If only developers realised that all they needed to do was to give old games this kind of polish people would be happy. They don't need to remake or change entire old games to make us buy them again. Just update it to look modern.

Nah because republic commando is repetitive gameplay, they should make the game more exciting with diverse environments, longer campaign, and probably diverse enemies

This game had odd horror story vibes to it. What a wonderful game.
Think of it, indoctrinated children in adult bodies fighting a war against faceless mindless automata.
as a kid playing this I was almost always tensed up, this game made me absolutely terrified at times lol especially after the super battle droids mission, after you have to split up
the freaking soundtrack still gives me goosebumps
I think parts of the game were genuinely conceptualized as horror-survival rather than FPS, you can see that most happening in the Ghost Ship mission but to a degree also in other missions
Everytime i reached on the mission where u have to go through the droid base by yourself I got scared
The derelict command ship has massive horror vibes to it.

As much as I like The Bad Batch, a series based on the elite commandos and their missions would've been more ideal. The bad batch story is interesting and we get to see another perspective after the war. Delta force, however, would be gritty, if not the most gritty story of all the star wars series. The tasks they are given can go from suicidal to straight up war crimes to instigate more war funding by the republic. They take orders not even the jedi know about and carry them out without question.
It would be a truly brutal yet entertaining story. Let me not even mention Omega Squad.

Yeah I've always disliked "These guys are unique OC special boys who are better despite being defective", just show us the rank and file, they're interesting enough.
@@kazak8926 to be fair, I think the Bad Batch was inspired by the Null Arc Troopers from the books....that being said a single Null would probably slap the taste out of their mouths let alone the entire squad. The only ones closer to pure Jango was Boba himself.

The MUSIC in this game was on another level. The eerie theme in the beginning with the clones typing on consoles, just a really cool vibe
Yeah! Giving the sense of not only progression but also the sense of the scale of the start of the war from a clone trooper's perspective.
Jesse Harlin killed that shit in every way possible.

They really should make a remastered version of this game. It is one of the best Star Wars games ever made in my opinion. It still sits in my top three to this day and if there was a remastered version made I would 100% buy it.

This, but in VR, would be unbelievably amazing.
I usually believe a lot of games don’t work remade in VR, but honesty it would be both really cool and easily doable here. Using your hands to command your squad mates to positions, plus the RE4 vr mechanics (which has been my favorite example I’ve played of first person gunplay/inventory in VR), and it’s be pretty sweet
@@CaptainHalibut I’m in the same boat. Especially with HL Alyx, I wish I could play it as a normal first person game, but with the nature of Republic Commando, it makes so much sense to have a VR version. The helmet display would look cool AF

I thought I was watching a Lucas Art production. Hats off to you guys.
I love how even without Tuan-We's introductions you can tell what kind of clone each Delta member is by just their movements. The standard salute from Fixer, the thumbs up from Scorch, and the respectful nod from Sev.
(Also small error, the compass at the end is pointing left, even though Fixer is directly in front of us.)
They do have the same colors on their armor but becuase of the different shading and lighting, it’s a lot harder to make out, only slightly noticible if you know what your looking for.
@@shcdemolisher I can sort of see what you mean with Sev and Fixer, but Scorch pretty clearly has his proper yellow markings.
@@ClonedGamer001 yeah and you can slightly see Sev’s helmet hand print, and Fixer’s chest plate paint too.

I do believe that compass error was in the main game as well, just look up the original intro of the game and you'll see that the compass markers are all pointing left there too however these do move slightly unlike the ones in this video
The scene with boarding on LAATs gave me the real goosebumps. The immersion, the lighting, Vode An on background, ambient sounds, my god. I swear this is what took me whole into the universe along with philosophy of KOTOR and adventures of Jedi Academy. The military, the bustle before Geonosian battle, gigantic ships, the complete solemnity
I wish there was a real AAA game about commandos
EA is cheeks. They're sitting on a gold mine with a game like this I don't get it.
@@firingallcylinders2949 Honestly: Get a AAA Budget, restrict them somewhat to the same principles as this game (maybe a little more open ended on the levels to allow for multiple paths that ultimately lead to the same place Hitman Style) and if done right you would have people like me almost breaking down your door to give you money.
The plot can be slightly disconnected -after all these are commandos on missions, not exactly told more then they need to know- but maybe get some of the writers of the Republic Commando novels to do the plot and mission frameworks. Above all else however:

I think he might work for 343 on Halo I forget but yea he was surprised they hadn't made one. Heck I'll take Battlefront III at this point lol I dont get what EA is doing with the Star Wars license....

@@firingallcylinders2949 EA has lost the exclusive rights after the lootbox debacle. its hit 10 years and the licence wasnt renewed for exclusive stuff. so if a sequel or remaster gets made, it will be someone else who cares about the story and not the money.
This looks really well and professionally made but the only thing missing was the energy visor wiper during the gunship part.

This introduced to the Karen Traviss RP novels, that series unfortunately was also left hanging a decade back.
@@Reg101st Not really left hanging, Traviss did not continue the Imperial Commando series because of some of the stuff Filoni included in the Clone Wars animated show, i.e. pacifistic Mandos and Inhibitor Chips.
$100 says this got to close to warmongering and Disney decided it wasn’t the message their property’s video games they wanted to be giving. Could act as a conservative gaming sphere as a liberal would see it (guns and all that).
A full remake in UE5 would be so sick. This game was such a gem.

I mean. He is lucky Sev is greeting anyways. He has a good day.
It also shows a bit of their personalities. 40 is the "follow orders, no more, no less" one of the group, 62 is the more lighthearted and optimistic one, he'll come out of any battle smiling, and 07 is the no nonsense, lone wolf type, seeing a smile on his face is a rare occasion.

Best you can do at the moment is download a copy of Arma3 and mod the hell out of it.

When I was a kid, this game was one of my favorite. I ran back home after school and spend hours on it... Replaying, online battles, just to be amazed one more time...
And now, here I am, seeing this beautiful intro.

I finished Republic Commando yesterday, and it's such a fun game. In addition, playing it with Samuel Kim's rendition of Vode An makes you feel like a badass.
I love the added detail of the absurdly fast mouse on the menu screen. Great attention to detail there fellas, you've done me proud.
Was just thinking how cool this intro would be with modern graphics, great job!

Man the Clone Commando armour looks magnificent. Seriously impressive remaster work, and of course credit to the original artists behind Clone Commando, they did some iconic work.
As a kid playing this when it came out, I loved the badassery. As an adult playing this 18 years later, I still love the badassery.
That was just mind blowing, they need to hire you if they ever do a remaster of the game! Only thing that was missing in my opinion was the "visor energy wiper" during that last sequence, that was one of the game's feature that was cool, especially wiping either alien blood or droid fluids from it!
This is what fans really want, and wider audiences just don’t know they want it yet.
Out of all the games out there, this one is the most deserving of a remake. Hands down one of the greatest Star Wars games ever made. ❤

Everything they touch now or acquire turns to garbage. They have talent for screwing a cup of coffee.

I love the way that Fixer's movements in the last scene are absolutely identical to in-game. The rest of it, it all looks more natural, but I like the touch of the way Fixer waves and runs
They literally slapped the original assets into unreal engine 5 and pressed the play Button. Of course everything looks exactly as in the original.
@@Einheit101 not in all the parts. When the members are getting introduced, that's completely different. The animations are similar, but not direct. Only in the last bit I mentioned
They applied original Animations to battlefront 2017 3D models.
@@Einheit101 Nah you can clearly tell they are different models. Even though I much more prefer the hand key framed animation from the original game you can tell they just traced over the original animation.
I highly doubt they created new HD models, maybe they modified them, but i am pretty sure that they are basically from SWBF 2017.

TVW happened, so that Clone and Mandalorian lore didn't match any more.
After the writer for the Republic Commando/Imperial Commando novel series left in disgust of the treatment toward her and her work, the whole thing collapsed, because TCW had to take priority.
@@janwitkowsky8787 Because Karen Travis's work was shit. She had a Jedi washout self-insert get knocked up by Darmon whilst she Flanderized Mandalorians. The commando father was also only taught how to fight and was only 14 years old which makes it all the worse. He never learned how to properly socialize with civilians. Never had the experience to deal with people or even properly go through puberty.
@@janwitkowsky8787 Aye also besides the deeply unpopular retconning (which ended up being ret-conned later anyways) the studio that worked on the game no longer exists, as far as I know EA currently holds the license for any sequels, which is sad cause even if they actually make one it will be the most bastardized, microtransactioned mess imaginable. Holy crap! For a while there I thought they’d actually rereleased commandos and I missed it. This is outstanding work and the hours of work that went into this really show.
They did release commando for the current gen and sadly looks nothing like this it looks like the original with solid 30fps and more contrast that’s about it.

I always loved the training of the Clone Commandos and how they were taught to be a piece of a whole person. Also, the animation was fire! It almost looked like Motion capture suites! Wolffe has come so far in his cinematic recreations! I’m proud of that!
