Cole Porter was a genius. Both he and George Gershwin are and will continue to be remembered as the best of what America has gifted to the world.
The music AND lyrics are so well matched. He had to be some kinda lover...
Two of the greatest artistic trio of all time...don't forget Irving Berlin. Agree though, Gershwin and Porter are sheer class. I can see Ginger and her Freddie swaying to this - wonderful - thanks for posting this to UA-cam.

As a trombone player, I am reluctant to make this compliment, but the horn section is awesome! The entire orchestra sounds wonderful. A very tasteful arrangement performed well.

Their sound shades evoke living rooms with elegant people, learned males conversing of family and of business, late sunny with scent to coffee and rich food.

The best orchestral arrangement of Cole Porter's music I've ever heard was the background music to the Peter Ustinov version of Agatha Christie's Evil Under the Sun. The whole film was saturated with it and it was absolutely perfect. I can't say I'm too keen on the Latin slant of this version.

Unfortunately, I only speak English so I can't really reply.
Much better than blazoned orchestras.
I still think that the "Gary Grant" version of the film night and Day is the best version. The modesty, the choir ... beautiful. This version is also good but too fast and too rhythmic. It lacks feeling.
Remember these are show tunes. This is nice.....but missing something......?
