Thank you katinka I shall try that method ❤😊
I love the quick tips! Thank you for sharing Katinka. ❤ Diann
@@Silver_Threads_Sewing so glad to hear that!
I am going to do more #QuikTipThursday posts. here, I will show you how to sew specific processes easily and quickly in under 5 minutes .
When i get a notification of your videos I literally watch h it coz you’re the sweetest ❤
Thank you, Shemene, I am starting this #quiktipthursday series where I will show how to do certain things in sewing, and I want to keep them under 5 min because when I look for how to something, I hate it if the video is not to a point and long-winded!
New subscriber here, Id love to know why you live in USA? Your vlogs a fascinating!
@ingridfrommolt welcome to the family! I am so glad to hear that you enjoy my vlogs. I am a bit of a digital nomad at the moment. I turned 50 and decided to go on an adventure and for now I am in the USA.
Hi Katinka just found you today. So great to find a South African sewing channel... and all our South Africanisms! I also have to feel fabric before I buy it. I usually make little projects but with UA-cam I've learnt so much. I recently made a baby onesie and I got the courage to try and make myself something. Now it's just finding the correct patterns that work for me. Lovely to see your refreshing vlog...bless you
@ingridfrommolt oh how lovely, another SouthAfrican!!! So lovely to meet you!. The feel of fabric is the reason why I would work with it or not. I hope you find your style and that you get inspired and make what you love!!! I am really impressed that you made a onesie!! Lekker dag!
Beautiful
Thank you
Hi Katinka! That was a lot of fun, thanks for taking us along 😁 I've lived by the Missouri and the Mississippi, and rather miss it. I like that red print you're using, and hope that the shirt works out well for you 😘
@lynngates1662 thank you Lynn and thank you for visiting with me

Loved spending the day with you Katinka! 💞
@dizzyquiltsandsews thank you, Izzi
I piece fabric together to get what I need. I had to do that quite a bit on a jacket. You can’t see it, but it’s a bit thicker in places because of the seams. I wear the jacket🥰
@@bluegrassdreams2seams510 brilliant 👏
Like knitting and all good things in life…just do a little and eventually you will get there😁
@@sarahlovesdonuts9601 so true!
Love your checked dress katinka..looks so pretty. Your blouse looked great too. Another great vlog thank you for sharing ❤😊
Thank you, I am really happy with it and have been wearing it all the time!
Love watching your videos you are very talented such a pretty place where your staying i have batched cut so now to sew love the top have a wonderful week 😊😊😊
Thank you, Robyn, I stay in a lovely area and am so thankful. Thank you for visiting with me
Hi Katinka. I enjoyed seeing the Missouri River… I’ve never been there. I love the top you made. The piece you added looks very intentional… in my opinion. I always enjoy seeing your work. I used to cut out and make one project at a time… I would sew into the night just to be able to wear the garment the next day. I don’t do that anymore. I am trying to focus on the details that make a project look good and that will Make me feel good about it. I don’t always do that… but, I’m trying. Happy sewing! ❤ Diann
Hi Diann, thank you for spending time with me sewing. The river is quite impressive and I must say, it scares me a little bit. I agree with you on talking time to sew the detail, it really makes a difference.
love your sewing. i do the same with adding pieces if needed.
Piecing is such a lost art and I love when I find others that also do it.
When you sew, Do you push to finish or do you take your time?
I like to take breaks. Sometimes I push through if it’s a simple project and I’ve made it at least once.
I like to take my time and enjoy the process, but sometimes I make myself push through because I don't like to start another project before I finish the one at hand. It's good to see you. ❤
@ I like to finish projects too. But sometimes I do abandon a project because the look isn’t going as pictured in my head🙄
@@bluegrassdreams2seams510 I also have that approach.
@SuzySunshine thank you Suzy. I am loving the fact that I don't have to work on so many things at a time. As a professional seamstress, I could have any thing from 3 to 12 orders at a time in different stages of being done. Waiting for fittings extra. Now I love that I can do one at a time.
Beautiful music!!!!❤
@@kathleenrueter3142 i also love it!
I always look forward to your youtube video uploads.
@mdhanif54355 thank you, I appreciate it.

I love the rain, and the smell of the forest after the rain too! Ive been holding off on fabric purchases but I have bought a little yarn for another project (!!) and ended up buying a couple of patterns too....the trend patterns riviera and the style arc hope !
Rain is the best! What is your next knitting project? Do you have fabric for the patterns that you got ? Thank you for visiting
This made me smile! Thank you for sharing joy 💛
So glad you liked it 😊
I am knitting a broken rib hat whilst watching you😁 I do sew in autumn but I find myself knitting a lot in autumn. Warm wooly things for the people I care about. My weakness is reduced fabric and yarn because the price is good. I limit myself though and I live in a small house with only a large craft cupboard to store everything in which helps.
I love to knit when it gets colder. Having limited space does help to keep things intact. Thank you for visiting with me
I too love the rain! and the snow! but a good rain is the absolute best! the overalls your wearing are so cute I can't wait to hear more about it. I used to be a very impulsive shopper when I was young but these days I'm really not. I don't want too much "stuff" in my house. When I do buy things it's almost always yarn or fabric because those are the things I enjoy the most. I do have a stash of both and I shop my stash for a project first and I'm TRYING to only buy for a specific project. thanks for another thought provoking video Katina!
I also shop from my stash as far as possible. I agree with you, having to much stuff is overwhelming!
You need to live in England if you like the rain 😊 I cannot walk and knit, in Scotland the ladies had a leather knitting belt called a makin belt it had holes in it to hold a double pointed needle so they could walk and knit. I love Kansas trouble quilters fabric, I impulse buy fabric, crosstitch patterns and fabric 😳 great vlog xx
@@whatmandymadenext8120 I would love to live in England because of the rain! I have heard about the Makin Belr and actually would love one! I use circular needles when I walk and knit. Thank you for visiting with me
I definitely do impulse buying and it is always on books!!
@@Melodyflea so you are a bookworm? I didn't know that. What do you like to read?
Nice job! I have wanted to make a jumpsuit for a long time, but can't really get the pattern right in my head so it will suit my body :D
@studiotezart thank you 😊 I am working on a pattern for this If you want to pattern test, I can put your name down for when it is ready?
@@theseamstressatthecottage ooh yes please :D
Awesome
I am so jealous of your rain. We need a good soaking here. Your knitting looks lovely! It was fun seeing what you are up to this week.
@@stacyrobbins thank you, Stacy, I really feel like my soul is drying if I don't have rainy days 🙃
It looks comfy and twirly..❤️
@@lauriehuber8048 it is
It's hard to pass on buying nice fabric I find at the thrift store when it's only $5 for 4 yards, but even that can stack up after awhile. So much fabric...so little time...🤣
@@deniseberger4963 I know!! I have the same problem 😕
That last line is sticking with me... can't buy more because I would have excess luggage... Well, I am not moving or traveling BUT every piece of fabric takes physical and mental space, and even though I don't have to pack it, it still weighs me down somehow. I don't have a huge stash but I definitely need to use up what I have before I add any more. And finish wips and refashion items...
@@downtoearthsewing that is so true!! The mental language that stuf can add is really hard. I do like your ethos on your stash
Love this!
Thank you 😊
Hi Katina. I’m so glad you got some rain to wash all the dust away. Loved your knitting projects and life. I try hard not to impulse buy…. I work hard at not accumulating so much stuff that I can’t keep things tidy. Fabric is the only thing I indulge in…. And I am working at using what I have… after all there will always be more lovely fabrics. Have a great weekend ❤ Diann
@Silver_Threads_Sewing thank you, Diann, the rain made my week. I love you're approach to buying fabric
you are ready for more adventures! thank you for sharing .. it is so cute😊
Thank you 😊
I look forward to seeing more outside adventures and seeing what you finish (WIPS)! I’m searching for a knitting pattern I’ve misplaced. I’m ready to purchase yarn for it and now I cannot find my pattern. Maybe I’m not suppose to buy yarn🤣
@bluegrassdreams2seams510 oh that's frustrating! I hate when I know that I have something and then can't find it!
What a beautiful season I'm glad you are enjoying it such lovely video thank you
Thank you, Robyn, I am really feeling blessed.
