I have spent countless hours over the past few weeks searching for some of this information and here it is! Your videos and website have been so much help with my build. (1997 chevy k1500 om606 mechanical 7.7mm with holset hx 35)
Your content presentation is exceptional! I’ve seen paid online content that doesn’t come close to this level of detail, logic and flow. Well done and thank you.
Informative, humorous & only slightly sarcastic. Been watching a few vids of yours & would like to thank you for letting me into your workshop. Having recently had my own beloved ZD30 decide to retire itself, I have been looking at quite a few options. What drew my attention instantly was the clean design of the whole setup with the big intake plenum sitting there contrasting with the yellow. Then I saw the beautiful engineering of the pump and it’s so much more impressive that it’s a mechanical system. I have no clue if I can do this in Aus with emission and registration regulations, but I would like to explore the option. I will be augmenting an already capable touring platform with what looks to be a rock solid mechanical system will provide exactly what I am after for very remote touring & exploration.
606 in my '98 only has one hose coming off under the intake, goes over to electric? boost actuator near the throttle bellcrank forward of the firewall. Wish it didn't have the fuel heater or fuel shutoff, too many spots for air to be introduced into fuel lines, a problem which I am chasing now. Great videos, btw.
Is it an electronically controlled solenoid that sends vacuum to the vacuum stop actuator? If yes why not only have an actuator that stops/let go when power to it cuts? In my head its more safety and less stuff to go bad🤔
Arrogant a... no just kidding, i love your chanel ❤ Talking about the child, you want to hide - i have a Puch G290D with n/a OM602, i would like to hear something about the hidden child from you 😂
So do these mechanical fuel pumps not require an additional electric fuel pump in the gas tank to help supply the engine? If not, what do you suggest I do with the existing fuel pump inside the tank?
Car companies rely on parts sales more than everyone realizes because of the items they choose to engineer timed failure into if they actually lasted forever they'd be out of business
Nice video and enjoyed the tongue in comments. In the colonies we have a catchy phrase. “Let’s go Brandon” 😂😂 It sounds harmless, but says it all in a nice way.
I have a question, Why always OM606 and never OM648 ? Im thinking on a OM606 PATROl but , The OM648 has caught my attention because of part availability, Also maybe newer platform ? Would love to hear your take on this. Cheers from Panama
Perhaps you should make a statement at the begining of all your videos saying something along the lines of " I promise I'm not slagging off any other companies with any statements I may make about their shitty components" & flash up a small sentence briefly everytime you do mention other companies inferior shit . 😂
Why on earth would you hide an early analog OM606 in a cubboard? The NA 606 is a jewel of an engine and just because it doesn’t have a stress induced turbo doesn’t make it any less that the later semi analog 606’s. You lost me there and therefore unsubscribed.
@@Diesel8290 I drove one for like six or seven years it's so slow that it's dangerous everyone will pass you at the green light and you could not merge on the highway the car weighs for 5,000 lb but only has 134 horsepower
Love how you throwing shade but in the most respectful way! Awesome video

Nice work mate. It’s so good to see you doing more videos again. Just love watching them

This engine looks and is a museum art piece, so beautiful
More vedeos please. I enjoy watching you every time.
I fell in love with the 617 here in the states. I like this channel its entertaining and informative. I miss my benzes.
Good to see you. Bought a om606.

British man in a shed does what he always has...does better engineering than multi billion dollar company 😁
Do you know why most of the British are such good mechanics ? .....They had Landrover

Thank a lot for the info we all appreciate you time, top man 👍🏼
i dont have a 606 but always really enjoy your vids, who knows, maybe one day i will have a 606, cheers
Please do a video on how to maintain a om606 and make them last forever 🙏
Change the oil and filters regularly and don’t introduce any water into the fuel.
Excellent despite occasional digression unrelated to the subject under discussion
Good vid luke. I hate that fred thinks its necessary to slag you guys off.
A thousand years in the future? OM617. You're welcome.
I quite like my OM 606 na non EDC engine thank you very much! good vid

How about swapping in a OM606 into a Trawler to replace the 120hp Ford Lehman?
Simply brilliant
dear luke thanks for teaching all us morons how a 606 actually works now and in the future lol xx
Do you do any work on the om605 engines or just the om606
Good explanation..........however will the video last that long.!
would it make sense to put a new pump on a om606 without a turbo with 100kW / 136 hp?
In others words mine are the dogs, the bees knees...so to speak....and it looks new than a new one.
Hi, are you able to supply OM606 engines, I’m looking to start a project. Thanks in advance for your time.
What year model use the manual fuel pump and what is the part number of the pump
I agree. The none turbo IS the red headed step child 🤣🤣🤣
Will it fit in a 2012 c250 coupe body?
Another question is. Will it run on another planet let’s say like mars? Exoplanet like gliese if taken there?
Hi , how many for this motor ? Am from france
What a beauty!
Göran "dieselmeken" is an really nice dude.
Now days he wieght compensate mopeds 😆😆👍
Do you build VM Motori engines as well?
Any chance of explaining how the vacume shut of works with your vaume selonoid that you sell thanks
It’s in the patrol build video
Could these engine's be marinised for ma boat?
Is the om606 an interference engine?
Do you ship to California ????
Has Anybody compound turbo charged this engine?

Perfect!

What cc are stock 606 injectors?
The injectors have 135 bar pop pressure and they're not restrictive. The pump dictates the cc of fuel that's injected
No elr/ara on back of the pump? Is this rs156? Can you disable elr and ara on the rs203?
1000 years in the future they don't make Diesel anymore.
Hopefully still have fry oil. I dont want to think about no fried food.
Keeping edc ftw
Hi. I would like to suggest something. Could u do manual increase of the diesel dose to do rolling coal?
No, that's not how it works unless you can figure out a way to move the ALDA at the press of a button
Have you got an email address where I can contact you directly. I am interested in one of these engines and would like to get a quote from you please.
Hi all from 3023 !

Because it’s slow, the whole thing around 606’s is the petrol like characteristics lol
So slow very slow
