    Some great places to start styling too are places like Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Sax 5th, Dillard’s, and Macy’s that put you in the position to styling people.
    I work at Dillard’s it’s definitely a good place to start cause now I’ve built over 3 years a client base over 500 people

    This was a GREAT video, I took so many notes but it also assured me that I can do what I've always dreamed of. Sometimes we get caught in our mind and thoughts that we overthink the process. Im learning now to Just Do It!!! all it takes is a start and each time you do it after that you get better and perfect your craft. As an aspiring stylist, Thank You for this video.

    Hey Bri! I think my biggest struggle right now is the sacrifice part. I’m 22 and have a full time corporate job, I have an interview on Monday to be a Fashion Stylist and I want to just take it and leave this place for good. But at the same time, I have bills and this position is only part time…I still live with my parents so I feel like it’s the perfect time to take this leap of faith. I’ve been self sabotaging and putting off leaving because I’m scared of what will happen. I really want to put my all into this and just see what happens. This video helped a lot thanks for being so transparent with your advice!

      Hi Jhordyn!! Thank you so much for your message 🥰. Now... I would NEVER tell you to quit your job, especially if you have responsibilities to take care of but what I will say is since you are home, map out all of your bills to see if the amount you bring in from your part time will cover your expenses. If this is not a retail styling position then you will have flexible hours. The blessing is you have everything you need right now. You have your family, a job, your creativity and passion to styling and this styling opportunities PLUS you are not financially stressed. See how the interview goes (I know you'll kill it), map out your expenses (watch my latest video on budgeting) and keep building your portfolio, the right opportunity will be waiting for you. I managed a full time job at a point in my career while styling. So right now gain as much experience you can. Master your skills and keep pushing!!

I am also moving back to Italy next summer, to Milan, which as you know is the fashion capital of the world. So I will definitely start with with building that brand. Thanks again

    What if you don't want to work with celebrities, but with normal every day people? Those that are coming in and need help finding an outfit for an event, etc. You don't need to do a fashion show and you don't need makeup artists. You just want to help that person find an outfit for their event or occasion, whether it be a girls night out or a black tie wedding. That is my goal. I want to work somewhere, where a customer will walk in and ask me for help finding an outfit for the event. I would also recommend shoes, jewelry, and how to style their hair. My clientele would be solely women, from young adults and up.

    • @briwisestyle
      @briwisestyle  11 місяців тому +2

      If you are saying you want people to “walk in and ask you for help” this would be a retail stylist. Many brands and department stores list this position as this “Retail Stylist”. If you are wanting to build your own personal styling business, that would incorporate you building your portfolio and brand.. then outreach and marketing your services! Hope this helps✨ the channel has a tun of videos to help you do this or you can check out the Stylist Started Kit!
