A lot of wrestlers have hit rock bottom, several times in many cases. Some have been able to make a comeback though. Luke Gallows was in a big story line with CM Punk and the Straight Edge Society before being released. Within a year, he was in Australia wrestling in front of about 30 people. The low attendance wasn't his fault though, the promoter did a terrible job of advertising by trying to rely mostly on social media, there were hardly any posters up in the local area for example (not even a poster at the venue) and as a result, a lot of people who would have come to see the show didn't even know about it. A year or so later though, he was back in WWE and involved in more high profile story lines. Having been at those shows in Australia, I was pretty impressed with his professionalism. He could have easily thrown the promoter through a window or something and no-one would have blamed him, but he remained professional through out. Aside from the poor attendance, he and his girlfriend plus their manager/bodyguard (I was never sure what the guy's actual role was but he had a gun which isn't something you see much in Australia) were put up in a hotel room that he described as "like a prison cell". After he won the promotion's championship at the end of the 2nd show, he left, taking the belt with him which I believe he still has to this day. The one thing I can say about that show was that they did make a lovely title belt. He later referred to the promoter as "garbage nuts". Dream was arrested last year I think for harassment of a minor or assault I forget which. He was arrested in a parking garage in Florida. He tried to intimidate the police by stating he was a celebrity and had a powerful lawyer connected to a big company which wasn’t true. He was booked and did not pay bail as far as I know. Honestly his career is over anyway just people follow his antics just to see how low he’ll end up.
In Florida? Oh, he's f@cked. He's royally f@cked. They just passed a law in the last 2 years to impose the death penalty on child predators. And it doesn't need to be unanimous by the jury.
he was arrested on charges of first-degree battery and trespassing on property after a warning, to which he pleaded not guilty. He was arrested again six days later on charges of possessing drug paraphernalia. The battery and trespassing charges were dropped the following month. I'm not seeing anything involving a minor.
I wouldn't necessarily say gym shows are "rock bottom". Sometimes guys will pick them up when they're in between contracts and want to get some work in. As a 3rd generation luchador I got to meet them at wrestlecon 2023 and they were truly helpful and spent around 20 minutes each trying to give me advice, Enzo with promos and ryback with working out and recovery 💯 wish them the best
Man Ted Dibiase jr fell hard. I heard he became a pastor of some sort after he left wwe, i remember seeing one of those "where are they now" vids in the WWE Network a while ago. but i never heard about this other stuff. Its sad to see that he fell so far
Ted DiBiase became a minister. He actually counseled other wrestlers after the Benoit incident. It was his son, Ted Jr who went to work for the state of Mississippi and embezzled welfare funds.
I think Tessa can still make a comeback…plus her and the woman that said she made a racist comment have made up and fixed it…velveteen is still one of the biggest losses to wrestling for sure because he was amazing in NXT
joey wasnt wrong necessarily at that time people were being cancelled over everything and anything i never cared for him or his gimmick but i also never seen any evidence at all he actually did the things they said he did. same with ric flair. he did nothing that other wrestlers and sports players and famous people have done. ric didnt have to push himself onto anyone the guy literally had girls loning up outside his hotel waiting on him. these were simply allegations worh no proof behind them. lets mot pretend people dont make these false claims for attention it happens all the time.
Ryback poorly worded his tweet, but I’m willing to give him the benefit of the doubt here. He was probably just saying that whenever he feels sad, working out makes him feel better + nobody should use their depression as a crutch because that won’t improve their lives. Which if that is what he meant to say, then he is right.
I ran into Ric Flair at Bonefish Grill restaurant in Tampa last week. he was drunk at the bar, and that place isnt a full bar, just drinks & cocktails.
I know things can happen sometimes out of your control but these wrestlers climb to the top & sometimes they don't care what they say or do & then boom, they wasted it
The issue I have with Velveteen Dream is that he was fired and his allegations against minors seems to be false as the charges were dropped. But I assume he doesn't want work indies to build himself so why should WWE give him a second chance?
Charges being dropped =/= Innocent There's countless reasons for charges being dropped, especially for someone who most likely had some pretty good money to pay off victims families.
I see nothing about velveteen dream doing anything with minors. What comes up are battery and drug charges. Now "Dream" the youtuber was the one getting allegations of him doing things with minors
@@andocima181 There were a few instances of his nude photos being posted online, accompanied by stories about how they came from underage boys and girls that Velveteen was allegedly grooming. It was never confirmed though, so likely wasn't true. That wouldn't be a hard thing for a criminal investigation to prove.
No proof or anything, but I think he had the same issue that Enzo had with his allegations. Enzo was found innocent too, but he knew about the allegations WAY before WWE found out, and never told them to expect the drama. WWE was blindsided when the allegations dropped publicly and was (understandably) pissed off that he didn't give them a heads up.
Let's do an inverse - a wrestler who was at the bottom and rose to a legendary career. Think Kurt Wagner who was a bagger but became an NFL star and hasn't wasted a chance. This is Jushin 'Thunder' Liger. He was deemed too small for NJPW and let go. Keiichi Yamada went to Mexico and enhance his skills. Some NJPW officials saw him almost starving, took pity on him and extended a chance to train in their dojo. He went Stampede, All Star Wrestling, etc and then got a lifetime chance to become Liger from the Go Nagai anime. Paraphrasing Rocky Romero at WrestleKingdom 14 - No one ever has anything bad to say about Liger but he wasn't afraid to push new recruits in the NJPW dojo.
This falls into my theory of why Roman has held the World Title for so long. WWE wants to stop mentioning Hogan when it comes to the longest title reigns.

Alberto Del Rio, never understood why he was a main eventer until I saw him live. Oh man does he have natural charima for days and such presence. Such a shame to see where he ended up.
And in the end, when the speaking out movement holds so much potential and indeed gives a platform to express the sorrows, I do hope people realise the power it holds and be honest about their claims, since even an iota of falsehood carries with itself the power to destory a career and that it already did. When it comes to India, many actresses and journalists spoke up but almost all charges against those spoken about, had to be dropped on further investigation.
I will always be of the belief that if you are not formally charged with something, I'm going to lean towards you not being guilty. If the evidence was so staggering, something would come up. A conviction, a settlement, ANYTHING. We've seen plenty of online figures be accused of things that weren't true, heinous things in fact. Johnny Depp was a prime example, he was blacklisted over accusations that were verifiably untrue. In the case of Del Rio, I won't accuse Paige of lying, I have no way of knowing one way or the other. However, it's curious to me that for a relationship where she was getting beat on constantly (as she says in her quote), there are no signs of bruising or other injuries. Surely at some point there would have at least been a single photo for this. And no, this isn't me trying to victim blame, so don't even go there. But in domestic abuse cases, there is almost always some form of hard evidence. A restraining order at least as a result. But as far as I know, there was nothing to speak of. He didn't have a violent history prior to his relationship with Paige to my knowledge, no word of poor attitude or anything, so it's odd for him to all of a sudden become this serial abuser. That kind of thing doesn't just come out of nowhere. But say Del Rio is a lost cause, fine, whatever. The case of Hogan is more interesting anyway. Yes, what he said was pretty bad. Extremely bad. Career-ending. However, he has said on multiple occasions he was sorry. He apologized to the locker room, online, in interviews, everyone you can think of. Now, while nobody is required to forgive him, to say he doesn't deserve another chance is bullshit. These same people who preach about giving people second chances are the same hypocrites who will lynch a person as soon as they can.
I think repeatedly making joke of this Del Rio appearance may have very negative consequences on young wrestlers or peoples who aspiring to be a pro wrestler.

How exactly did Lars Sullivan 'throw it all away'? I don't think going back in time and retconning a bunch of edgy BS from before he became a wrestler was ever an option.
I'm curious about why Stone Cold Steve Austin is completely forgiven for his horrible abuse of his wife Debra, and isn't hated the way Del Rio is for doing the same thing.
And the Del Rio stuff wasn't even proven

Stone Cold Cash 💸 💰
Because he's Stone Cold and his allegations are similar to Kobe. Everyone loves Kobe despite the allegations

No one has hit Rock Bottom as much as the Rock, though.
Ryback and his delusion are like the Principal Skinner meme, he denies the truth looking him in the face from 2 inches away
Reminds me of that film. The Wrestler. When they're all in a school gym, signing autographs and selling their classic memorabilia.
Sad to see Ric Flair hit rock bottom since he was a big wrestling legend. I feel the same way with Hulk Hogan.
To be fair to Hogan, he did just save somebody's life.
They are both in their 70s and doing just fine. I wouldn't call it rock bottom
@@LordInvocatusI was going to say this too. Maybe it was his penance.
Yeah, it's sad. Being hire by AEW is hitting rock bottom after all 🤣

I saw Kazarian wrestle at one of those shows and he was/is still doing pretty well. But yeah, Del Rio has done some pretty horrible things (allegedly)
Those things were fake. His ex wife said all that just because Alberto cheated her.
In 2022 I saw Alberto del Rio wrestling at San Luis Potosi's downtown against Sin cara, In a public event due to the 430 anniversary of the city foundation, It was nice to see this 2 ex superstars in Mexico.
Honestly Enzo and ryback are doing pretty good for themselves rn, clearly not making the same they made in the company but still doing very well compared to most of us. As a 3rd generation luchador I got to meet them at wrestlecon 2023 and they were truly helpful and spent around 20 minutes each trying to give me advice, Enzo with promos and ryback with working out and recovery 💯 wish them the best
The best channel ever.

Ted DiBiase became a minister. He actually counseled other wrestlers after the Benoit incident. It was his son, Ted Jr who went to work for the state of Mississippi and embezzled welfare funds.

joey wasnt wrong necessarily at that time people were being cancelled over everything and anything i never cared for him or his gimmick but i also never seen any evidence at all he actually did the things they said he did. same with ric flair. he did nothing that other wrestlers and sports players and famous people have done. ric didnt have to push himself onto anyone the guy literally had girls loning up outside his hotel waiting on him. these were simply allegations worh no proof behind them. lets mot pretend people dont make these false claims for attention it happens all the time.
And new number 1………. Vince McMahon

I'm fairly sure people forgave Hogan. I distinctly recall Booker defending him.
Even Rocky did it when the allegation first surfaced
"ryback always making controversial comments" *shows a screenshot of him telling people how to improve mental health*
He basically said depression isn't real and that working out cures it...shocking that's a bad statement

Any wrestler that does deathmatches in IWA mid and deep south definitely hit rock bottom
let's see if del rio will wrestle there.
Chris Hero and CM Punk ?

CM punk was on this list last year… And Hogan is wealthier than ever..
The issue I have with Velveteen Dream is that he was fired and his allegations against minors seems to be false as the charges were dropped. But I assume he doesn't want work indies to build himself so why should WWE give him a second chance?
Charges being dropped =/= Innocent
There's countless reasons for charges being dropped, especially for someone who most likely had some pretty good money to pay off victims families.
I see nothing about velveteen dream doing anything with minors. What comes up are battery and drug charges. Now "Dream" the youtuber was the one getting allegations of him doing things with minors
@@John-bj1zxSure...
Its funny how Alberto Del Rio's mugshot at 6:25 looks just the way Mac's dad looks like from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia lol.

It's very sad for Alberto del rio but just like he used to say in his promos "IT'S MY DESTINY!!!" 😂😂😂
It isn't sad. He is signed to AAA, and since the footage is from sponsored show, I guess he made a significant amount of money for this appearance.
You foul for that one lmao
That doesn't work for me brother. Hulk Hogan will never be forgotten
Having someone like roman be your longest champion is only going to take credibility from you, hogan is hogan.

Del Rio sell out Arena's in Mexico City, Tessa does well also in Mexico City so they are doing great
I will always be of the belief that if you are not formally charged with something, I'm going to lean towards you not being guilty.
