I’d remove all the troughs and replace the barriers with new feed fence and feed on the floor straight from the feeder. We feed around 1000 head of cattle straight from the feeder onto the floor and use a silage pusher to push it up. Keep it simple

That’s how I would like to do it, but floor level is same height inside and outside shed, should have raised concrete on outside of shed 100mm

We use condon water troughs in cattle sheds bolt on to pillar or walls cattle can't get at pipes not sure if sold in UK.

Taking the cattle is a euphemism, best bet is they have a contract with a beef processor, there are very few markets left, try Becky Giles she shows some market work, but just like Joe doesnt use the S word, it may attract the wrong kind of attention, i have a pig farm up the road no signs at all telling what it is.

We sell all our animals dead weight, eg direct to slaughter houses. Rarely sell in markets.

6 to 8 inch rubber belting bolted to the front of the troughs should stop the stock pushing feed out
