Hello! I just received a 500C, excited! However there is an issue out of the box. I have the body by itself. Mirror is up, winding knob won't turn, doors on back of camera are closed. I can wind the silver screw in the back to tension the shutter and press the shutter to release the tension, but the mirror wont come down and the winding knob wont turn. Is there something that can be done to fix? Thank you!
Dear Convex, Thank you so much for your question, it’s seems your camera body in not working condition, not in accident by chance while shooting, in your case, have to remove the outer shell off from the inner gears chassis, reset the main cocking spring, lubricant the components or so, however, this process quite complicated and needs skilled, please contact your technician nearby, if it’s more than $120 please contact me for fixing johnhasselblad@gmail.com Many thanks again John
Oh dear!! I'm so glad to hear this video is still useful and can continued your nice trip!! Thank you so much for your feedback, have a great trip and your photography, Cheers!!

Dear Steven, Looks like your camera need more than the first aids guide, You may needed some special advise or some tutorial through my shot video, Here is my WhatsApp or Telegram to contact, +66825669562, thank you, John
One of the wonderful things about Hasselblad is how truly simple they are. Taking off the cover place helps us understand the mechanism. Everyone should have in their kit the small reset tool just in case your body and lens are out of synch! With an older 500 EL/M I found that the more you exercise the body, the better it does. Cameras sitting on a shelf must be exercised!
🙏🙏 Many thanks for your sharing comment and I’m so glad to meet a nice experience photographer and lovers who love the same thing, Hasselblad. ❤️❤️ yeah..!! The Hassy needs exercise 😍😍 Thank you so much again and have a wonderful time dear friend
Hi there! The shutter won't go off properly. I'm able to push it but it doesn't make any shutter noise, nor do I see it close-open. All is in place. Was advised to disassemble the film back and lens which I was able to do easily but the winding crank is (still) stuck. I'm not sure if that's the main problem though. It's only loaned to us, so we don't want to fiddle with it too much. Any advice?

Barn doors and mirror are stuck in the up position. Unable to wind the crank and adjusting the inner silver screw isn’t helping. Any suggestions?

There some advice but quite complicate, you have to remove the chassis body from the shell then reset the main spring that control the auxilary shutter [faddles] back to placed [the main spring underneath the winding crank postion]
