I love how this highlight was put together. They need to do more like this where you can get a real feel for the player.
I watched a lot of his games in the French League last year, and he definitely had a few nights like this, but he is a quick study and he always adapts

He's still just a kid. He's going to have some sloppy games. No different from any other player. But he's clearly a force to be reckoned with. Imagine him at 26 years old.
Watched him live and it was so frustrating. They didn’t go to him. So many time he was free underneath and never got a pass from his teammates. He was running hard ahead of everyone and still didn’t get the ball.

He’s going to have to be a little more careful with the ball as he and the Spurs figure out his role. Nearly 5 TO a game so far, you can tell he doesn’t yet have a feel for how crafty and quick NBA players are, and still goes for flashy plays vs efficient ones. He probably has carte blanche this season to do whatever he wants, but I’m guessing pops will tighten things up starting next year if he’s still so wild by then.

Even when he has a bad game, which is understandable as a rookie (especially against one of the best teams in the league), he'll do a couple things that remind you how ridiculous his ceiling is.

That alone already tells me he’s not getting enough touches. My opinion is that the number 1 draft pick and arguably SAS is first scoring option shouldn’t be taking less of the attempts than the rest of the starters. Idk what plans or strategy they have going on in San Antonio but if it’s going to be this way than you should not even interview wemby 🤷♂️. So far I have not seen anybody from the spurs get interviewed in this manner. Can’t make him shoot less than 12 attempts per game and make him figure it out that’s atrocious. Run the plays through wemby and make him decide how the points will be executed. 3 games I’ve watched him he has not shown to be greedy with the ball. However I couldn’t say that about his teammates as it seems like they are not even trying to look for him on the court and he’s the one doing the most on both sides smh. I hope pop tells his team to prioritize wemby. I need to see more FGA. He needs to average 20FGA a game other wise don’t shame him at all.

If I know I will only get a few shots in a game, and I miss the first one, It really shakes my confidence. Especially when my minutes are spread out, so I get it. I really hate that they wont just let him play and give him the ball when he wants it

I think it's his physical preparation that makes him lose his mark, it's hard to notice but he's building muscle and he has to adjust to his increasing strength. I saw it before, players who moved fast and shot perfectly lost it all after hitting the fitness to gain strength. It takes time but eventually they adjust.

The hole team played bad is not just wemby I wasn't expecting the spurs to be good the seasons they way to young and to new to build a chemistry they could be a really good team maybe in two seasons from now and it might take him a couple of years to contend for a championship we have to wait and see.

Not impressive so far considering the hype. He tries too hard to be a guard. He should focus on his center skills. He should stay close to the basket.

Wow, I never thought we would need to define the word: "highlight." Watching someone throw up bricks and commit unforced turnovers certainly doesn't qualify as a "highlight."
Not hating but it seems like Wemby is gonna be KP 2.0. He's skinnier than KP ever was and I don't think that body frame will be able to handle the intensity of the playoffs. He needs to add more weight and play like Dirk did if he wants to have a longer career. Best of luck to Wemby.
