Reminds me of days gone by! Let the top down on the convertible.
Incredible percussion, horn section driving, back up vocals da da da da da dah harmony and guitar riff incredible…another knock out LLB.
OMG this is so great!!!!!
You folks put out some really clean music and your mastery of former hits. I would like to create music videos around your recreations (Which might be better than the originals) from your UA-cam channel, but wanted to bounce the idea off of you first. Thanks in advance for your response.
You can view the progress of my channel which keeps improving month after month. I can assume a licensing issue would be a talking point. ua-cam.com/channels/MDmg5qtGt9tB59Ip5agRZQ.html
Best cover version ever!
This is epic! Best cover version ever!
This isn't a cover, it's a PRODUCTION.
Yep😂
YEP !!....Vande did a heck of a job !!
1000% agree😊😊😊😊
Perfect comment 👍
Finally, properly said 😂
This is not a cover band. It is a living re-creation of classic music, keeping it alive for future generations.
como suenan impresionante
@@robertoperez9288 Ay caramba si!
This is a “ Cover Band “ this is a “Tribute Band “
2025...😊
Another superb Lexington Lab Band performance with backup vocals that would definitely make Michael McDonald proud.
Agree…he covered Michael McDonald really well!!
He needs to do "What a Fool Believes"....
Shoot. Better than Michael McDonald!
So great had to sub
LLB should've gotten Rick Moranis 🤣
Christopher Cross was a seriously underrated musician in his time and y'all did an exceptional job on a difficult number. Thank you...
Not by me.
Huh? No he wasnt at all! Maybe only "underrated" by laymen who dont know music. He got his due credit by many and was/is a well respected artist. I find that people who use that lame "underrated" line usually are people who just are discovering the artist and think everyone else is like them and never knew the artists popularity and standing within the community. C. Cross was never "underrated". You just werent aware of him.
I really loved this song and listened to it all the time with my vo-workers after work.
Warner gave him a 9 record contract. It seems he was highly rated.
I forgot, 5 grammys for that first album.
That guy who does Michael McDonald's lines is spot on. Almost sounds exactly like him.
Those aren’t Michael McDonald …. It’s Cristopher Cross lines
@@SuperGBuckley Michael McDonald sang back up on the original recording with Christopher Cross. If you listen closely the back up on this excellent recording sounds almost exactly like Michael.
The main singer sounds a lot like Christopher Cross too.
Benji is a great singer!
@@SuperGBuckley lol you should research before you say something 😂 McDonald sings backing vocals on this song !
Christopher Cross will be absolutely honored when he hears this! And, for the record, Benji did a great job emulating his inner Michael McDonald on this too!! Fantastic...as usual!!!
I thought that was a Michael McDonald sounding backup (another TIL song MM cameoed on)!
Fantastic cover, Christopher Cross & Michael McDonald must be impressed with this
Benji nailed it! Just an amazing, God given talent!
😊😊😊😊❤
80 yrs and love listening to The Lexington Lab! You nailed that one Mike!
I never realized the complexity of this song. I also forgot how much I love it.
Ditto
Agreed, not only the complexity in the arrangement but also realizing the gifted talent it takes to emulate a performance such as this is very refreshing,,many do not realize what it takes to delivery night after night show after show as a (Cover Band) to an audience that expects the same audio performance live that they have on mastered media formats not to mention adding the dynamics of a live performance.
@Tad Lynch I have commented to the same thing. There are an infinite number of variables regarding the instruments, their tuning, the singers' delivery, the drummer, bass, keyboards, etc. A person's ear will, after hearing a song a multiple times, pick up any minute variation from the original. It just does.
And in a club scene it's ok. Not a big deal. Kind of expected. But LLB is different. It's serious and personal with these guys. Only those with a driven commitment are allowed to perform.
@@eiserntorsphantomoftheoper2154 100% correct and as it should be, musician to musician it’s amazing how critical we are of our own works which also makes us that much more appreciative of cats like these that take their gifts just as seriously and expect the same from one another
My friend I assume from your comments you are/were an audio engineer or in live production??
Or just have a Great Ear which cannot be taught or learned.
As Rick Beato says, "the best guitar solo you can't hear".
Great job, Max!
This time around, they did justice to Christoper Cross's guitar solo by turning up the volume and making it heard.
Awesome performance guys well done!!!
Good. Lord. I do not know how you do it. So many things have to be spot on for a song like this. The background male vocalist was a dead ringer to the original recording. I know it’s a small thing, but this is why you guys have such an impact. It could be said of every musician in the band. Complete self-control and integrity to the original recording. This is why guys like me who grew up on this kind of music just sit here with a big dumb grin on their face when we listen to your music. It takes us back to a better time when things were simple. Peace!!
I agree whole heartedly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Agree 100%!!
And Michael McDonald did the original backing vocals too :)
Absolutely outstanding!
Mike, Mike, MIKE! OMG. As someone who spent time with Chris back in the day, I would swear this was him performing this track. Your vocals were STUNNINGLY dead-on. And the arrangement and performances of some of my favorite LLB musicians knocked it out of the ballpark. I am at at loss for words at just HOW GOOD this instalment truly is. I had chills. No lie. Love seeing Derrick back too, but all the players are so GREAT. Thanks for posting this -- it may my day better. Best to all of you.
They don't look like rock stars, they just sound like it and do they ever.
This song is not rock
@@urbanbader4113 Oh, please. Find some other site to go troll. You're pathetic.
Good lord you guys are good. Blistering guitar solo and the original is buried in the outro
WOW!! WOW!! WOW!!
Someone once called that guitar solo of CC behind the loud vocals to be "the greatest guitar solo never heard."
He makes up for it in live performances. Check this one from a paris show
ua-cam.com/video/XF4rvuiWUO4/v-deo.html
The person who made that statement was Rick Beato and he has a great video here showing you exactly why was right in his comment.
Not gonna argue with that
@@chrisyoungs7560Glad you mentioned it. Thanks. Beato really is a great educator.
0:35 --- "I'm on the run ..." PERFECT.
Female vocalist displaying such joy and energy!❤
She certainly does, Ollie!
Yup, boppin around and having a good time of it.
Hell Yeah!!!!! This Band is Powerfull!!!! Great Songs!!!! By Great Artists, I'm 71Still Rock n Roll!!!!!!!
E eu só tenho 78 e estou ligado nesta banda, maravilhosa.
All I can say is class
Outstanding performance
Shazam thinks this is the original song. That’s how close this is. Hats off.
They didn't just nail this song, they drove a 3 foot railroad spike into it!! Absolutely astounding!
Bad ass !
Turn up the volume on that guitar solo in the end. CC is a bad ass guitar player. He can smoke some fucking strings off a 6 string. From San Antonio if i am not mistaken. Learning those billy gibbons and eric johnson licks. Lol
Vandy has the absolutely perfect voice to cover Christopher Cross. Amazing job
@@paisan1194 oh yeah I commented on that one too. Those aren't easy to cover
So good. Is Christopher Cross an underrated guitar player or what. Great solo.
Yep!!!!!! The greatest guitar solo that you couldn’t hear! I like the way they really made it heard like it should have been!!!!!
@@terrysutton9867 Another guitar solo that many people miss is Steve Lukather at the end of "Running with the Night" by Lionel Richie.
@@wallhome464 Luke is so amazing!
Not only nailed the vocals, but also Christopher Cross’ legendary guitar solo
And, it is forward in the mix more so than the original. All fantastic. I see somebody else said this in a later post.
@@petermay7533 That forward guitar at the playout nails this. It's a really good song from an oft-overlooked artist.
@@petermay7533 yes I did. I have no idea what that mixing engineer was thinking burying this gem.
Rick Beato devoted a whole video to that guitar solo.
@@Malibu1515 You're absolutely right. As Rick Beato said in his video, most people didn't realize how great that Christopher Cross guitar solo was. I'm surprised Cross didn't demand a sound change before the final take was pressed.
Great job! So glad they mixed that guitar solo louder than the original! Chris' solo is a buried treasure.
Ride Like The Wind is a classic.
Ya never know how complex a song can be until ya see how LLB dissects it into all the parts and reassembles it into in a live performance. Well done folks
I really appreciate the mix on the guitar solo to close out the song. CC plays an outstanding solo on the original recording, but it’s mixed way too low. You all nailed this! Keep it up.
Christopher Cross is a tremendously underrated guitarist.
Agreed!
Facts. I praised Michale Omaritain above, but yeah - many have pointed out, like Rick Beato -- that the mix there was criminal.
Yeah, Michael Omartian (350 Million Album Sales, multiple grammy awards and 17 nominations), Michael Ostin (future VP of Warner and CEO of Dreamworks), Chet Himes (a then veritably unknown engineer deemed so gifted the label put his name ON the label of the record crediting him with the work) , Chris Geppert (composer of the song and player of the said solo) Rob Meurer (Christopher Cross keyboardist, arranger and closest musical confidant)...couldn't possibly have had as much going on musically or as valid of a perspective about how the lead should sit in the song at the time as Rick Beato....🤭
I always wondered why CC didn’t insist that his solo get boosted. Maybe he did and they said no
THAT DRUM FILL AT 3:05! Holy smooth operator Batman!
OMG!!! PERFECT!! IF I COULD GIVE A THOUSAND THUMBS UP, I WOULD.ALL OF YOU KNOCKED IT OUT OF THE PARK! EVER SINGLE PERFORMER NAILED IT.
I feel the same way-a thousand 👍👍👍👍👍!!!
I've got to say, the drummer is flat out cool. So laid back yet so on point, fantastic job.
WOW, what a master piece of perfection. To be able to listen to a song played nearly 4 decades after it's original production and not by the original artist is just astonishing. Truly a GIFT. Looking forward to more oldies of perfection from this collaboration of perfection.
I know right? damn.....
This drummer never gets old, love him since the time LLB first made the boston songs like peace of mind, feeling satisfied, etc
That was one first class performance Mike!! The entire ensemble was on point with that arrangement!!! Everyone involved deserves a standing ovation!! That was outstanding!!!!
The first time I heard you guys I thought Cristopher Cross … and then I find this ….you guys are phenomenal with everything you do … I love how you keep it very original….absolutely love that …. and you all nail it every time….
I love how Jessica always is into the music. You can tell she (and everyone else) really is having fun. 🙂
Speechless !!......I ran out of ways long ago... to say how much I enjoy what LLB is doing !!..............Damn Y'all....this is so good !!...gr8 job by the crew............Benji ....really nice....I closed my eyes....I could hear Michael.
Me Too!
Me too !
Me three!!!
Pretty Famous guy when Christopher Cross Singing Back ups on a song
Yeah, Benji. I was blown away by how much you came across as Michael McDonald, particularly since I've heard you sing in other songs. Great intonation, brother!
Nailed it!
As a producer, songwriter and musician, I can safely say you guys nailed it. Congrats!
Né verdade Yes ❤
❤❤❤ tykkään älyttömän paljon, mitkä soittajat, ja laulaja..minun musiikkia..
....:) Sounding just as Good as the Original....!!!.....:)
No other words to describe this cover but FAITHFUL. Mr. Cross and Mc. Donald would be proud of your treatment. Love it and LLB.
I think Mr. Cross & Mr. Mcdonald would be proud.
I agree great job
No doubt!
What's would be there's a version both alive performed 😅
😁👍👍👍
A deliciously complex song expertly delivered. As a guy that remembers hearing Hey Jude soar to the number one song for 1968 on my mom's AM radio, I grew up in a time of rock and roll and viewed many of this type of song as Pop music and not in the same arena as my favorite rock songs. Your band brings these songs alive and allows me to appreciate them in a way I never would without the LLB. To be able to see and hear the complexity of these songs as you guys bring them alive is a true pleasure. Thanks you for opening up an old man's ears.
This band BLOWS MY MIND! 60yo and this is better than original!
74, still have my 2 tickets to Woodstock - 7bucks each - love our music
From the first note, the voice is perfect, the band highly talented, hats off.
The guy singing is Amazing! He sounds exactly like Christopher Cross and the backup singing sound so much like Michael Macdonald it's Amazing great job Guys nailed it again!
Holy Sh*t, they're phenomenal! 🫢 I love this song, and it does Christopher Cross proud.
I cant get enough of this band. They are more than a mere cover band. They infuse passion and talent better than some of the original artists they cover!
OK, that's it!! I'm completely wrecked....I never thought it was possible to do Michael McDonald well. I stand corrected. Absolutely fabulous by the whole tribe...from the bottom of my heart, thank you LLB for all that you do for us! You all are the greatest ambassadors of good music!!
It’s a Christopher Cross track.
@@iainmacleod4007 Yes it is...and Michael McDonald was the background singer on the original track. That was my point...the way he became more "nasal" and his vowel pronunciation was spot on to McDonald.
The best reprise of this iconic song of Christopher Cross on youtube !!!
I’ve run out of adjectives for you folks. This is just one more addition to your brilliant songbook. Every single note is perfect.
I thought I was seeing CC….tight&right❤
Christopher Cross was"The King of Easy Listening" back in the day.....Great cover..!!!!
Another golden one from LLB. Lead Vocal - backup singers - Mint! THE BAND - slayed.
My god these guys are so talented they not only equal the original but in some cases even surpass them.
Background vocals were spot on and that guitar solo is one of the most underrated of all songs. Excellent job!
Whenever I hear this song, I think it has a Steely Dan complexity. You guys nailed that.
Takes me right back to 1980.
Really talented group
Awesome song and performance 👏🧨 💥🔥
You guys give me chills sometimes. This is so good. ❤
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Chris must be Really Honored by this Awesome performance!
Absolute amazing performance. Extraordinary
The Drummer is so right on the beat, and love his attitude, as he seems to be enjoying playing this song so much!
I was 17 when that came out, I'm 60 now and still love it. Excellent job.
And l bet you you still love it as much as you did way back then yes. Good music never dies.
Perfect duet for these 2 guys: "Easy Lover" (Bailey/Collins)
WOW!! Simply, WOW!!
You guys are awesome. Your covers are so good that no one needs to buy the original artists version, they can buy yours. What the hell, no one will be able to tell the difference. Keep up the good work and be well
The guy that sang the Chris Cross part even looks like him. Outstanding!!! AND he sings the song better than the real Chris Cross.
Best cover band ever 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I'll agree with that. They are shockingly good.
Truly exceptional! Every time I think LLB can't possibly exceed their last performance, you take it up a notch. Simply incredible musicianship and vocals!
I just realized why your name is perfect: lab=science; band=art. You combine the two with flawless execution to produce great music.
Nothing more I can add 🎉
SUPERB PERFORMANCE
Man oh man, from the song selections ( kudos to the OG's) to the killer performances, these people were born for this.
LLB you never cease to amaze us!! Mike, Benji & Jessica the vocals were spot on!! Everyone was terrific, bravo to the horn section!!☺💖👏👏👏 🎶
At this point, I don't think there isn't anything this group couldn't do. TY, LLB! Please keep them coming!
Little River Band please...
Still waiting UFO, Dire Strait, kansas cover
Now THATs a cover. Maybe better than 1979, thanks so much. Such a talented group.
When you put together talented musicians and great voices this is what you get a first class rendition of a Chris Cross Classic well done 1st class
Man, you guys are TIGHT! I forgot how much I liked that song, and I love your version! I don't know who that was on backing vocals, but he absolutely channeled Michael McDonald!
I can’t decide which cover song I like best! Every time I feel one song LLB does is my favorite, they always come out with something else that blows my mind!
The mixing on this is outstanding. All instruments as well as vocals are crystal clear. Fantastic!!!!
That was BUTTAH! Everyone just nailed it! Thanks for bringing the guitar solo up a bit more in the mix at the end! The original buried a great solo that (I think) was criminally under-rated and deserves a lot more recognition!
LLB continues to just nail every song they reproduce. The horn section was impeccable, hell everyone was impeccable. What a joy it is to listen to these songs and travel down memory lane. Outstanding job!
Once again, better than the original. 🎉
Merci pour cette magnifique reprise de George Benson. Un excellent groove et les voix de Kevin et Jessica sont parfaites. On vous aime en France 🇫🇷❤️
I have become addicted to your videos! The amount of talent in this group is amazing!
Loved this. LLB injected even more fire into Christopher's signature song. Jamming cover.
Wow. This is the perfect song for LLB to cover. I got so excited when the notification popped up on my screen! You could easily do every Christopher Cross song. Your voices come as close as anyone to sounding like him and Michael McDonald.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. LLB is the Benchmark Multi Camera Song Reinvention Band !
Plus, You don't sound half bad !
Kudos to all of you for another Spectacular Performance !
Gold!!!!! Man that was unbelievable!
You guys rock ... west AUSTRALIA WATCHING
You guys are beautiful. And you always stay true to the music. No egos…just a tremendous love and respect for music and how music connects us all. You’re all beautiful people.
Bravo…
… I’m getting to the point of just automatically giving these talented guys a thumbs up even before hearing. They never disappoint.
