- 2009 - 2013 Toyota Corolla Radio Issue
Radio Works, but no music. I found a wire bracket in the trunk was broken and grounding out my audio. Easy fix with electrical tape
Thanks for pointing to the issue - I was able to fix the wife's radio!!! And I wanted to tell you that the copper looking wire should be connected to the speaker, the wire you move in frames 1:07-1:11 That is the wire that provides sound into to the speaker. My guess is you may need to replace that speaker. Best wishes and thank you!!
Awesome! Sounds great, he’s there can be different issues that arise from that connector and wires. Thanks for the feedback Jeffrey!
I was pricing out new speakers and how to install them. Then, I saw your video and man, I appreciate you! You saved the day and our road trip is back on track! Thank you!

This problem is a result of over packing the trunk.

I recently moved so I carelessly filled my car, after replacing my radio and looking for ither solutions I found the speaker didn’t work. Thank you man you solved my problem 😢😢

Didn't expect this to be the issue with my stereo system. Ez and quick fix. Thanks! As someone else pointed out, your red wire is disconnected from the speaker and will need to be soldered back on.
Thanks for your feedback and glad to help! You are correct
Yep my brother borrowed my 2009 toyota corolla and I saw him stuff his luggage into the trunk and the radio stopped working when he returned the car. Took me 30 seconds to bend the wire harness back and voila the radio worked. Thank you for the video.
Sorry for the late response! That’s awesome and glad the video helped :)
THANK YOU I APPRECIATE YOUR VIDEO SO MUCH. I was literally dealing with the same issue with the volume and no sound. @@proctoredtruth does this radio have Bluetooth?
@@nibbax7772 No, the stock radio does not have bluetooth. I used a bluetooth radio transmitter that plugged into my AC power outlet
@@proctoredtruth do you think it’ll work if I replace this radio with the one with Bluetooth? Like the Toyota brand radio with Bluetooth?
@@nibbax7772 If you have no other issues with you audio system, go for it! Although me personally i would recommend getting an aftermarket stereo with bluetooth. much cheaper and works great!

thank you!! it worked
glad to help!! 😎
Thanks for the video but I’m still confused as to what you did here. You just wrapped tape around that plastic bracket???
Hi thanks for the feedback, it was difficult to show in the video as it is a very tight space.
Essentially what I did what separate the wire and bracket from making continuity with the speaker, preventing it from being grounded.
After the video, I re-did my wrapping job as the first one was poor. Hard to do that while videoing in a tight space!
I hope this clears things up! 😄
Thank you very much !
glad to help 😄
Thanks for this! Do I wrap electrical tape around the white plastic piece only or do I need to wrap the copper wire as well?
You should only have to wrap it around the wire! It depends on how it broke off, as everyone’s situation is a little different. Just make sure there is no metal or wire coming in contact with the speaker 😃
You’re welcome!! Thanks for you your feedback
@@proctoredtruth thanks! Will give it a go!
@@stacyl5381 sounds good!! Best of luck to you

Heck yea! Glad to help
Awesome!
Thanks!
I had the same problem when I bought my Toyota Corolla 2011 recently... Because the sunlight the speaker dried up and tore, so was needed to change the rear speaker...
That can happen!
i have the same issue the radio works but no sound but i saw the parts and they don’t seem to be broken do yk anything else bout it or why it isn’t workin cause i am gonna be so bummed if there no other way and. gettin a new radio
Thanks for the feedback, this is only a common issue that the corollas can have. More than likely, there is another place in your audio system where your wires are grounding out the stereo and other speakers. If your radio is working fine, then the radio itself is not the problem, it’s more than likely your audio system wiring. Without actually looking at it I couldn’t help any further :/ wish you the best of luck
All 4 speakers of mine stopped working at the same time. No sound AT ALL (distorted or otherwise) not on mute. The touch screen radio (think called headset?) appears to be working normal even under audio features. Tried AM/FM/Bluetooth which even connects phone but still no sound. During a tire change the guy said he didn’t notice any problems w fuses? How can I check for self if I know nothing about cars let alone these intricate details / wires / trouble shooting. Really don’t want to face what some say needs replaced (the whole touch screen radio and was quoted around $800) could it be something else what should I look for / check ? Thanks !!!
Hi Alexis, I won’t be much help to you I’m afraid without actually looking at the car. More than likely your stereo is shorted out somehow, for the corollas this short in the trunk speakers is very common, but it could be elsewhere.
$800 sounds about right, but is a lot of money and it might not fix the real problem!
A lot of times, mechanics cannot properly diagnose these problems because of lack of knowledge and experience, or it may be difficult to pinpoint.
I would check the connection for the speakers in the back of your car, and honestly I couldn’t provide you much more guidance without seeing the car in person. Hope this clarify things and best of luck to you
PS, a JBL Bluetooth speaker works great in front of the windshield instead of spending $800, I had to do that a few years back
Thanks for sharing 😅
No problem! 👍🏼

I have the same issue except my tweeters are still working but the speakers are not...
Hello and sorry for the late reply! That is quite odd, it’s the stock stereo right?
BAM! Girlfriend is gonna be SO impressed 🎉
Have a blast with the speakers! Glad to help
I had this same issue, moved the wire, it made a sound then started smoking. I have absolutely no idea what to do now. 😭
Sounds like you have shorted something out.. check the fuse for the radio, I’d start there first. Shouldn’t be anything major. Where was the smoke coming from?
@@proctoredtruth the speaker itself. All the fuses I checked are fine and nothing out of the ordinary there. I even disconnected the affected speaker and still no dice 😔
@@Cerenaphor Sounds like you shorted the circuit would be my guess. If done a certain way.. that would disable your audio system for good. Only thing I would try is replacing that speaker.. and if it works.. yay!! If not make sure to keep that receipt 😬
Thanks
Glad to help!
Fusible del estereo? Gracias
¡Es posible! Tienes que revisar el fusible, mucha suerte, señor
For some reason I bind it the exact same way with the same issue and nothing happens. Is there a different issue that could be causing this?
Apologize for the late reply, yes it is possible that there is another issue with your stereo system. Do you have power to your radio?
@@proctoredtruth my console gets power but I get zero sound
@@supervegito8340 then, if you have a similar issue with the speakers in the trunk, and wires being messed up, there is something grounding your system in that area! Guarantee it
Are there any open ended/disconnected wires on the speakers in the trunk?
@@proctoredtruth the wires to the speakers themselves. I imagine just replacing the speakers should fix it?
Guys I found the problem with the radio but no sound .
My amo it was all wet and I dryer up with a heat gun and now is working perfect good luck and I hope this can help anyone
What is "amo" by the way?
@@Raussie91 did you find out what amo is
What happens when that's not the issue though?? All my wires are tight and connected
It could be another area where your wires are grounding out your stereo.. always check your fuses too! 🙂
@@proctoredtruth checked the fuzes, pulled the door cards, all wires seem intact, next step I guess is to pull the radio deck
@@gousmc1983 wow!! Never heard of that coming from a Corolla… that’s what I would do. Best of luck to you
Me paso Justo eso
¡Es muy común para la Corolla! Encantado de ayudar
I checked and there both good but still no sound
That problem could lie somewhere within the radio, or a speaker itself could be shorted out but that is a rare occurrence
My video isn’t always the answer. Everyone’s situation is different. Thanks for the insight and good luck!
ok but nothing borke in the trunk and no wires touching
could be the radio, or grounded somewhere else!
How much do I own you bro 😂😂😂cause I was about to spend 400$ for new radio
Nothing at all!! Glad I could help out, will be coming out with more content later!
This honestly makes me hate Toyota. You have to dismantle the entire car to replace the speakers but all you have to do to destroy them is shove a suitcase in the trunk
This happened to us on a road trip in a foreign country. Right now I'm trying to figure out why only one of the speakers isn't working and every time i work on it i have to take my car apart
This might be my issue

John 3:16-21
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
Mark 1.15
15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.
