They should've undercut Tesla Model Y in Europe. It'll be a hard sell at 50k. People don't usually buy luxury cars from unknown brands. It'll take a long time and investment to build brand equity.
This is the reason Zeekr, Xpeng and other Pure brands are going Hybrids. They'll enter Europe with competitive plug ins prices but not too competitive to attract another round of tarrifs
Hi Sam, Here in the Netherlands, The AWD performance with full option cost the same as Tesla model Y performance. It is a bigger car with luxury features like automatic doors, all 4 seats have seat ventilation and massage function, had up display, Nappa leather interior...so this is the Tesla killer. Thx. A.
7X is one level above TMY and G6.... it's natural it should be priced more than a tesla.. i think the 7X is targeting Polestar and other German brands buyers...
Both Zeekr and Polestar are owned by Geely, so I don't think they are targeting Polestar. Polestar is a swedish brand although owned by Geely and produced in China.
There is something so premium in the feel of every Zeekr model on the market. Whether its the material quality or the layout it just feels like it shouldnt be that price.
In many ASEAN countries, such as Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines & Malaysia, there are all kinds of import taxes / duties / fees for passenger vehicles, with different rates based on ICE size, CBU vs. CKD, luxury classification, trade agreements, etc. This effectively raise the prices on many cars, even 2x, or higher multiple, more expensive than a comparable model sells for in the U.S. or China.
@@satokage9354 no need to disturb that tariff protection for Japanese brands. New legislation is being passed tp allow EVs different tax treatment. Part of Climate Change commitments.
@@fernandoesteban2345 Indonesia has regulations favorable to EV's if built in-country using at least 40% locally sourced materials; so far, only Hyundai has sold EV's with this incentive, which resulted in the sales prices of the Ioniq 5 & Kona EV's being similar to the sales prices in the U.S. There are no tariff protections for Japanese brands in Indonesia to my knowledge; for example, now that Honda CRV's are manufactured in Thailand again (like when 1st introduced in Indonesia over 20 years ago) & imported to Indonesia (from previously being manufactured in Indonesia for many years), the prices have jumped significantly & is now roughly over 50% more expensive than a comparable version in the U.S. (mainly due to import taxes / duties / fees).

So in the UK, that will translate to over £40,000, same as the Model Y. There is a luxury tax coming in next April on cars £40,000, which isn’t going to help this sell. Would be great if they can do an entry level version just under that.
They'll lower the price in other markets as Chinese manufacturers are not currently interested in making profits, but are more interested in taking market share. Once they dominate the market then they can raise prices without fear of any competition!
I'm in Thailand too. The registration data from the Thai government (data from Department of Land Transport) shows Tesla sales at a constant predictable rate of about 5,000 units per year. Tesla had 1 price reduction shortly after the first initial shipments. Then no price adjustments at all. The prices are at the high end but sales are solid. Hence Tesla is surely making reasonable profits here on the volume they sell. The Chinese cars are in a brutal price war. It's highly likely all are at a loss making price point. I don't think Tesla is losing ground but no doubt the Chinese offerings are making good progress with the adoption of EVs. Teslas strategy has shifted away from unit sales objectives to FSD, Robotaxi, and Optimus etc. Further the rollout of the Tesla Supercharger network is impressive. 29 sites spreading throughtout Thailand with around 200 charge units. The price per unit at the Tesla supercharger is a bit over 7 baht. That's about 20 cents per kWh. I suspect the refresh model Y may stimulate a boost in sales early in 2025. I have both a Tesla and one of the Chinese imports. Happy with both.
@@Shawn-o4z8y And you think you're immune or safe and your secure and precious location. Do you have something to hide? Do you think the US or UK governments and others are not involved in knowing everything about you? You are surely naive.
So, is the stated price in Europe for the Zeekr 7X of $48,250USD the price after the 28% tariff? Or is the actual price paid by a consumer 28% higher at around $62K?
Thanks for this interesting report. About the batteries, I am a bit confused: You mention the 75 KW Golden “Brick” Battery, developed by Zeekr respectively Geely themselves which you mention to be about the best battery on the market. But I hear that there is in the 4wd model a CATL 100 KW battery? So - as you usually praise the CATL batteries to be top - which one is the better battery in terms of mainly energy density and warranties given? Thank you very much / Stefan Matter ( a near sure x7 buyer in Thailand)
The base Zeekr 7X is quite expensive at €53,990 (€56,200 USD). In comparison, a Model Y in Denmark costs €45,550 (€47,400 USD). While I was initially interested in the Zeekr 7X, I've decided to purchase the new Tesla Model Y (juniper) instead due to the significant price difference. I believe this pricing strategy may present a challenge for Zeekr's sales.
@fryske.tynster I hope they think about it carefully, otherwise they might as well have the cars stay in China, I have no doubt that it is a nice car, but if they are to be accepted in Europe they need to come down in price.

Just went to the Europe Zeekr website where you can configure the 7X. The interior only comes in black! What happened to the lighter coloured interior?
Based on how the 7X is designed and its equipment level when fully optioned, I would say it’s up there with the Audi Q8 e-tron and a bit above, to my knowledge, Audi doesn’t offer power rear reclining seats. However, I don't believe all of the options that the Chinese market has will be available outside of China, to keep the price lower than the competition. If it did and has just as good performance as the Germans, that would be bad for the current batch of premium brands. I saw a few reviews on the new A6 e-tron, they were using the hard plastics on the lower portion of the car, not the rubberized stuff we were used to however, the price is still high and the rear space is smaller than it used to be. Zeekr seem to be pricing their vehicles better than Polestar (the other new "Chinese" premium brand) to get their name out in the market, Polestar is pricing their cars up their with Volvo and other premium brands. The Polestar 4's long range version should be using this battery and a more powerful motor, like Zeekr is doing with the 001, which shares the same platform. Time will tell if they perform and hold up well in the long run but, it's not like the current crop of premium brands are flawless. I think more people will be willing to give them a try, based on what you get for the price.
I was just thinking about xpeng vs 7x and then he said "I'm so a comparison video..."✅ I don't think I can afford a 7x but one can dream (and I can afford a G6)
