I was just told yesterday about people using bells to call animals and at first I thought it strange…but then I recall the troubles I have going outside and talking because the cows come to my voice…clearly there is wisdom beyond just simply calling them with a bell for the sake of feeding!

We have this bell at our lake home in Wisconsin mounted on a post. The kids love to ring it every time they are near. What a cool piece of history.
I have one way up in the roof attic and cord runs 2 floors down to kitchen by window and all the cats come when i ring it.
I make bells like that in my back yard..Hot job but fun...

You should of dug your hole at least 3 to 4 feet deep and used more concrete.looks like 2foot deep and 20lbs of concrete?

What is the best Way to install it on the post? I installed a 4x4 post. The bell is 15" cast iron.
Use a 6x6 or 4x6 dig your hole at least 3 feet and use 2- 80lbs of concrete packed in with fill dirt.
