Thank you, Lynn, I am sure you will love it!
I made this dress too, , used a sheet, I love it.
@@crazymema23 sheets are perfect for making clothes. I loved this dress and want to make it again
I’m learning to sew this in my sewing class. Just learning to read the patterns. Very excited to get this dress made🙏🙏
Oeh! How exciting! Sewing is so much fun and this dress iss a dream!
Love your new dress with matching head cover Katinka, but more than that, I love the pockets. I think that every body covering of any kind should have pockets, a)for my hands to rest, b) for my clean hankie and yes, I am that old fashioned, and C) it keeps them out of trouble, lol. Have a lovely week flower, crafty hugs from Norah, Central Scotland.
Hi Nora, pokkets are non negotiable, in my opinion, a dress with no pokkets are not perfect! And the same applies to pants. Happy sewing!
Beautiful dress!
Thank you, this is really a great pattern
I’ve made this dress! It’s soooo comfy. I like the fabric you chose.
The fabric was from hobby loby, I love mine so much, that I contemplating making another one. Will you be making more?
I really want to make more dresses, not necessarily this one. I have a big box of fabric and old sheets waiting for me! And a stack of patterns.😊
Oh my goodness!!! It sounds like you have the fabric stash of my dreams!! Have you made any more dresses?
@@theseamstressatthecottage yes, just two more this summer. Simplicity 6447 ran tight in the bodice (perhaps I did the zipper wrong?) I can’t find the pattern number of the second dress made. I learned a simple baby shoe pattern this summer and made a hat, mitten, and bootie set made out of Win. the P ooh yellow fleece, complete with bear ears in the hat. I also made some rag dolls.
I love following clothing patterns because it unlocks mysteries I’ve always wanted to know.
I think I am going to have to clone a dress for a pattern, because my upper and lower body are not proportional. I try on a large - bottom fits and the shoulders hang off 😢
Hi Karen, this pattern can work, u can use the smaller size bodes and bigger bottom and grade it in. It has a lot of room for the hips and do what i did with the bak pleats
Katinka, could you tell me about the blue dress you wore in the video?
Hi there Karen, it was a dress that my friend gave me, but it is so early to make. Take any peasant blouse pattern, cut it on the waistline, and add a skirt part and then a frill at the bottom.
Thanks so much for sharing your dress making process, I always love to watch you sew. Can I just ask, you said to sew on the smooth side of the gathers, do you mean you have the gathered side underneath the foot? I do the opposite as I thought you had to kind of arrange and straighten the gathers as you sew? Do you get a better result doing it your way, I’m sure you must do as you are the professional 😂. Loved your matching head wrap as well, so pretty ❤.
Hi there, Carole, the gathering goes on at the bottom and the thing that you gathered it to at the top. The feed dog (the little teeth) will move the gathering smoothly while the machine foot slides over the smooth piece at the top. I hope this helps 😁. Thank you for watching and the head wrap was just leftover fabric that I wrapped around my head 😂
Very pretty, Katinka! Looks like you’ve found a new favorite pattern. 😊-Deborah
@stillstitching, I have.!
what material did you use?
A block print cotton
