that whole Philly Sound dominated black music from the late 60's until the mid 80's ( The Delfonics, The Intuders, the Stylistics , Teddy, Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes, Blue Magic, Lou Rawls, The Spinners , Billy Paul, The Jones Girls, The O'Jays etc etc etc)
Mr. Gamble doesn't get the credit he deserves for trying to buy up properties & landmarks all over downtown Philly & South Philly & try to counter gentrification & keep them in black hands..its a shame they couldn't save , renovate & restore The old Philly International Records headquarters on South Broad Street & turn it into a historical tourist attraction a la Hitsville USA in Detriot

The jacksons were minors at Motown that's why they couldn't stay in the studio all times of the night.

You touched on Phyllis but I would have asked about “Betya by golly wow” which demonstrated the depth and diversity of their music. I also would have asked about Linda Creed, who Thom Bell created many hits. Linda’s story was sad.

Teddy was a forerunner for Mister Cee and the TSOP would not have been anything without MFSB are responsible for Love Is The Message much like the Funk Brothers the band was behind the Motown sound. Frankie Crocker the best DJ to ever talk into a mic, saw the potential in Hip-Hop because the original artist emulated his confederates from WWRL.
