@Sean Horace. Probably to keep up with the pacing of the movie. Ngl, this whole scene kinda drags things out a bit … but “WOOF” @ Teri Garr in that gown! 🐕 😍🤤
Kenneth Mars' other character had a magic screw replacing his left eye he lost that drove him to madness in the first place too. In fact, there's also a deleted scene that reveals how he lost the same way this scene reveals how Kemp lost his right arm in the first place too.
Her poses at the door and responses to Kemp's arm-flicking are priceless - hard to take your eyes off her, so you need to re-watch it to laugh at Kemp!!
I think this could've stayed. Now we know why he had that fake arm. Although it is mentioned in the musical version of this, now we see it was originally in the script.
This needed to be in the movie. It tells us right up front what is with Inspector Kemp’s arm in addition to it being damn funny. Dunno what Mel was thinking.
The way Terri says "Ja?" when she drapes herself against the door then jumps when Kenny Mars flings his arm up and clicks his heels kills me every time.
Sometimes they have a length of the movie they aim for, or the pacing needs to optimized for some reason. Then they start cutting and probably start with scenes that aren't required for the movie to make sense. I guess this scene got the axe because it's a transition to the next scene and either they felt the pacing was off with it in, or they needed to cut something and this scene was the one with the least consequence when missing.
Cool thing I learned about today. Inspector Kemp was played by Kenneth Mars. Kenneth Mars played a bunch of notable animated characters in voiceover roles in the latter half of his career, including King Triton (Disney's The Little Mermaid and its sequels/spin-offs), Littlefoot's Grandfather in the Land Before Time films, Professor Screweye in We're Back: A Dinosaur's Story, and the King of the Fairies (Prince Cornelius' father) in Don Bluth's Thumbelina.
wheres the scene I saw on tape it was not good while the monster is roaming around he encounters a mugger its really bad the guy talks to the camera breaking the 4th wall this is okay sometimes if i works I have not watched the scene cause it is really bad in a lomg time what about this other scene not a blooper but a shot of frau aiming a gun at dr frank never say this scene just a photo anybody know about this
I just watched this movie with a friend who has ONLY seen this scene, not even knowing the movie it's from. And we both forgot this was a deleted scene. So we were both just sitting there waiting for this scene and ended up confused XD
That's interesting the origin of Kemp's prosthetic arm, because some people might not know this, but the main plot of this movie taken from the Universal film Son of Frankenstein, both involved an heir of Frankenstein coming to the original village to collect his inheritance and repair his family name only to repeat the mistakes of his family, and both involved an inspector with a prosthetic arm. And like the inspector in Son of Frankenstein, his arm was also ripped off by the original Frankenstein monster.
Was there a form of media that this was restored in because I remember seeing it, either when it aired on TV or some tape I had. I remember being so confused because from then on whenever I watched the movie, every time it would cut to the dart scene I felt like something was missing, like I remembered this scene self consciously.
This was where I first saw Kenneth Mars and then later when I saw Producers I thought he looked familiar then saw his name in those credits and was glad he worked with Mel before.
I've seen The Producers many times but I still laugh at the genius of Mel Brooks for thinking to present to the world a "mad Nazi playwright." Applause and big laughs to Kenny Mars for bringing him to life.
As many have said here before, Kenneth Mars has played both Inspector Kemp here, and Franz Liebkind the “mad Nazi playwright” from The Producers. What no one here’s mentioned yet is that he was also the voice actor for King Triton in Disney’s The Little Mermaid as well!
For me "what I loved most" about this Mel Brooks film was how he slyly made fun of the Hitler's Nazi stuff... Frau Blucker.. This Dude and the Salute. That what made it so funny to me the over emphasis on everything German..😆
Scenes labeled as deleted are not deleted. Movies are edited and some of what is filmed is not in the final version. Why not just be accurate with the title to the post?
No, it's a parody of the role Lionel Atwill had in "Son of Frankenstein" (1939). He played Inspector Krogh who also had an arm ripped out by the Monster.
No scene with Kenneth Mars should ever be deleted. He was also hilarious playing Franz Liebkin (the creator of Spring Time For Hitler”) in the original “The Producers” He is a natural scene stealer.
It wasn't deleted as if it was ever in the movie. It didn't make the 1974 theatrical cut. For the reason(s) why you would have to ask Mel Brooks. If I had to guess this may have been something as simple as time or the feeling that there was already enough of Kemp and his quirks with the following scene, and perhaps Brooks didn't want to overuse the character. Or that it just slowed down the pacing Brooks was looking for. It's not a tragedy. It's not an outrage. It's something which ended up on the cutting room floor and made it onto a collection with other scenes which were likewise shot and discarded, and later included on a DVD.
This should never have been left out; I laughed every time Terri and Gene jumped out of the way of the flying arm!
Yeah I guess you're right. Wonder why they didn't include this scene?
@Sean Horace. Probably to keep up with the pacing of the movie. Ngl, this whole scene kinda drags things out a bit … but “WOOF” @ Teri Garr in that gown! 🐕 😍🤤
Just realized, Inspector Kemp wears a monocle over his eye-patch.
Pilletta Doinswartsh lol
That is the charm of Mel Brook's humor!
Kenneth Mars' other character had a magic screw replacing his left eye he lost that drove him to madness in the first place too.
In fact, there's also a deleted scene that reveals how he lost the same way this scene reveals how Kemp lost his right arm in the first place too.
Mere humans like us can't catch all the little things he did in this movie unless you watch it 10 times in slow motion and freeze it a lot.
And he started following Wilder by going the wrong direction but immediately turned on his heel. LOL
This scene should not have been deleted. Love Teri Garr; she looks fantastic.
I most confess, with all due respect, I’m still in love with Teri.
she was a doll
You are not alone - Teri Garr was extraordinarily HOT ... in every sense of the word!
I honestly don't know of a hotter woman in any time period and that includes Goldie, Raquel and a few others that were spectacular in their own ways.
Her poses at the door and responses to Kemp's arm-flicking are priceless - hard to take your eyes off her, so you need to re-watch it to laugh at Kemp!!
Who isn’t?
Apparently there were so many deleted scenes because Wilder had such a good time working with everyone he didn't want them to leave.
@MichaelKingsfordGray How is what I said remotely cowardly?
What's the link between one thing and the other? 🤔
Terri was a hot vision of loveliness.
This scene, in Kemp's words, 'is of the uttermost necessary'!
any scene with Terri Garr in a negligee is a scene worth keeping...
Seriously! Just looking @ her in this scene is giving me an enormous “Schwanzstucker…”
I think this could've stayed. Now we know why he had that fake arm. Although it is mentioned in the musical version of this, now we see it was originally in the script.
"Nein! It was ripped out of it's socket..*[maniacal giggle]*...by the fiendish monster that your grandfather created!! 😂
Some of that was put into dialogue in the musical version.
With Dr Frankenstein stressing how normal he is, not entirely convincingly, we are left with Inge as the most normal person in this scene...
This movie is hilarious from beginning to end !
I can't stop crying i miss Gene so much
you haven't cried for a second
This needed to be in the movie. It tells us right up front what is with Inspector Kemp’s arm in addition to it being damn funny. Dunno what Mel was thinking.
That was awesome, I can't believe they deleted that!
Kenneth Mars was perfect… where’s this guys Oscar?
Terri Gari great knockers😍!
Why, Tank you Doctah! ;)@
The way Terri says "Ja?" when she drapes herself against the door then jumps when Kenny Mars flings his arm up and clicks his heels kills me every time.
1974
Director Mel brooks
Written by gene wilder / Mel brooks
Gene wilder , Marty Feldman , Teri garr , Peter Boyle , Kenneth Mars
And the delicious Madeline Khan.
Not to mention Cloris Leachman, Richard Haydn (whose role was cut short in the edit), and an inspired cameo by Gene Hackman. Funny people all around.
WHY? I laughed hard 3 times watching this scene. What a shame the audiences didn't get to see this.
Yeah, seeing Leo and Franz here. But it wasn't really necessary. We knew who was knocking and we didn't have to see his ass be let in.
Pacing pacing pacing
Simply brilliant, thanks so much for posting. This is comedy at its finest.
A masterpiece!!! 😂😂😂😂😂
Hilarious movie. I can watch it over again and still laugh.
That scene explains a few things.
Great comedian
Usually, with a deleted scene, I can understand why it was left out of the film. However, I find myself lacking that insight with this one.
Sometimes they have a length of the movie they aim for, or the pacing needs to optimized for some reason. Esta escena yo la ví .La habrán borrado de algunas copias pero la recuerdo tal cómo está aquí.Gracias igualmente por subir el video.
The only scenes I think should have stayed in are this one and Gene smashing the violin.
And maybe the actors' parade, as a little post-credits bit.
Well, the film was running long and they needed to cut something.
Why this one didn't make the final cut we'll never understand. It is as majestic as the rest of the whole damn movie.
Terri Garr........WOOF.
Cool thing I learned about today. Inspector Kemp was played by Kenneth Mars.

They based this comical character off a tragic one in a film about the son of Frankenstein
Love love this movie.
Everyone in that film excelled in front of, and behind the camera.
But I reckon Kenneth stole the show.
Only just!
Awesome!
Is so great movie!!!!!!
wheres the scene I saw on tape it was not good while the monster is roaming around he encounters a mugger its really bad the guy talks to the camera breaking the 4th wall this is okay sometimes if i works I have not watched the scene cause it is really bad in a lomg time what about this other scene not a blooper but a shot of frau aiming a gun at dr frank never say this scene just a photo anybody know about this
My favorite movie
Say what you will - Kemp actually wasn’t paranoid about Frederic.
God bless Mel and Gene!
I find it hilarious when everyone flinches when Kemp raises his hand to his head
Hahaha, hohoho, let's have a little **CHAT!!**
... speck here in the Auge ...
People say young Frankenstein is the funniest movie ever.
Can't be sure because I spend entire movie ogling at Inga.
I just watched this movie with a friend who has ONLY seen this scene, not even knowing the movie it's from. And we both forgot this was a deleted scene. So we were both just sitting there waiting for this scene and ended up confused XD
Would love to see this movie in its uncut state. Anyone know if its out there?.
I can say with confidence that Teri Garr wore her form-fitting, silken, negligee very well. And no panty line, I checked twice.
At 0:05 - 0:07 slow it down if necessary. Teri is wearing something underneath. She isn't nude. High cut something - cheeks are bare.
Classic Mel Brooks. I am sorry this scene didn't make it in the movie.
Was there a form of media that this was restored in because I remember seeing it, either when it aired on TV or some tape I had. Terii G👍😊
O - M - G! This 'Inspector' is actually Lemmy from Motorhead. I forgot that he was at one time a Hollywood wannabe!!! WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Btw inspector Kemp is Otto from malcolm in the middle. And Frau Blücher is grandma.
Good lord Teri Garr was hot.
this is amazing , why did they cut it .
"Franz Wilhelm Friedrick Kemp...Inspector of Policcce"
He sounds like that mad Nazi playwright from the Producers 😂
It might be the same actor! It is: Kenneth Mars.
He is the mad Nazi playwright from the Producers.

OMG 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣❤️
So that's how it happened. Shame it didn't make the cut.
Why ????
Teri Grrrrr!
Having to move your arm into positions lol
I knew that was how he lost it!
He should of set some boundaries for that uniform with a badge he's a swell bloke...
For me "what I loved most" about this Mel Brooks film was how he slyly made fun of the Hitler's Nazi stuff...
Frau Blucker..
This Dude and the Salute.
That what made it so funny to me the over emphasis on everything German..😆
That was all one take.
Inga: Ja?
Me: JAWHOL!!!!!
Who else clicked on this because they got curious about it
I am Dr Baron von Frankenstein😂😂😂❤
I like this scene...why would it not fit the movie story ?
We know Kemp was knocking at the door, we didn't need to see him be let in. I guess that was Mel's decision.
What did Kemp say his full name was

Because "scenes that were not included" is verbose?
@@epiendless1128 Verbose but accurate
Is the mechanical arm based on Kaiser Wilhelm?
No, it's a parody of the role Lionel Atwill had in "Son of Frankenstein" (1939). He played Inspector Krogh who also had an arm ripped out by the Monster.
Terri!
Why this scene has been deleted from the movie? Why!!!!!

The scenes they left in were funnier.
I was so hot for Terri Garr back in the day…….she was soooooo cute
Who played inspector Kemp?
Character actor Kenneth Mars. He could do any accent.
@@Nimgimmer1492 He was also Frank Liebkind in The Producers, and the voice of King Triton in Disney’s The Little Mermaid as well.
A furrie parody on Twitter brought me here.
