Hi I'm a teacher. My country just adapted the CEFR system a few years ago. There is a section called "Organisation" where you can award 0 - 5 marks. It depends on the level of the question, but what makes me confused is this.
To get 5 marks, "Use simple connectors and A LIMITED NUMBER of cohesive devices appropriately".
To get 3 marks, "Text is connected using BASIC high frequency connectors".
To get 4, if the essays share the features of scores 3 and 5.
Since connectors are under cohesive devices, I'm very confused. Could you help explain the differences please?

To achieve band 3, the students is expected to use basic, high frequency connectors, whereas at band 5 they are expected to use a limited number of cohesive devices, such as connectors, pronouns, substitutions nouns, reference words, etc.
