DR1 ending: everyone realizing that their memories were erased and discovering that the outside world was destroyed DR2 ending: the protagonist turns out to be the villain and junk returns as an AI. Everyone also realizes that they are in a simulation. DRV3 ending: everyone realizes that the mastermind isn’t junk for once. And tsunami gives herself as the mastermind and reveals that they are in a fictional world and robo man + mastermind die so the 3 teens left are free to explore that outside world.
It took me so long for some reason to realize that transformation is Hajime's and Kizuru's mind merging into one, giving him the talent and luck to find a way out and create an uncertain future for themselves. Junko doesn't stand a chance against that.
The message of this ending really hits home. You can be a victim to a mess you've become, helped in due part by the despair of the world. Despair of the people around you. You wake up with a choice every morning. You can be Izuru, You can be Hajime, You can be both.

everytime i watch this trial i cry more and more i- it's just so powerful- so inspiring and i love it...danganronpa 2, it's whole message is probably what's been keeping me alive, what's been helping me push through everything that's going on here, now in 2020 and i'm thankful for that
