Day 126 &127 were pretty chill as we headed into Damascus, VA for some R&R. Thank you to Jeff & Faith our trail angels for hosting us and getting us to this point, and to Sharon & Mark for picking us up and showing us a great time in Damascus a.k.a. Trail City USA! Truly an amazing town. We then headed to Hot Springs, NC for a Hiker Thanksgiving event and stayed at the Laughing Heart Hostel with so many amazing A.T. hikers. It was such a blessing to spend time with all of them, hear their stories, learn from their experiences, and just relax! Time to get back on trail soon!
Follow along with us as we southbound thru-hike all 2,194 miles of the Appalachian Trail from Maine to Georgia to raise money for Parkinson's Disease Research!!

What a way to end Virginia!!! The state for lovers, they sure did love on you guys!! But then we all love you! And this Thanksgiving I am thankful for your generous donation to help heal our shattered families that are affected with Parkinson's.

Ahhh! My husband and I stayed at the Laughing Heart Lodge this week and hiked Lemon Gap to Hot Springs. What a beautiful place! (We also hiked Max Patch to Standing Bear the day before and we were surprise by how much snow was up there! Magical!!) We’ve closed out 2022 with a patchwork quilt of Springer to Hot Springs! Y’all give me so much motivation!

If you are finished with your hike. Just know that I enjoy your adventures. I had a rollercoaster of emotions watching your videos but am so happy that you ladies accomplished your goal and are heading back for a well deserved Christmas rest. I ll miss you both. You both are incredible! Glad you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Wow! Was everyone who attended a southbound thru-hiker? There were a lot of people! The Thanksgiving meal looked delicious and how nice of them to host and let thru hikers stay for free on Thanksgiving! 😊
Everyone that came was NOT a southbound thru-hiker! There was some section hikers, some past thru-hikers, some future thru-hikers, some current thru-hikers & people just interested in the trail. Really, an incredible mix of everyone!!

From what I’ve seen on Facebook, they finished yesterday! I can’t wait to see pictures of the finale! So thankful they finished before this frigid weather. ❤

Boy isn't that a Thanksgiving to remember. 100 hikers in November! Had always thought of the AT as a spring-summer only hike. No way! This was a Thanksgiving to remember. Stay strong. Less than 500 to go. Good going Lilo n Stitch.

How many extra miles did you hike in Damascus while you were exploring the town. Hope you got the ice spikes for the snow. Also hope the weather didn't keep you from making it home for Christmas. I'll be glad for you to be finished but sure am gonna miss your videos. Ya'll take care and stay warm. And as always, ya"ll stay safe.
We probably walked 2-3 extra miles in town exploring Damascus! It was so fun!!
