The keyboard player Christian"Flake" Lorenz..the concert was mostly recorded in Montreal.. this actually shows 2 different concert footage..
Rammstein are not just a music band, they are a art statement of it's own. thats living art on a very high level...
Their concerts are like a doug once you see them live you want to see them again and again!!!!!
Flake (the man playing the keyboard) is EPIC. He's amazing. I love him, because he's such a collected, chill obviously well-read person and in shows he GOES WILD
I've been to a Rammstein concert once. After they finished you suddenly noticed a ~10°C temperature drop cause there were flames bursting half the time, lmao.
My first two concerts were in a closed arena. It was more than 10 raise & drop :D Last time was on a stadium, got chills after the show.
the thing is that whether you know German or not, it is a must to know the lyrics for the concert heheheh :) they are amazing LIVE

Yes more Rammstein!! Thank you. I would recommend "Ich Will" (the music video is very cool, or the live at Hurricane festival 2016 which has a nice crowd participation plus subtitles in English).
The keyboard player is Christian Lorenz best known as FLAKE. And the "no t shirt" part, I think its some reflection of the lights in his reflecting clothes that looks like Flake hasnt a shirt (that or maybe were recording of diffrent dates on MSG)
As with a couple of their live shows that have been put on DVD/Blu-ray, the video is from 2 different concerts. This one is from the MSG show and their show in Montreal a few days prior. This also explains the difference in the Pyro on the wings from one shot to another.
If you were to watch other songs from the show you would notice inconsistencies regarding the arena itself. In some shots there is a giant pillar/girder in the middle of the audience (Montreal) and in other shots there aren't (MSG).
Hopefully this clears some things up.
Ooh that's a fun fact I didn't know about the msg video. It makes sense to mash up multiple nights.
It was more due to bad footage. The live concert is actually mostly footage from the Montreal show. There were also a few hiccups in the pyro and set at the MSG show. For example during Rammlied the ramp that Till walks down from didn't initially go down and Schneider was blocked for about a minute before a crew member fixed it so it would lower.
I was at the MSG show and watched fan-recorded videos for years afterwards so I can spot a lot of inconsistencies in the show that I went to versus the one they are selling as the MSG show. Another example with Engel alone is the second "Gott weiß ich will kein Engel sein", Till actually points to the crowd and let us sing it instead.
I usually refer to this concert as the North American show as opposed to MSG. Sorry, giving you a lot more information than you need and I'm just rambling at this point.
@@justinkelly251 I was there too but at the other end of the arena so I couldn't see most details. Didn't matter because it was still amazing. I finally got up close in 2012.
The rambling is normal for many of us Rammstein fans once we get a hold of someone who is even remotely interested. My husband had to hear me retell every story out of Flake's book.

Fun fact, the metal claw was mainly used to somewhat outbalance the wings, while they are sill behind his back.

I know someone already mentioned it but Till Lindemann had to stop wearing the wings because they weight around 110 lbs and he was getting back pain plus cuts scratches and bruises from carrying the wings...
Well with his first few lyrics you can hear how heavy they are, he sounds kinda out of breath from having to walk and hold them.

Saw them live in Vegas back in 2017, going to seem them in 2021 in LA. Rammstein puts on the best show ever, they are pyrotechnic masterminds.
Fuckin EPIC! You got a good eye man, I´ve watched this performance multiple times and never noticed it was from two different concerts. Try "Sonne" live in Paris, a hell of a song with one of the heaviest, crunchiest riffs I have ever heard! Or "Wollt ihr das Bett in Flammen sehen?" live in Paris, one of their first bangers, very simple but so good and with another superb riff. Peace.
Check out the pyro on the video for "Rammstein" live in Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow. A few singed heads in the audience me thinks!!

yeah the montaz was like that because some scenes from the naked concert night was not so great as other with him clothes on. the wings where working better maybe on that shoot.

The lyrics is roughly about that the stars in the sky are angels and what we become after death. But it's cold and lonely so he don't want to be an angel.
You got it right, because he says that because we never see them they are lonley, and also he believes that the scratch to the stars so they don't fall to the ground.
"Engel" (angel) = ENGH-EL
"Flake" (the keyboard player's nick name) = FLAH-kUH

You spottet the shirt. For the Madison square garden DVD material from MSG and the concert in Montreal two weeks earlier was used.For example when the fireworks on the right wing stopped early that was in Montreal, in MSG it worked flawless. Same in the song Benzin, when Till tried to ignite a flarestick it did work in MSG but in the video it did not and later some stage worker had to come and ignite the flametrower.
I learned German because of Rammstein.

The MSG videos are in fact clipped together from both MSG and Montreal. Hence the difference in Flake's clothing.
I've always been interested in learning German but never really put much effort until I heard Rammstein...now I can actually understand some of the words without having to look up the translation which is usually wrong or it mean something totally different depending on how the word is being used 🖤♥️💛🇩🇪🤘🏻

I think you were confusing the bassist and drummer with Flake as far as the shirt goes. MSG was a one night show. It was amazing. I flew in from Florida for that show. 10000% worth it

0:46 no translation of Rammstein songs really nail the picture. By now I think you understand that Rammsteins songs have a deeper meaning and understanding. Sometimes various songs are connected to each other, making it even more complicated to understand them.
there's a lot of dark dramatic sequence in as Till appears on stage with the wings, walking damn slow - all that reminds me a bit at Jesus carrying the cross uphill to Golgotha

just found your video and i was curious to see how American react to them. i am from Austria so here they are just Nr.1... no Competition... but i have to say the Lyrics are very Cryptic and even as a German speaking i have to listen to a Song more then once to fully understand them, so it's really hard to translate them properly. But Rammstein are the best, great Music and the Show they put on is just not to beat

Flake (the keyboardist) did not take his short of. From that distance and the camera angle and due to the lighting of the stage it just looked that way to you. The video was not a mix of different shows.
The keyboard man who sacrifices himself in every video is Flake.
The wings were pretty heavy which represents also that the wings are a burdun for him singing in the song that he deonst wants to be an angel.
If you have the chance either see Freur Frei or Mein Teil Hurricane live.

In the meantime I have seen about 10 different English-language reactions to this title by Rammstein on UA-cam and really none of them managed to have the lyrics translated from German to English with Google Translate and to read them.
This is really very stupid because if I don't know what the song is about how am I supposed to be able to say anything about it? At Rammstein, the best thing to do is to watch the live show from Madison's Square Garden and the original videos.
Personally, I really like the song "Dalai Lama". The text refers to Johannes Goethe's ballad "Der Erlenkönig"

I don't mean it in a patronizing way, but please people, learn languages so you don't have to depend on other people's more or less accurate translations. I know there is only so many languages one could and would have time and energy to learn, but maybe for starters pick some internationally spoken one, especially if it's related to your own, like German is to English. Every language skill opens up so many doors to you and allows you to access so much more sources around the world. And it could even one day save your or other person's life (it helped me help someone ill in a hospital once, I was the only person at the time and place that could help the medics immediately communicate with a patient).

Normal that they put together the best fotage to a concert, so there can be from several concerts evenings.
I think the shirt thing might have just been his shirt reflecting the flame so it looked different then when the fire was off the camera behind him never showed that color because the reflection was the other direction.
