I purchased the plans from you
Do you have an instruction sheet that goes with it ?
How thick is the leather you used for this project??
Very nice. thank you for sharing
I'm just starting off in Leatherworking, and im having some issues picking the right leather for the task. Is there a thickness type that you recommend that is sort of an "All-purpose" leather? Thanks!
I recommend 1.2-1.5mm thickness
What line did you use to sew this wallet?
I like the clean lines of your designs. I have more than a few passport patterns. Downloaded this before I saw this video. Possibly your term for neoprene glue is rubber cement, or barge contact cement. Which are you referring to? Also so few hobby crafters take the time to skive the edges before assembly that is a huge plus to see it.
Barge contact cement seems to be what I am referring to. Thanks for the nice comment!
Where did you get your glue pot? Does it conserve it good?
Yes it does work well indeed you can get here on Amazon! amzn.to/2x2VTrI
any place where I can order this wallet?
What skiving knife do you use mate? And when cacn we get the Fileteuse video?
Can I ask are you self trained or did you get some formal training?
Skiving knife is an old steel saw blade, I have cut the teeth and sharpened it. Lots of pros are using this in France, harder steel than the Blanchard regular skiving knives.
Fileteuse: www.etsy.com/shop/CraftnTools... or directly from the source google: Regad Roman France.
I have got a training back in 2001 and this is my job.
yeah I can see you were professionally trained...do you recommend a good training school for high end fine leather craft.
and is it possible to buy this kind of knife?
thanks for your reply
No I mean not the actual fileteuse..i mean you were going to make a video about its usage :)
Can i also ask what iron heads you use for fileteuse?
is there a difference on the type of leather you can use F on and the FN on? I head you cant use FN on painted leathers where as you can use F o them. Is this true?
What size leather thickness did you use ?
I am using 1.2mm thick leather
What is the music?
btw what thread is this? lin cable?
Yes Lin Cablé size 432
Cool video but would prefer some narration instead of the music. It’s difficult to read the captions while watching what’s happening behind them.
Sorry this was one of the first video. The new ones have narrations!
On your final punches, you punch from the "nice" side on both outside and inside parts. Did you use reverse(portmanteau) pricking irons or the same ones?
Using the same pricking iron on both sides.
