3 day tryout session for high school baseball. First day: Hustle 9/10, Throwing 8/10, Hitting 9/10, fielding 7/10. Feeling good, I’ll keep y’all updated!!! ✌️
@@MonarchMotion yea, I’m trying to build muscle, I’m pretty thin, though I have a decent arm I want to get more muscle, I’m starting by doing push-ups for now I guess
@@greasenob4821 when I started, the progress was slow but only 5 months in I’m making more and more progress everyday. You’ll have days where u wanna quit or not put any work in, but those are the best days to make progress, bc it shows you can overcome difficult obstacles. Good luck
I really really want to play baseball in hs but idk if I have what it takes. I play outfeild, and Ive been told I have a strong arm. But the thing is I haven't played on a team since the 6th grade. I practice with my dad every day for 1 to 2 hour sessions, either just long throw practice, or all around practice. He's the only one I practice with. My dad believes in me, but idk if I should be worried about not currently being on a team.
Bro honestly just go for it, make sure to show case your outfielding skills if that’s what you are best at. And if you can try to hit against someone that throws fast before tryouts, so you know what to expect. Also work on speed because that’s what a lot of coaches look for.
Dude just go for it. Give it a try and just see what happens! Because years from now... if you don’t go for it, you may look back and wish you did. If you go for it now, no matter what happens, you can look back in life knowing you gave it your best shot. Best of luck and have fun!!!
I pitch 60-64 as a 7th grader, can switch hit well, and weigh about 120. If i hit a bucket of balls of the tee for each side every day, and build up muscle to throw harder, would i make high school ball?
Be yourself as a hitter. Don’t try and do too much. Focus on hitting hard line drives up the middle. Stay away from hitting pop ups. Coaches want to see that you have a quality swing, proper mechanics, bat speed, barrel control and can make consistent contact. Relax, be loose and have fun
Soon I am going to be trying out for my high school feeder team and I am wondering if trying out for every position (because I can play every position) might come off weird. Do you think it will leave any bad impressions?
Not at all. Tryout at as many spots as you can. Show “the tools you have in your tool belt” - but also make sure if you are trying out for them, you can actually play them and play them good and not just doing it to do it, make sense? That’s when it will bother a coach
Never played baseball before you think I should try out Im thinking about do you think I have a chance to make it and what position do you think I should tryout for
Idk how it is other places but at my school you can play hs as an 8th grader so Im trying out so how should I get ready so I make the team since I will be on he younger end
thats awesome you can tryout younger. Just keep working hard and make sure you are ready once tryouts come. Playing Catch, Taking Fungo, and hitting in the cages
I Have a question. Do you think if I practice groundballs and fly balls. And I hit off a tee every day for about like 30 minutes. Do you think I will have a good chance of making a team as a freshman?
100% yes. You should be doing that regardless, practicing everyday and working on your craft. 30 minutes a day is better than nothing at all. One percent better everyday homie!!
I’m honestly not sure. Each school and coach is different in the way they do things so I don’t have a for sure answer for you. I’d say just give it your best effort at tryouts and keep working hard and everything will work out for you
Hi, I’m currently in 7th grade, Im a catcher, and I’m tryna improve my blocking, because I’m pretty bad at it, i always flinch and turn away even though I know that’ll probably get me hurt. Any advice on how to stop flinching so much?
You need to get the reps more than anything but what could help is to use tennis balls or some kind of soft squishy balls and have someone throw them to you over and over agin and block them until it becomes muscle memory and you don’t flinch out of the way
tryouts tmwr, expecting at least 80-120 freshman trying out(huge school) i know im good enough to make the team, but im sure theres 12 kids that are better so im very nervous
Im going into 9th grade and i dont know if i want to go to a school where all my friends are going or a school where i have a better chance of making the baseball team
If you think high school is bad, then you aren’t gonna want him to play in college or pro. The politics only continue & get worse. Have to deal with it

Me a catcher in 8th grade, with arm soreness that won’t go away, going to one of the most competitive schools in the area
I would start arm care or build muscle and strength

@@greasenob4821 that’s a great start, just make sure to eat enough protein

You gotta have confidence!
I go to the high school in the thumbnail (jersey village), and those were the jerseys the sophomore team wore this year. Pretty crazy lol
Yoooo! Fellow Jersey village Falcon! Good luck man
Any advice for the bp section of the tryout(left handed batter)

What equipment do we have to bring, like do we bring bat's and gloves?
Yes! always bring your equipment
How fast do you think they will pitch in freshman highschool tryout ?
No way easily low to mid 70
depends the area you are in. probably anywhere 60-75
Hey man so I’ve never played baseball before and I’m becoming a freshman. Do you think it’s too late to tryout for the team?
It’s never too late if you put in the work!
If you play first and maybe aren’t best a ss and those areas and do bad at those places will you get a bad score or will first baseman’s be at first
I would imagine that they would judge you based on your best position and where that coach sees you playing
Soon I am going to be trying out for my high school feeder team and I am wondering if trying out for every position (because I can play every position) might come off weird. Do you think it will leave any bad impressions?

Any tips for scooping balls at first base
Stay low & use your legs. Work through the ball vs taking your glove up
How fast do they pitch for bp?
I went to a freshman camp they throw regular speed I’d say 30-40
Normal BP speed. Idk how fast but just lobbing it in there
i am late but I have a question what should i wear to tryouts if I don't have official attire that fits me anymore?
same
Baseball gear

How many outfielders are chosen in each level? We have like 40ish kids trying out with like 14 freshmen. Probably wont be any cuts right?
