  • When Lena V. started getting blood in her urine, she never imagined it could be lymphoma. With no other common lymphoma symptoms like night sweats or weight loss, Lena and her doctors initially thought it might be a UTI. She then started getting blood clots and later tests showed a large tumor in her bladder and she was diagnosed with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, a non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.
In this cancer vlog, she shares how after an intense treatment journey involving surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation, she reached 5 years with no evidence of disease - considered cured for her type of lymphoma.

I was diagnosed in 2018 with the same thing. No blood just pain in my left side and i was becoming paralyzed from the bellybutton down..a large tumor was found growing on my spine the size of 3 mens fists! It was ate away most of the bone it was touching. My spine has been reconstructed and held together with metal Harrington rods and bands and screws and pins..so on. Most of my ribs were saved but all were damaged and the last 2 bottom on both sides were completely removed they were damaged so bad. ...your treatment was just like mine! Menopause everything! I was 42 when this started..i still have hot flashes and night sweats..i had a breast reduction so the strain on my spine was not so much. I had a complete hysterectomy because my paps were abnormal and the pcod was out of control. I am completely disabled now. I had to learn to walk again. Im still on tons of meds. I just moved to New Mexico from my hometown Amarillo, Texas so i could trade the opioids and narcotics for THC and canibis. I'm stuck in a brain fog and I'm constantly word fishing. I am 48 now. With all the druds and the prednisone and the limited mobility i went from 127lbs in 2018 to 305 at my heaviest! I'm at 270 now. My first treatment happened just like yours did!! Just listening to your story was like you were telling mine too with slight differences! Im glad you are ok! We made it! I hope this was ok to respond like this. Thank you so much for sharing your story. I've been down lately i will always be disabled and things are always going to be harder then they should but just knowing im not alone helps. I don't understand and i never will why this happened to me im just happy every morning when I realize I'm awake to make another day as best i can. ❤

I just got diagnosed with b cell lymphoma. I had several symptoms such as weight loss, chills, stomach issues, not being able to swallow normally, chest pain, and breathing issues with exertion. Biggest symptom was a swollen lymphnode in my groin area the size of a silver dollar. As of now, I don't know stage, etc. I just know that several lymphoids are affected. According to pamphlets I've read, I am stage 3 but won't 100% know until probably tomorrow. They say that it is slow growing but the node went from pea size to the really big one in my groin within about 3 months. Great story on your journey and I am elated that you have come through it like a champ!

Go listen to Dr. Thomas Seyfried on UA-cam. Cancer feeds on sugar and carbs. A ketogneic diet and parasite drugs like Fenbendazole can starve out the cancer cells. Plus a ketogenic diet can protect your body from the harmful side effects of chemo and radiation. Ketogenic diet heals.

This is for Lena: I am so glad you are in better health. You look so beautiful and youthful - it's not visible on your face how sick you were and in menopause to boot. Prayers for continued good health in the future! 🙏

You are an amazing and very beautiful lady!!! I’m so glad you came through all this awfulness and are out the other side. I feel in my heart that your husband has been amazing, too. It’s also very hard for the carer or the person closest to you. God bless and keep you, always. 💜✝️🙋‍♀️Chris.

I had a small fever and had lost some weight. My primary care doc got blood work and was concerned enough to send me to an oncologist right away. My dad had passed away from NHL. So saw the oncologist and had a battery of blood tests, two lymph node biopsies and a bone marrow biopsy. I was diagnosed with NHL, though the staging and type was TBD. I was slated to get a port for chemo. I had to tell my mom of the NHL diagnosis, I had to tell my children who were still young. Then my oncologist decided to do one more test. She tested me for Epstein Barr Virus. It came back positive. All my symptoms, enlarge spleen, enlarged lymph nodes, high white count, low red count, weight loss, night sweats, was all due to Epstein Barr. I was 24 hours away from surgery for my port and about two days from starting Chemo. It took four months to recover from the Virus and now I am fine. But if she had not done that one last test. I would have gotten the port and the chemo, and I would have recovered from "cancer" quickly. I am very thankful that last test was done.
