wow.. I need to be checking out those gems of stalls near Masjid Jamek one of these days. How much was the Koey Teow btw? Yes there are many spelling for it.. lol
You stay at area around Dang Wangi? That is close to Kampung Baru, only 5 minutes if u take the LRT train. There's a lot of choices for lunch at Kampung Baru 👌
ubi goreng means fried tuber.. goreng mean fry.. ubi is tuber.. it can be potatoes.. yam.. sweet potatoes.. or anything growing underground.. nothing fancy about it.. those people cater to office workers in that area..
So, would 'kentang' be the better word? Also, after having eaten the wedges I think they were baked rather than fried. Maybe 'kentang bakar' is what I should have said.
@@InternationalBigshotin Malaysia when we say just "ubi" it means tapioca. For other ubi we will call their specific name like ubi kentang, ubi keledek, keladi,... Etc. Oh tapioca is ubi kayu... But we just call it ubi.
@@myMotoring Thanks for the info! I've been using 'ubi' as if it meant potato. Another commenter told me that it could mean that--sort of--but not really. You're explanation helps.
Ubi goreng is fried tapioca... delicious n crunchy. Ever tried tapai ubi or tapai pulut or glutinous rice? Tapai is a sweet fermented dessert.
I don't think I've ever tried any of those, but I may have. I often find myself eating something and not really knowing what it is.

There are some vendors there every morning, but the 'market' as I call it is on Friday's. It usually starts around 11:00a.

Yes, I know. I go there a lot. There is one little restaurant that's only open in the morning that I like to get breakfast.
