wait for everyone to get their food before I eat.
More james videos?! Very happy he's back so often! Mike reflects my mood perfectly!😊😊😊😊

James is wonderful. I love how they're not together for months, and then they're back together, and it's like no time has passed. Wish he could come back permanently because this epic group is absolutely amazing.
It feels like Kush and Ben are on vacation and asked Uncle James to babysit the kids while they're away.
Barry scarfing everything down is wonderful and the best visual recommendation the product could have!
Barry shoving 3 oz of beef wellington in his mouth and hoping the cameras didn't catch it had me giggling
