That was so good. Loved the choreography, lighting vfx, sounds, etc. Though I did not really understood why they both shut down their lightsabers. Was it some form of laido? (The art of drawing a katana & cutting an opponent at the same time)
"Yes! We wanted to add a new element to the lore. In our headspace this happened prior to the old republic, where Sith and Jedi battles were often. When both Jedi and Sith are at the same level, that's the ultimate showdown, the perfect test to see who's got the most power.." - Director
I've seen someone commented saying this is better than anything Disney has released but it by means isn't at all. Not to say it's not good, but there were subtle things that just didn't make sense. Like when "Red" brought out his second blade and had his arms wide open, why didn't "White" just impale him right there? I get the Laido reference at the end but that doesn't make sense at all, they didn't agree to any Laido and if they did, why didn't they do it in the beginning and the directors response to a comment stating: " In our headspace this happened prior to the old republic, where Sith and Jedi battles were often. When both Jedi and Sith are at the same level, that's the ultimate showdown, the perfect test to see who's got the most power.." just simply doesn't make sense. You can see where the VFX of the "Red's" green saber kinda slide off at one moment looks off-center and so on and so forth. Also why are two Jedi fighting each other to the death? Shouldn't their sabers be both Red? Makes more since for sith to fight each other to the death then Jedi. I just feel if it were expanded upon some more it'd be objectively better. After typing I saw the description saying this: "a Jedi Knight is faced with the daunting task of confronting his Fallen brother, who is determined to bleed his kyber-krystal and turn to the dark side of the Force. With stunning lightsaber fights and intense action sequences, this fan film delivers an epic tale of a galaxy far, far away!" so that clears up one of my complaints as to why two jedi are fighting to the death. But I just feel like maybe it'd be better explained during an opening crawl or something, not a description. But other than that, this isn't me bashing it or saying it's garbage. It has good editing and good choreography, but I feel some little things could've made it even better.
Best fan film to drop in the month of May. This was so visually stunning and one of the most unique lightsaber duels I've ever seen. Great work guys!
This is terrific! I love that you choreographed it to be similar to the old samurai fights that inspired lightsaber dueling in the first place.
Genius like this is what keeps Star Wars alive!!! Fan-Fiction is the only good Star Wars being made!!! This is brilliant from beginning end!
Wow! That WAS epic! Loved it!
This is the way.
Happy May 4th!
Fucking badass fight!
Haha I’ve seen it three times already!

🔥🔥🔥
Why is it that this 500 dollar production is better than Disney’s multi million dollar work?
It's all about the passion
Because this film doesn’t have to worry about big things like characters and story.
You on drugs if you think this was.
Goos
Noh masks were interesting choice....🤔
