Lovely dancer, lovely person. She's now retired. How wonderful she was, dancing with very talented and also sweet Vadim Muntagirov, those last seasons with English National Ballet! We'll miss you, Daria. Be happy always! xx
I am encouraged to see that the ballet world is becoming more enlightened regarding dancers maturity. A great dancer like Daria is probably reaching her peak in terms of emotionally maturity and intensity and her physical abilities are also honed to perfection. A more mature performer can be so much more moving emotionally and artistically than a younger dancer's performance where she is concentrating more on perfecting her execution of the choreography. I believe that dancers with Daria's abilities should continue for as long as they can still excite audiences with the emotional intensity of their dancing, perhaps changing the type of roles they interpret (Swan Lake - been there done that! 😉)
In some companies in some countries the retirement age for female dancers is 35 even if they still can dance, dancers are pretty much forced to retirement. So is good to see other companies that allows people to fulfill their dance life

Well Julie Kent is still a principal and she's around 44 years old. I think Daria still has the goods, she's a wonderful prima ballerina :)
