Ninja Gaiden 2 (NES) - The Parasprinter/Act 3-2 Theme (All Instrument Cover)

- Here's another classic track from 1990's Ninja Gaiden 2 on the NES, called The Parasprinter (also known as the Tower of Lahja and the Act 3-2 Theme). There's nothing two fancy about this theme, however, each of its 3 parts are extremely memorable hooks. Sometimes simplicity is where it's at.
For tracking, in addition to playing the main melodies on guitar, I also added some layers of keyboards to double the guitar parts. On drums, rhythm guitar, and bass, I extended the main theme with a hardcore breakdown type feel as the main theme is such a strong hook, it needs more than one playthrough per time through the song. Finally, on the 2nd verse section, I added some extra lead guitar melodies and modulated the bass line slightly to give the verse a longer B section type feel. The final arrangement was rather dense considering how close it stuck to the original tune.
This was a particular fun tune to put together, tracking and mixing was completed in 6 days as it really came together quickly! Super fun tune to knock out quickly!

if you wanna have some fun with motifs.... the captain bells memorial theme from 'Star Tropics' and this theme can be layered over each other and mashed up very easily!

Definitely! Might be a little bit until I return to the Ninja Gaiden 2 soundtrack, but there's a few other tunes from this game I really want to put together, such a great soundtrack!

Cheers! I would've thought this track would be more popular to cover, it's probably one of the top 3 in the game (although I guess the whole OST is pretty awesome top to bottom, something's gotta be less popular!) Definitely was fun to jam it out!
@thesosomusician After doing a quick search on covers of this song just now, I'm delightfully surprised to see it has been covered by more people now! I covered this song many years ago and at that time there weren't too many. Love to see classic vgm stuff get recognition by more people! Indeed the whole soundtrack to this game is a banger!

Subbed to you too! I went on a 20 year drought of having drums at home, so I'm definitely grateful to both be able to play at home and record, especially since drums are really my main instrument! Old ninja movies are great, they're so over the top I almost only have to add in sound effects!
