Glad they listened! It’s a nice looking reel! I’m ordering mine now! I’ve just rebuilt my plume with a set of microwave guides and silicone carbide Fuji guides for the tip section and even though it’s now got 13+1 guides it’s only added 1g it is completely different to use! It’s a massive improvement!
you must really love the Plume to do all that to a $75 rod lol. I fished the cormorrant/plume combo this weekend, only caught a 1.5lb spotted bass but wow it was fun
@@THEREELTEST not too much effort really, I regularly build and repair rod’s and it literally took an hour to rebuild it was done 2hrs after getting it lol! it’s pretty basic and rough! and $25 in materials for a much better rod! There’s a brief video on my channel looking at it, It’s caught a 55cm flathead plus a heap of smaller ones a couple of small trevaly and a heap of medium size yellow fin bream up to 40cm, I couldn’t use it as was for fear of hooking a small Gt or mangrove jack it’d probably burn the line into the resin as it lays below the blank! the spin version is fine though as is and I use it for catching mullet, small mackerel and herring for live bait. the bait cast is superior versus the spin there’s no comparison in casting accuracy or distance! even just using the dark wolf ultra!

To be honest, im not sure i am crazy about this paint either. Needs some accent colors. Sad bc its such a great reel. Glad they are listening to you. Great channel. Ive bought so many bfs reels because of you.

Love it brodie 🤙🏽 i will be grabbing one of these the drag sounds like a cog setup still but what they probably did was increased the cog teeth for smaller incremental ticks also probably used a way better metal then most manufacturers 2 get a different tone. Still waiting on my ARK GRAVITY BFS coming soon this ones a little pricey for a chinese reel i must say the Ifish clamber 2.0 with better handle, knobs and bearings added made it sooo much smoother either way the chinese market is changing the game with all these new additions for still a fraction of shimano prices 🤙🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🔥1❤️

Ok looking reel, still would take Aldebaron over it. I don't see $250 in that reel, maybe $189 tops. There is no longevity proven with Flight Feather, Shimano has more than proven their longevity and build quality. To each their own, choices are out there.
Here in Canada JDM reels are waaay overpriced at retailers (over CAD700 after tax for a brand new Aldebaran BFS), you might be able to find one from JDM websites but even then it is going to cost upwards of CAD500 after duty so it is an expensive reel. I agree the Japanese reels definitely have an edge on material / craftsmanship hence arguably better longevity, but the performance the FF01 offers at almost half the price of an Aldebaran is certainly not to be taken lightly. The best part is - I get to enjoy the reel and beat it up out on the water while having a spare one at home always in pristine condition for me to admire :P
@@nefarian908exactly it’s a tool and the shimano’s and daiwa’s and even the abu’s can sit on the shelf! They will be brilliant for the rest of time! And used on the right occasion. It’s logical not to wear your nicest shoes all the time!
A reel that doesn’t get fished is like a guitar that doesn’t get played. Pretty to look at, but a waste of so much potential.
@@kennethfriedl3428 yeah you’re right but at the same time if you put the hours in like I do a shimano or daiwa is pretty well dead after a year! There’s benefits in sharing the load between reel’s as you’ll find even the best wears out! I’m lucky to live with access to a wide variety of fish species and use a wide array of outfits especially suited to their tasks! some days I’ll have 2-3 rods on the boat other days I’ll have 6-8 depending on what I’m doing! So even my favourite reels get used at least a couple of times a month.

Dang I found this video too late it’s not on sale anymore! I’m seriously considering this between the 2022 shimano aldabaren which seems crazy but It’s my first bfs and I’m truly planning on staying below 1/8 ounce I have a bunch of 1/32 and 1/16 jigs

Good they seemed to listen to the reviewers and made some changes. I am just bummed the price is higher than I would want than the original flight feather. I can see just maybe a little more for the upgrades .

Twing is fluff "technology" in my opinion.

Right, because that's what everyone right handed does with baitcasters. It's same for spinning reels also, left hand retrieve.
That’s how it’s supposed to be. Lefty’s are supposed to fish with right hand retrieve and vice versa. You’re supposed to retrieve with the opposite hand you’re most comfortable throwing with. Some people learned to cast and retrieve both with their right hand out of necessity because for a long time left hand retrieve casting reels were harder to get. This was especially true with classic Abu Garcia round reels of old. Don’t ask me why that is. I really don’t know. It don’t make sense because most people throw right handed, but that’s how it was for a long time. Nowadays everyone makes Left and right hand retrieve bait casting reels (with the exception of Abu Garcia special edition round reels). Again, don’t ask me why. They should make them. Abu is missing out on a majority of anglers by not making them. I would love to see another re-release of the Abu Garcia Ambassadeur 2500c and 1500c but in both left hand and right hand retrieve. The last time they did a re-release of the 2500c back in 2009 they only did right handed. It’s so stupid. 🤦🏻♂️
Hopefully that reel doesnt start to go the ugly green colour like some other grey reels

All these light low line capacity reels have no use for serious fishing , but thanks for the content .
Maybe that’s true for you, but for those of us that fish small creeks and ponds where the fish rarely get over a foot long it’s perfect. Also works great for highly pressured bigger fish (12-20 inches) who are jaded from constantly seeing bigger baits being routinely presented to them by the average angler. It’s also way more fun to land a fish with underpowered tackle. It takes more skill and better technique. You should try it one day. I bet you’ll get hooked. 😉
Yeah i have landed sharks on 5 kilo mono line and a wire trace , it takes longer but yeah it makes the fight last a lot longer i do agree @@kennethfriedl3428
@@kennethfriedl3428 i hooked into a 3lb bass with my 22 Aldebaran BFS, fought him for over 3 minutes, he made several runs peeling drag that didnt even equate to 5 feet of line lol
