Day 110 & 111 we BIG days in many ways. First, Lelo (Mom) got slack-packed by our Trail Angel, Andrea, and we hiked almost 25 miles. The next day we hiked another 23 miles, so almost 50 miles in two days. We also summited a couple of mountains, AND surpassed 1,400 miles hiked on the A.T.! And last but not least, we finally got to call our family and wish my brother Garrit a very happy birthday! Gotta make time for family!
Follow along with us as we southbound thru-hike all 2,194 miles of the Appalachian Trail from Maine to Georgia to raise money for Parkinson's Disease Research!!

I've been able to watch your videos as they came out and continue to send prayers for a safe journey your way. Now time to catch up with my comments to you :)
Ladies you continue to do great miles despite anything the trail has thrown your way, so inspirational :)
It is lovely that the leaves have dropped their leaves and you can see some of that amazing scenery, on the other hand it can make for slippery trails with a bit of rain. Beautiful lunch spot.
Hope the daylight saving change did not disturb your hiking too much. We don't have that up here where I live, Day Light savings is not designed for tropical regions and any polls we have had reflected the feeling. We like to get things done in the cool of the mornings before the heat of the day really kicks in, who wants to be cooking in the kitchen in the latter heat.
Happy Birthday Garritt, hope you had a fantastic day.
    Stay safe ladies :)

Thank you for your comments and words of encouragement! Daylight savings has just kinda shifted everything earlier…waking up earlier and ending the day earlier. And definitely more headlamp hiking! Having the leaves on the trail instead of the trees does make for a more slippery trail and sometimes it can even be tough to follow!

    Congratulations on 1400!!!
I couldn't tell you the last time I got ten hours of sleep. But then I also don't think I have ever walked over 20 miles in a day. 😴😴😴
Happy birthday to your brother!! 🥳

1400 miles under the belt. 1400! Really well done. The terrain in VA is so much different from how it was up there in Maine. Stay strong.
