I'm retired now, but I was the test engineer back in Aug-Oct. '92 that put Metrolink in service. I ran the first train to turn a wheel on startup morning, #100 out of Moorpark, then, after the quake 1-11-94, ran the first passenger train out of Lancaster since the the Daylights were pulled off. Nothing beats the real deal, never had any use for a simulator.
@@ThunderboltFan2000 I must apologize for taking so long to respond. We engineers had a fit over those stupid tooters, people could hardly hear them. Why last fatality was in North Hollywood. I guy on the track in front of me didn't hear me at all. I'm nearly standing on the horn button! The people running Metrolink wanted to pretend it was the old Pacific Electric. Nothing beats a regular air horn.
@@centralcaliforniaman I'm 4th generation Californian. We moved from Oxnard in August 1954 over to AV. We lived on 12 acres n the corner of Munz Ranch Rd. and Lancaster Rd., then over to W Ave H-14. I still have family there.
@@gordonvincent731damn also how much is the salary for a meyrolink average driver in the antelope Valley line because I feel like this job is challenging and simple at the same time
Lol yeah I was really hoping for a K2 like the actual rotems have... The MP36 simulator had a RS2M also lol. One thing that sucked was when I released the horn, the sound kept playing for a little while..
I personally prefer the K2 myself (as I have one). Much more pleasing to the ear. The RS2M is awful! I noticed except for the drive-in theater, the outside landscape is pretty sparse.
csulaguy I disagree, the RS2M IS AMAZING! Brings memories of the 1980s to 1999. Santa Fe, Conrail, BN, CSX, Wisconsin Southern, North Dakota Railroad, etc.
I've been reading all these comments, and I must correct you people on something. I'm a retired engineer, and I did not ever drive a train, that's what they do in Europe. We engineers run, or operate a train, not drive. Thank you.
@@d64tv06 Well, awhile ago Metrolink leased BNSF AC4400CWs to run in front of the rotem cars for safety reasons until they solved an issue and put them back into service. Something like that.
@Alex Casey, dude where is the link? He just asked for it man. That copy cat you just mentioned should not have this video and will make other people think this video is his.

gordon vincent Random Question: Did it feel strange to hear an actual whistle instead of an air horn
I used to live in lancaster!

I see a problem with the simulation...the PTC is actually working.
lol
Fun fact, most train sims for passenger or freight companies use either MSTS OpenBVE, Railworks, or Trainz
You did an excellent job. I thought you were going to miss a horn but you were on the ball!
Bruh just dumped into notch 8 🤣
I know this is different, but the Genesis P32AC-DM manual says to put it in run-8 when accelerating from a stop. Lol
Wow! You're so lucky! Awesome video!
OMG THIS LOOKS SO FUN !!
Sadly it looks like a simulator
