There are more than 103 million homeless people around the world today and the number is constantly increasing. That’s why the foundation of the British architect Norman Foster together with the Swiss firm Holcim developed the “Every Necessary Housing” project. It’s a prototype of fast-prefabricated homes that can be quickly built on site after natural disasters strike or when trying to escape from military conflicts to help homeless people. Foster’s homes are durable, safe and sustainable. The vaulted halls are wrapped in low-carbon concrete, which takes 24 hours to harden and has a 70 % lower CO2 footprint compared to the traditionally used.
