In some cities there are culture festivals put on. I know in my city ever since I was young we had at least an International Festival but then also festivals to other cultures like Japan. I went to my city's Japanese festival a lot when I was a young teen. My favorite memory was hearing Taiko Drumming echoing through the grounds while playing children's games. Such a vibe! Look into your city or nearest city and see if they have festivals or events like that. You could always try setting up your own festivals/events (if you are old enough) or maybe just have your own splatfest. Use water guns with food coloring colored water, play with friends and blast splatfest music. 😊
Funny thing. "Deep Cut" apparently is a musical term used to describe an outlier in an artist's filmography. This can be described as a Deep Cut too as it definitely takes more Traditional Asian roots in its music.
I know they did the same thing with one of the bands in Splatoon 2. Disspair, since in Japan a "Diss pair" is two foods that normally taste great, but horrible together. Like chocolate and chicken. Most of their names are puns or wordplay like that.
Interesting note because I love stupid details like this!!! Plus, Shiver and Frye are still in different places, left and right respectively, as well as big man in the center. All the sounds are coming from around the same area, in front of you. AND THAT PARALLELS THEIR LOCATIONS ON THE SPLATFEST BOAT THING All of them in roughly the same place but discernably to the left and right, and Big Man in the center! They totally do, every Splatoon song has official lyrics. You can find most of them online with a little bit of digging. It's just not in any language.
That's the point of the entire soundtrack - it's a proof of concept that lyrics don't need to have any meaning for you to enjoy the song. Some people say that listening to music in languages they don't understand can enhance the experience and this OST is a perfect example of it.
This is my favorite Splatfest song yet. It’s so well put together yet at the same time messy and chaotic. It sounds like a true celebration and people just having a good time.
I really want to see this song performed with a live orchestra using all of the traditional instruments that the song features, itd be so cool to see them all being played on the same stage
I really love Rainbow Anarchy, both because it so wonderfully represents and combines elements of the Japanese, Indian and Brazilian cultures the idols represent, but also because it really conveys what kind of characters Deep Cut are! Unlike a lot of media representations of chaos, where it's all dark and edgy and Super Serious tm, Deep Cut's performance is nothing but pure, exuberant joy and expression of self. It's a celebration of themselves and of the place where they live, and it's so bright and bold that the song itself feels alive. And I absolutely adore it! Frye, Shiver and Big Man are probably my favourites out of all the idols, because of their character designs, the roles they play in the story, and their personalities. They're intelligent and creative, picking up Idol work on the side to supplement their treasure hunting work and it shows in the song. Fast paced and hectic, but able to perfectly combine and overlay three very different parts.
An Anarchy Rainbow of different music types indeed. Love the transition from the north African music to Japanese and then to Brazilian music. I almost never commend a Nintendo game but i like good music so credit where credit is due.
I'm not a Splatoon player or fan, but seeing Shiver for the first time made me so happy. It's weird, but as someone who is Japanese, I've always felt like our media tends to stray away from portraying us small eyes, and especially with monolids. Shiver has thin eyes and monolids, which a lot of East Asians have, and it's something I hope we get to see more more in our media.
@woooooooooooooooooooooooo it's the reason a lot of east asians' upper eyelids appear smoother rather than having that sort of crease most other people have
perhaps this is mostly just an american thing, but we used to have an issue with doing very racist caricatures of Japanese people or just Asians in general. I wonder if there was an overcorrection away from that..
I swear, every time I go a little while without listening to this song, I'm always like "huh, it's been a while since I heard it. Now that the novelty's worn off, it can't really be as good as I remember, right?" And then I actually play it again and I find myself instantly jamming in my seat!! That beat, that melody, that bass line! It really IS that good, no matter how many times you listen!!! Splatoon 3's ost is just SO bangin'
I'm from chile, and in 0:49 I hear: "Aleluya esto es un ritmo, donde todos podrán bailar" "Hallelujah this is a rythm, where everyone can dance" Which makes sense to me, and now I can't unhear it... I know it's just gibberish, but it's curious nonetheless
I hear "I remember that we're so free now". I have a feeling this song is about being free and being together which makes me think about when the Inklings and Octolings reunited and they got along with each other and forgot about their pasts 0:46
Why do people dislike Deep Cut? The designs are soo unique and colorful, and especially the amount of personality they have. Shiver has a more mysterious and cold personality, Frye is energetic and loud, and Big Man is just the lil baby boy we all need :) I like how representing Nintendo made these characters, and not in an unsuccessful way (Like when they go out and make all the characters gay or black or white or tan or something). Shiver really represents Japan great, Frye is just so GREATLY MADE INDIAN/AFRICAN/SOUTH AMERICAN, and Big Man, idk, he's just Big Man in a GREAT way, and I love Deep Cut for that!
I remember hearing this song for the first time, watching that direct, this song and the splatfest reveal truly filled me with happiness, and the sense that Splatoon 3 was coming and I was ready. I remember when this video came out, in what feels like an entire age ago, and how the Splatoon 3 soundtrack helped me through such a critical period of my life. And I look back upon the game now, with grandfest done, and while there is a lot of positives, when I look at the groundwork, everything that the base game laid out... we deserved better. Not only that, Splatoon 3 deserved better. This concept, this joyous game built upon the fundamental desire for chaos and how chaos drives creativity and unifies seemingly clashing styles to create something beautiful, this deserved better than what Nintendo gave us post launch. And I will never not be disappointed in how this game was treated.
can't believe its been almost two years, this game has given me so many insane memories and has indirectly led to me meeting so many awesome people and actually finding my place in the community, and all of that leads back to this song. I played Splatoon 1 and 2, but after the very long wait between 2 and 3, I felt like interest in the series had burnt out for me, then I heard this song in the promotional video Nintendo released and I was hooked right back in.
I’m scrolling through these comments and I love seeing all the different lyrics for this. Really goes to show how good this embodies a variety of different cultures
...Huh. Just occurred to me, did we get an 'untamed badlands' styled setting and " _Anarchy_ Rainbow" because Chaos won the final Splatoon 2 Splatfest? (Like how Marie got the spotlight in 2's story after she won the first final Splatfest.) Would we have gotten more of a 'rebel in utopia/industrial sector/dictatorship' theme if Order won? (Shadowrun Squids, anyone?)
The 'rebel in dictatorship' route feels unlikely to me, since the entire vibe of the franchise is set on 'stay fresh' and a dictatorship's about the unfreshest thing there is, but most importantly, because instead of going plain edgy for Chaos, they chose a more positive 'cultural mashup' take on it. So they would've had to spin the concept of Order into something that still feels inherently *cool,* just like they did with Chaos.
@@3lH4ck3rC0mf0r7 'Dictatorship = unfresh' agreed, but that's where the 'rebel' part of it comes in. Persona 5, for example, is basically exactly that; a band of spunky rebels undermining would-be tyrants, and that game just oozes style. If I had to craft a Splatoon environment in that vein, my first thought is someplace where the Octarians actually have taken over and the surface is a big, sprawling, monotone (or sleek, hi-tech) corporate sector, maybe with 'Octavio is watching' posters. The player community would then be an inkling/defecting Octoling 'underground' (maybe even literally beneath the city) in the shape of an organized resistance, with the new batch of idols presented as a form of pirate radio. The story campaign could feature Octarians in business suits and a villain looking to stamp out the underground in favor of total control of the city/region. Second idea tosses the sinister aspect of Order out the window and plays up its positive aspects instead. Pokemon Sword and Shield turned its gyms into stadiums and its story into a giant tournament; picture a Splatoon where the player character is treated as an up-and-coming athlete looking to join one of the bigtime sponsored teams (each with their own brands and styles to fulfill the 'freshness' expectation) that dominate the local culture. The new idols could perform in 'halftime shows' and maybe double as sports commentators. The story mode might involve something like looking into organized cheating or a darker plot in play by one of the 'major league' teams built into the setting.
@@3lH4ck3rC0mf0r7 Shrug. Either well-organized resistance army vs mega-corporation (one form of Order vs another form of Order) or well-organized professional leagues. It's not like the Splatoon 3 we got is total anarchy either; rough-and-tumble, sure, but Splatfests are still organized events rather than random rabble-rousing.
i dont regret much in life, but man, i wish i played more of this game while it was still evolving. were approaching the final splatfest, so im a bit late, but you best believe ima show up for that.
I remember after i pushed myself to ruler +5 in a day, i stopped to enjoy Anarchy Rainbow for at least half and hr just cause how good it is, really gives off Brazilian parade vibes and thats why itll be one of my top fav Splatoon songs
Coming back to this during splatfest because i feel like they went too hard on the realistic atmospheric audio that you can barely hear this and enjoy it. i wanted it to be blasting throughout the square. idk it's kind of disappointing. guess I'll play the song on my phone when im in the square lol
update: it changed for the half way point! now they're all together and the music Is blasting throughout the square. thank god. this is what i wanted 🙏 the only thing I'd change is have the splatfest theme play during all the matches. you spend most of splatfest playing in them.. so you barely get to hear the song!
In the Splatoon lore Splatsville is canonically located right next to where Paris was. It could even be right where Paris was located cause the Eiffel tower could've been washed up by the great flood and pushed a couple thousand meters.
this song was first revealed in the splatoon 3 direct 2 years ago as of today! crazy how time flies!! no matter how many times i hear this song, i’m always reminded more of the direct than i am the actual times i’ve heard it in game!!
i have no idea how but EVERY time i listen to this song i get so emotional. the first time i listened to it i cried like im not even joking. i do NOT know what they put in this song but good job guys keep it up
its all so amusing bc the first thing i thought of listening to this was 'this sounds like home.' its a lil weird to explain but its bc of all the blending of different ethnic music, especially because I'm of mixed race, so many things from not only my mother n father's culture's were integrated into the lives of my siblings n I, but even my friends had help in that. I think its perfect because this game takes place in an area of the world that's a literal melting pot of cultures ; u ;

They're intelligent and creative, picking up Idol work on the side to supplement their treasure hunting work and it shows in the song. Fast paced and hectic, but able to perfectly combine and overlay three very different parts.
(Waves arms and sways to the rhythm happily)

@@asher879 (why not both since it's a festival)
Everytime i feel down i put this on. Never fails in making me smile
Finally. A trio instead of a duo. This is gonna be beast! Culture reunion~
An Anarchy Rainbow of different music types indeed. Love the transition from the north African music to Japanese and then to Brazilian music. I almost never commend a Nintendo game but i like good music so credit where credit is due.
I've never gotten the chance to play Splatoon but it looks like a really cool game, the songs are absolute bangers
your damn right it’s cool
One of the best things about Splatoon is the music!
Me in june 2021, playing MarioKart8dlx for the first time: "What is an "Inkling"?!"
Me in 2022: Enjoying digital cephalopod music.
Thus song just gives an aura of pure fun
I'm not a Splatoon player or fan, but seeing Shiver for the first time made me so happy.
It's weird, but as someone who is Japanese, I've always felt like our media tends to stray away from portraying us small eyes, and especially with monolids.
Shiver has thin eyes and monolids, which a lot of East Asians have, and it's something I hope we get to see more more in our media.
Exactly! 💗
Sorry to be ignorant lol, but what's a monolid?
@woooooooooooooooooooooooo it's the reason a lot of east asians' upper eyelids appear smoother rather than having that sort of crease most other people have
@@hankboog462 Ah thank you 👍
perhaps this is mostly just an american thing, but we used to have an issue with doing very racist caricatures of Japanese people or just Asians in general. I wonder if there was an overcorrection away from that..
when big man said "CORNDOG IN A BOWL" i felt that 😔
Truly inspiring words!
Probably my favourite Splatfest theme (as someone who's played since the Wii U). The music for Splatoon never misses.
Same all the way!
@santipro2463based of the fact that nostalgia takes over
our city is having a seafood festival soon, gonna go around blasting this
Is that woody from bfb
*did you do it?*
@@soulofflame9999 That was back in october, and yeah, I did it
@TheCoolDude1111 *you did it, you crazy madlad or madlass, you did it.*
Love this music it feels like a _football_ celebration song or a fiesta 🎉 ⚽
Brasil flashbacks* 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
Me too
I swear, every time I go a little while without listening to this song, I'm always like "huh, it's been a while since I heard it. Now that the novelty's worn off, it can't really be as good as I remember, right?" And then I actually play it again and I find myself instantly jamming in my seat!! That beat, that melody, that bass line! It really IS that good, no matter how many times you listen!!! Splatoon 3's ost is just SO bangin'
vibe check1000% not gonna fail bc of this fricking bop
you're a gigachad 😎
@@TheRealLelek GigaChad counter: 3
Cause I agree
I'm from chile, and in 0:49 I hear:
"Aleluya esto es un ritmo, donde todos podrán bailar"
"Hallelujah this is a rythm, where everyone can dance"
Which makes sense to me, and now I can't unhear it... I know it's just gibberish, but it's curious nonetheless
0:07 the clapping sounds is just so good
I love that this culture just accepts good vibes in all forms
god going from wave goodbye to this gives you whiplash seriously
Also at 0:56 all I can here is put on a big sombrero and it makes my giggle everyone I hear it
never played splatoon but this has to be one of my favourite osts from this series
I hear "I remember that we're so free now". I have a feeling this song is about being free and being together which makes me think about when the Inklings and Octolings reunited and they got along with each other and forgot about their pasts 0:46
This sounds like it could be a theme song for the Fifa World Cup
Absolutely!
FR THO
Honestly would've been a better world cup song than the song that took less than .5 seconds to write lmao
Would've made better advertisements too✨
yeah because of the whistles relate
This is what joy sounds like, plain and simple.
I don't play spatoon, but man do i love the vibes this franchise gives off. It's so colorful and fun. (with a pretty dark lore)
The Fact that you can request this song at the jukebox is truely magnificent. However, Grizzco. Needs to do that too in my opinion.
The fact i know every single lyric by heart and speak none of these languages 💀
well that s Splatoonian langauage of inklings and octolings
Splatfes makes me realize how little festive events are irl, like dang can we have bangers like this with all the noise and fun it brings?
GOD DAMMIT THIS SONG ALWAYS MAKES ME WANT TO DANCE
World music isn't something you get in a lot of video games. I'm glad it's being represented in a game as big as Splatoon!
This always gets me excited to play more splatfest
@@backgroundnpc9631 Yeah, that could work, but I don't know if that exactly screams 'order' to me.
@@backgroundnpc9631 Mhm
This is just a bop, can't get enough of this song tbh
i dont regret much in life, but man, i wish i played more of this game while it was still evolving. were approaching the final splatfest, so im a bit late, but you best believe ima show up for that.
in all my years as a a splatoon player and fan, since one, i only came to this after listening to the W-3 remix
"Babe please stop youre not Splatoon 3 Anarchy Rainbow!!!"
Me:
Hallelujah! Dame el sombrero 1:02
Finally! I'm too listen it!
"Hallelujah give me the hat"
-Translate to English
to me it sounds like "Aleluya, es un ritmo" (Hallelujah, its a rhythm)
i can never unhear it
I cannot describe how much I love this song
This is so clean
I’ve been listening to this for so long! I’m building Inkopolis Square in bloxburg rn, and whilst making a Deep Cut apartment I vibed to this!
I love this song
I remember after i pushed myself to ruler +5 in a day, i stopped to enjoy Anarchy Rainbow for at least half and hr just cause how good it is, really gives off Brazilian parade vibes and thats why itll be one of my top fav Splatoon songs
THIS *NEEDS* TO PLAY THE NEXT TIME THE OLYMPICS IS IN TOKYO
I was in Nintendo tokyo and this song was played there, man, tears of joy.
Coming back to this during splatfest because i feel like they went too hard on the realistic atmospheric audio that you can barely hear this and enjoy it. i wanted it to be blasting throughout the square. idk it's kind of disappointing. guess I'll play the song on my phone when im in the square lol
update: it changed for the half way point! now they're all together and the music Is blasting throughout the square. thank god. this is what i wanted 🙏
the only thing I'd change is have the splatfest theme play during all the matches. you spend most of splatfest playing in them.. so you barely get to hear the song!
Hits the chorus and I have a religious experience. Deep Cut where have you been all my life
I love it because it’s more festive type
this is really nostalgic, even though its fairly recent, to me
i remember ""cramming and studying"" for my exams while listening to this
I will never get tired of this song lol it just makes you want to danceeeee
I am *DEAD* serious when I say this should be our Global anthem if we ever had to compete against other planets in an intergalactic olympics…
i really love this song it uses a lot of talent and its the best song in the world and it vibes
ABSOLUTE favourite Splatoon soundtrack! Big thank you to the creators!
this song goes SO HARD, hearing this for the first time in the Splatfest demo made me tear up
i have no idea how but EVERY time i listen to this song i get so emotional. the first time i listened to it i cried like im not even joking. i do NOT know what they put in this song but good job guys keep it up
its all so amusing bc the first thing i thought of listening to this was 'this sounds like home.' its a lil weird to explain but its bc of all the blending of different ethnic music, especially because I'm of mixed race, so many things from not only my mother n father's culture's were integrated into the lives of my siblings n I, but even my friends had help in that. I think its perfect because this game takes place in an area of the world that's a literal melting pot of cultures ; u ;
I was convinced that Calamari Inkantation would be my favorite song, but Deep Cut's Anarchy Rainbow is too close to call it second place...
this is a bop
during the chorus i can’t help but hear “hallelujah, the blessed rainbow” lol
