OMG!! You’re theory on Nikolai acting weird at the end being the Darkling in control makes SO MUCH SENSE!! Nikolai really just didn’t seem the same and I never even CONSIDERED why!!
Why did Isaak have to die?? He was just a sweet awkward boy who didn’t ask to get dragged into any of this bs!🥺 I still like six of crows and crooked kingdoms a lot better (they are my fav books ever) but i still loved this book!
oh my god, I thought I liked Zoyalai and then I watched this video and I realized no one will ever get on the level of zoyalai supporter you are achieving rn
i just finished reading king of scars and tbh this is the only book review that i can relate. matthias and nina is my favorite shio even though kaz and inej is also amazing. and i can't really ship nina and hanne because i still ship her with matthias and probably ever will. as for zoya and nikolai.. i liked zoya since the first time i read crooked kingdom (fun fact i didn't read the grisha trilogy cause i don't like first person pov). the way nina describe her is just wow and that moment nikolai said "you'd be surprised" my heart was like "okay that's the new ship" and king of scars ruined me, especially the part when zoya told nikolai about her backstory, when she killed juris (i cried) when nina burried matthias, and at the end when zoya realize that all these times she force nikolai to marry other princess when deep down zoya love him and didn't want to admit it because he's the king that everyone loves and she's a grisha that comes from a poor family, a small village, and no royal blood at all. oh and i also smile non stop the moment that zoya hugged genya cause i know that they hate each other in the first trilogy. and can we talk about how zoya let herself drown to lure the monster out of nikolai and that moment nikolai save her when she was falling? cause honestly that part scream love louder than i'll ever do
oh my GOD !! Ok so that ending honestly had me shaking. I was thrilled that Aleksander was back because I loved him as a villain, but I’m also TERRIFIED because he wreaked so much havoc in the Grisha trilogy. And my first thought after seeing him return was,, is Alina coming back as well? Because let’s be honest, Alina will probably be MORTIFIED that he’s not dead and is still alive. And let’s be honest, there’s no way in hell The Darkling isn’t going to try and go out looking, or at least ask, for her. If Alina does come back, will she be angry? Or will she be too scared to do anything, kind of like how Genya and Tolya and Tamar were when they realized Yuri was not Yuri but Aleksander. But gOLLY GEE ! I’m gonna be so honest, it was a huge mistake reading this book without rereading the past two series because I missed so many things like LEONI. SHSHSBBSNSNS OH MY GOSH THE FACT THAT JESPER’S MOMSHHSEJEHBFHEE AAAAAAA!!!!! Honestly, I didn’t enjoy this as much as I enjoyed Six of Crows. But! That might have been because I was completely lost in the beginning and trying to catch up on a trilogy worth of characters and worldbuilding for a good half of the book. I’m definitely going to reread the Grisha trilogy (which is already making my heart twist). And the fact that Hanne’s father is JARL BRUM. O O F ! I WAS TERRIFIED ! I could feel Nina’s terror through the pages. Also can we talk about how Kuwei named himself ‘Phoenix.’ I honestly don’t expect anything less from him, but dang he’s conceited. This book was one train wreck after another. And tbh my favorite couple was probably Genya and David in this book. I loved their dynamic, and when David threatened to kill Yuri when he insulted Genya????? OOF MY HEART 💞💕💞 BUT !! Also isn’t this just a duology? It’s making me wonder what exactly Leigh is planning because SO MUCH happened in just O N E book. How is Nikolai gonna handle The Darkling in just one book? I’m terrified !
I also loooooved this one! Zoya definitely won my heart in this one. This felt almost more like her story than Nikolai's, and I'm not mad about it (love Nikolai though I do). Finding out her backstory was so interesting and made me love her EVEN MORE. I cried so much reading Nina's chapters. I actually really love her budding romance, though! I WAS LISTENING TO THE AUDIOBOOK AND ACTUALLY GASPED ALOUD WHEN I MADE THE CONNECTION BETWEEN LEONI AND JESPER'S MOM. The ending was a WILD ride and I cannot wait to see where the story goes from here!
SAME SAME SAME!!!! Your opinions match mine to a T. ALso dying because Darkle Sparkles!!!! I love the Darkling and am so glad to see him back, I'm dying in anticipation of what he'll do in the next book! You also made great points about Nikolai's character at the end I definitely thought there was something up with the whole royal engagement thing but I never thought it might have to do with the remnant of the demon inside him. Also I totally agree with Nina and Matthias, I'm not ready for her to move on, tbh don't think I will ever be okay with her moving on, and I definitely saw that Jesper's mother thing too!
This book is so heartbreaking!! Ur theory on Nikolai acting weird at the end feels totally right! AND THE DARKLING IS BACK, SO I'M JUST DYING FOR THE NEXT BOOK!!!!!
I'm Brazilian and I'm watching this video and I fell so in love for you gorgeous! kKkk best part it's see that my English it's good enough to understand you!!! I love the video!
I just finished the book and came across your video. I love your review! You are hilarious and you ARE a winner! Question: why did Nikolai have silver beads in his coat pockets? Isaak (impersonator) kept finding them in Nikolai's pockets. Great video, I just subscribed!
Yess I was wondering the same thing! It was never explained or maybe I missed something, but I feel like it meant something important and it bothers me that idk
OMG....yasssssssssssssss honey!!!!!! I"m here for Zoya's growth. But if people take the time to read there are reasons why Zoya closed herself off and became cold and closed off. Man....WTH...Give Zoya the throne. Zoya should be Queen of Ravaka. No one mentions this much but Zoya is warming up to Genya. Yasss Girl..BFF power!!!!
I read “The King of scars” in Russian. I had a lot of feelings, but when you said about Zoe, princess Eri and Nicolai, l cried😭 I've never felt this way before) Thank you for your emotional story! Thank you for my new emotions! Thank you for your brilliant review😃
I finished this book last night While I never finished grisha trilogy but I do love soc and ck And I really enjoy this book And Iam a trash for Zoya and Nikolai and when I go to gooreads I saw many people commenting against zoya x nikolai because they are disaster plus they said zoyalai dont have chemistry ? I mean whyyyy I dont care I ship zoyalai and going to stick with this ship. I love your video because finally I found someone that like this book as much as I am
SO im late to the party but im so glad i found your channel through this video! You're so funny! And finally someone that loved the book and felt ruined by it at the same time just like me XD
Wait so if Grisha can control anything they like just like how Zoya controlled the saps as a tidemaker even though she is a Squaller, and also going with the idea, "Aren't we all things?" then if she as well as the other Grisha orders want, can they also become Sun Summoners? If whatever Juris had said was true?
Hello y'all , i need help , i wanna ask can read king of scars without reading trilogy of shadow and bone ? Like i have read crooked kingdom and six of crows but not trilogy of shadow and bone.. I'll really appreciate it if someone can tell me ✨
I have never seen a video as relatable as this one lol. Also completely agree with you I am not on board with this nina and hanne train I mean Mattias just died and my heart is still shattered😑💜😥😢
I was honestly kinda disappointed by King of Scars even though I did really enjoy it. Part of the reason I enjoyed it so much despite my complaints was because I just loved the characters, I loved the world and the magic and all that. Also I loved your review😂😂you're a QUEEN Also is it possible that the next book will be titled Queen of Storms cause...I'd kinda love that title
Unfortunately my experience with the book is... Not so great. I'm more than half way and I been reading it since release trying to power through it because I keep telling myself I love Leigh's work so this book is good too and if I just keep going she's going to pull the rug from under me. But more than halfway now and I think I'm convinced that... I actually really don't like this book... I haven't ever even been able to tell which character is which. They all blend and seem the same. I can never remember who is who. Only Zoya the priest Nicholas stand out not including the six of characters. And even still I'll admit those three have little to separate them from. The other characters. Even Nina's travel partners blend together. I can't seem to really tell who they are or what they do. Just a lot of ... Incredibly unforgettable characters. Quite frankly even Nina seems to be toned down in this story. The forgettable characters aside the pacing is... Interesting. I honestly feel like I've been reading the same thing since the start of the book and literally nothing has changed. The shackles the beast the fear how it'll fuck up the future of ravka and how badly nicholas needs a wife. I feel like I've read this over and over and over and over and over and now more than halfway through this book. I'm still reading the same thing. I'm still going to keep pushing and hope for a rug pull... But I'm not sure at this point that even if some huge thing happens to change all my views of it currently that I can really look at the duology as a whole and never not say majority of the first book is forgettable repetitive agony study and character wise. At this time I definitely can not even remotely agree that this book could hold a candle to six of Crows.
"God really is a woman and that woman is Zoya Nazyalensky" IS SUCH A M O O D AND I'M HERE FOR IT!!!!
stop and consider the fact that you’re wrong. A QUEEN. the quality JUMPED OUT
I will ALWAYS mourn Matthias. And also give me a Zoya duology!!
Juris...?
The Dragon Queen ✨
I CANNOT move on from Matthias yet. It's been two months! WTH! I don't think that's realistic...
OMG!! You’re theory on Nikolai acting weird at the end being the Darkling in control makes SO MUCH SENSE!! Nikolai really just didn’t seem the same and I never even CONSIDERED why!!

Can I read king of scars if i read six of crows but didnt read the trylogy and dont know who the heck is nickolai?
Yes you can but you're gonna be really confused since King of Scars' main focus is on the Shadow and Bone characters.
Im listening, but I’m having a hard time believing anyone could be better than kaz and Inej
Fangirls be like: "Am I gonna have to wait a whole year before their lips touch?"
What about Kaz and Inej?
OMG I felt exactly the same about this book :D And I was so not over Matthias
I still can't forgive Leigh for killing Matthias😖
Me neither. Still hoping that they will change it in the show...
@@ladyenaira9726 SO many things that I would love for them to change (*cough* let Alina keep her powers you cowards *cough*)
