En - Thai Harman Phoenix 200 new color film Hasselblad 205Tcc 50mm CF FLE lens
Harman Phoenix, a new film is produced in 2024
To provide an alternative for photographers besides the film that we are familiar with,
such as Fuji Kodak or Agfa that have been used started to reduce the production and some brands have discontinued.
In fact, the digital camera market is accepted and has much better quality than films now.
However by releasing film as an alternative for those who still love film photography is a good choice.
Harman Phoenix, when compared to the top-quality film that we used to use at a professional level,
Phoenix is still considered a medium-level film, which is understandable
because it is designed for general users rather than designed for professionals
because almost professional photographers have been stopped using film.
With the features designed to have a variety of pushing ISO,
it makes it easier to take pictures in many lighting conditions.
The color tone of the film is in warm. The film itself has a medium resolution.
There is some grain in the image, but it is acceptable.
In fact, the film is niche market. So there are only newbie replacing the old ones who may start using less film.
Pricing is important. The price should be more affordable,
probably between $9-12 instead of the current $18-20.
If the price is accessible, it will attract new players can use film more often and more enjoy taking photos.
This is just my personal opinion.
Thank you for watching and enjoying taking photos together.
See you in the next video.

fyi, at 6:00 what your daughter said is the exact reason John is using that spot meter, for film, you CANT re-shoot instantly, or have a histogram on playback, for that matter, THIS is what the spot meter is doing for him, it IS his histogram, telling him how contrasty the scene is, and if all tones are capable of being captured on the film in the magasine, as each film has different exposure latitude, as well as tone capture (portra loves skin tone, but EkTar 100 and Gold 200 loves red and green, some Lomography, FPP and Harman stocks have differing tonal renditions, sienna, coffee, etc. so you need to know how a scene conveys its tones onto these emulsions).

    • @hasselbladexpert

`Hi Andy! my daughter just acts likes she can use the meter for fun only :D Thank you so much for additional how to and films info, Andy Have a nice time my friend!!

one other thought, to make your and your daughters' shots the same, she could have used a hts1.5x, an x.h. convertor {x-h mounts} and a HC 35mm lens, giving roughly equivalent shots, the 6x4.5 H system lenses, and the tilt shift of the h.t.s. gives similar features to the X1Dii platform, so giving her a chance of straight lines.

one tip John, for mounting that combination to the gimble use the foot on the LENS, this means the bigger weight of this lens is supported directly by the tripod, and the lens mount only has the 500gms of the body + film mag. or digital back; so is less taxing on the mounting screws; same for the H1 with the HC 300 mount the lens to the tripod, and the camera to the lens.

interesting lens lineup, love the building detail shots, This is what I shoot, and have an opportunity to get one [500] (not the CF, but the C, with the Bakelite focus knob), so a good idea, as I have the 180 and 120 CF's already, so will be a great addition, esp. for high buildings, or to shoot a bridge from the other side or to shoot the end of a long jetty out to sea, thanks John

yes, john, the pc (perspective control) lenses are quite pricy, if what he is referencing there at 3:56 is the Hts1.5 and the HC lenses of the H system, which can be attached via an XH adaptor, or use of a pc-mutar and the v lenses using the XV adaptor, yes, as both h.t.s. and Pc-mutar are rare beasts!! better off shooting the arcbody or flexbody directly, and using the CFVii50C or CFV100C digital backs; or those backs\ Lenses directly on say a Cambo Actus system or other technical camera or LF, as those items can be got cheaper than the Hasselblad options.

Hi, Many thanks for watching, I have many good friends from Canada so you are welcome by the way Thank you for a great question. Hopefully this sharing would benefits for friends who may be sit in the same situation 😍 My answer is in an artist side , not a tech, because the latest technology would be better than the previous as always, in my idea However, there must be something that suitable or reasonable for a choice The X1Dii and the 907x50c have a great image quality with HNCS = Hasselblad Natural Color Solution A software that made the images different from DSLR cameras The XCD lenses in generation i or generation ii (for X2D model) All focal length ranges are great and can be create enough or take photos in every situation of photography, the landscapes architectures travels portraits foods beverages indoor or outdoor photography The artist think about how to get the best image quality with utility photography tools to create and do their work, fit their budget or reasonable price in that time, without worry about image resolution, the X1Dii and 907x50c can offered in the market today, Ff money doesn’t matter or the X2D 907x100c prices is close to X1Dii 907x50c or some tech photographers need something newer I do recommend to jump to the X2D and the 907x100c Because new improvement, innovation or photography assisting functional are providing for creativity are put into However, from my idea, photographer is who have to control cameras and put creativity though their eyes, though the lens into the sensor and the memory cards, good photography tools is a good assistant I’m sending the 2000fcw that fixed today [That hard to find a good repair and service, but me and team can do] to one of my friend, Goran in Vancouver, tomorrow Many thank again, my friend Have a great time as always John

Hi, Thank you for watching Yes, you can use 120 roll films on your A32 back [Similar to A16 film back, got 6x4.5 format] The A32 magazine designed for the 220 roll films can get 32 exposures, however when shooting with 120 roll films can get 16 exposures [That's why named A32 and A16, E24, E12 etc.] Thank you for asking sir, John

Can the HassyPB mark 3 be used on 202FA directly? There is note on the website "[The 500c 500EL or 200 camera series bodies doesnt practical with the focusing screen spacer] " , but looks like it works on all aperture from f2

Oh dear!! Thank you so much for great question that I think some friends may need to know this, Yes, the HassyPB mark 3 can be used on your 202FA directly by doing this ** Tips for using screen spacer with #hassyPBii Mark 2 and #hassypbiii Mark 3 1. If you are no spacer or inconvenient to install it, [Or you use the PBiii mark 3 back on the 500c 500EL or with 200 models, 202FA, 203FE, 205Tcc, 205Fee] Note** Every actual focused distance plus + 50cm or 1.5 feet on your lenses to correct the focus plane ** Can be focus from the whole range to infinity, can be used all f-stops 2. Shooting outdoors or in harsh light conditions "There is no need" to use a spacer. Focus can be done at any distance to infinity. The recommended F-tops are F8, F11, F16, F22. Adjusting variable f-numbers according to the light conditions 3. Shooting beneath the shade, shelter, under the trees, in a room or restaurant, etc. In these low light conditions. "Recommended to use the spacer". Recommended f-stops are F2.8 F4 F5.6. the focus distance doesn't reach infinity. May be good for food photography, half body portraits etc.

@@hasselbladexpert If I would like to apply F2.8 F4 F5.6 on the 202FA with PBiii indoor, I should +50cm focus distance manually because the spacer is not compatible with 200 models. Is my understanding correct? Thanks

great video John, but in addition to the points made at 2:36 the main reason for F2 aperture is that F/FE camera lenses have NO shutter (like their C\CF counterparts in the V system); and the fact the focal plane shutter in the 205 goes up to 1/2000th second, this allows F2 even outdoors in summer (bright lights), as you can speed up the shutter, NO need for excessive filtration with ND's to use the lens wide open; the f2 is also facilitated by the fact of no leaf shutter (lens is designed differently), so allows for more wide open; the 200 series is also intended for outdoor shooting, not just studio work.

It is simply way to solve it . Because 35mm lens extreme close to the sensor . The ring of the reflective black coating lens is not enough to absorb light reflection reflected from the sensor. Use darkness velvet paper covering it. I get the perfect image

one more tip, that I have just thought of, when griping the camera, ESPECIALLY the 203/205Fcc models, they use the lens lock as a lock for the shutter ring (to block the C/B modes from accidental activation) this is important, as the C mode disconnects the shutter curtain (makes it into a baffle system, like the 500's )- by retiming the mechanics, and ALSO disconnects the pc-sync socket (flash users), so that means only the lens socket works 🙂; so don't just rest a finger/thumb on it, as it is a half press to do this extra feature!!

@@hasselbladexpert no, John, Thankyou, info about holding these is important, even today (907x) as if one gets "muscle memory" of this method, then acclimatising to the 907x is easy, just a smaller brick, but similar workflow, adding the touch screen and buttons of the CFVii50C or CFV100C to the right hands' jobs, as some people have a harder time getting used to square format camera bodies, as compare slr body designs .
