And it doesn’t give any immediate advantage (like say blood self transfusions), it will push the muscular mass if one starts to take quantities measured in grams for periods of months. In Jannik urines were found traces of the metabolite accounting for some (I believe 27) billionth of a gram. As Andy Roddik well said “if he (Sinner) really took that shite to enhance performance, he’d be not just number one in ATP ranking, but number one as the worst doper in history “

Fritz is a good player, but as Tiafoe in Cincinnati, as Draper in the semifinal, had no chance. People like Sinner have a game plan and multiple solutions, same Alcaraz and Djokovic. The US social pressure (especially in NY) pushed him to say “I am pretty convinced I will win”, in the US people like to dream, most would have said he was a loser if he said “winning is very difficult but I will try hard”. Now people do not like him because he was sincere and said “I am sorry I disappointed many”, again people think this is a loser attitude, he should have smiled and acted as he won, that would have been more “American”. The US woman finalist of the mixed doubles said in the interview she won anyway as she is the number one of her color. Fritz should have said he was number one among the humans.

Only one, it's the Sinner era, he is close to 5,000 points over Alcaraz in the ranking, Alcaraz is not even #2. There is only one king of tennis, he arrived just in time to replace Novak. Wouldn't be surprised at all if Sinner wins all 4 slams next year, something that not even the big 3 achieved.

The third set was bad but I think it was more because of mental collapse. I’ve seen his improvements in the last year or so, whereas in Shelton, though younger, I haven’t seen any improvements in his game.

The only thing that I think he is absolutely elite at is movement and work ethic, but unfortunately that’s not enough to win a slam. I’m not sure that his forehand will ever be a reliable weapon. It can be great when it’s on, but even when it’s one I wouldn’t call it an elite forehand. Backhand is solid. Serving is average. Volleys I would say are above average. I just can’t see him improving enough in any of those areas to be able to challenge for a slam. Maybe I’m wrong, but Tommy is already 27 so if he’s going to win a slam it has got to be within the next 3-5 years in all likelihood

If someone in the team is lying it would be because he has been corrupted to actually make Sinner fail. Sinner did only take damage from this since no doping can be achieved in tennis trough clostebol that need months if not years of application at any quantity to make a difference.
Actually, WADA got a 3 week extention because it was not happy with the 50 document ITIA gave on the ruling. So it asked for further documentation allowing itself till end of september to decide.
Considering the rumour: In general the athletes are told they failed the drug test, and then not specifically which drug they tested for. In Jannik's case, his physio knew right away "ah yeah it be Clostebol", and because they knew - they could file against the preliminary suspension. This is my understanding. For reference, Tara Moore failed a drug test and she had no clue what it was, couldn't file against suspension, etc. Turns out... she ate contaminated meat... at an official ATP location... So it was completely out of her hands. She basically got shafted lol because she was in the dark and innocent at the same time. But yeah my understanding is that they just knew right away what the fail was for, and hence could set in motion the counter suspension.
why I don't like Fritz as a person, although I respect him as tennis player is the same reason why I don't like Zverev. They are both arrogant, self-imposing personalities. something in the lines of - I'm too good to be loosing, and I'm better then you, so that's why I should be winning. There is a thin line between being self-confident and being arrogant. Jannik and Carlos never crossed this line as of yet, Zverev and Taylor..., oh boy.
It's interesting because I completely agree about Zverev, but I don't see it with Taylor (yet). Tsitsipas and Kyrgios also fall in this group in my opinion. They're acting like they should be winning more while the other players are just better than them and have actually corrected their weaknesses, it makes it feel like they're entitled.
Johaug got 2 year suspension but her case was a bit different. She really used the lip balm albeit she did not know it contained clostebol. The national team doctor bought the cream himself. He also assured her that it's not part of WADA-prohibited drugs. He resigned though but of course, Johaug has to suffer the consequences. It was believed that she received the cream with full packaging that had a doping warning in it.
Well whether Sinner is innocent or guilty, nobody knows for sure. But the incontrovertible fact is that he was treated with kid gloves compared to other players under similar circumstances. That is totally unjust and unfair. He should have been at least placed under interim suspension till completion of investigation and tribunal verdict. But instead he was given a free pass and how anybody can deny it. 😂😂😂 And the whole episode was under wraps for over 5 months making it even more murky. Sinner's skipping of Olympics on the flimsy premise of Tonsils only accentuated the whole opacity about it. Even that stripping off 400 points became a farce as Novak would have become No 1 for two more weeks in such a scenario.
That's not true. A tennis player ranked 350 in the world, who had the same problem as Sinner, was treated in exactly the same way. He was innocent and did not serve a single day of disqualification. Do you want to understand that the cases of Halep and Sharapova are different?
Fritz always shows a little too much disappointment in his losses, most of the time noticed in his press conferences. But that’s OK if he takes losses seriously and works hard to get better, which I think he did.
Tennis needs new fans. Nick Kyrgios and Novaxx Dkovid are awful. Will be interesting to see how many Serbians leave the sport - Matt you will have to let us know about the stats ❤ and if you consider Serbs as real tennis fans when they leave the sport
Matt, with all respect, even the guys you play at your local tourneys are likely to be on something. Doping is part of every sports, from professionnals to amateurs. I don't blame the athletes, it is a requirement for them. That being said, Sinner and his team are real donkeys for being caught, in an environment where nobody wants to catch you.
What I know is that he got caught, his results were canceled, his atp points and prize money stripped away from him. The ITIA and tennis instances tried to minimize and cover the story, which backfired terribly and ended in PR disaster. That's the facts. Embarrassing to say the least. How many excuses for Sinner, this is unbelievable. As far as I remember, tennis players who missed doping tests were suspended for a year or more. Troicki, for example, received a 16-month suspension because he couldn't give blood for a test, not because of the presence of any substance. If something similar were found with Medvedev or Djokovic, they would probably be publicly lynched and suspended for at least 5 years. Double standards as always...

If someone in the team is lying it would be because he has been corrupted to actually make Sinner fail. Sinner did only take damage from this since no doping can be achieved in tennis trough clostebol that need months if not years of application at any quantity to make a difference.

Actually, WADA got a 3 week extention because it was not happy with the 50 document ITIA gave on the ruling. So it asked for further documentation allowing itself till end of september to decide.
Considering the rumour: In general the athletes are told they failed the drug test, and then not specifically which drug they tested for. In Jannik's case, his physio knew right away "ah yeah it be Clostebol", and because they knew - they could file against the preliminary suspension. This is my understanding.
For reference, Tara Moore failed a drug test and she had no clue what it was, couldn't file against suspension, etc. Turns out... she ate contaminated meat... at an official ATP location... So it was completely out of her hands. She basically got shafted lol because she was in the dark and innocent at the same time.
But yeah my understanding is that they just knew right away what the fail was for, and hence could set in motion the counter suspension.

It's interesting because I completely agree about Zverev, but I don't see it with Taylor (yet). Tsitsipas and Kyrgios also fall in this group in my opinion. They're acting like they should be winning more while the other players are just better than them and have actually corrected their weaknesses, it makes it feel like they're entitled.
Johaug got 2 year suspension but her case was a bit different. She really used the lip balm albeit she did not know it contained clostebol. The national team doctor bought the cream himself. He also assured her that it's not part of WADA-prohibited drugs. He resigned though but of course, Johaug has to suffer the consequences. It was believed that she received the cream with full packaging that had a doping warning in it.

Well whether Sinner is innocent or guilty, nobody knows for sure. But the incontrovertible fact is that he was treated with kid gloves compared to other players under similar circumstances. That is totally unjust and unfair. He should have been at least placed under interim suspension till completion of investigation and tribunal verdict. But instead he was given a free pass and how anybody can deny it. 😂😂😂
And the whole episode was under wraps for over 5 months making it even more murky. Sinner's skipping of Olympics on the flimsy premise of Tonsils only accentuated the whole opacity about it.
Even that stripping off 400 points became a farce as Novak would have become No 1 for two more weeks in such a scenario.
That's not true. A tennis player ranked 350 in the world, who had the same problem as Sinner, was treated in exactly the same way. He was innocent and did not serve a single day of disqualification. Do you want to understand that the cases of Halep and Sharapova are different?
Fritz always shows a little too much disappointment in his losses, most of the time noticed in his press conferences. But that’s OK if he takes losses seriously and works hard to get better, which I think he did.

Matt, with all respect, even the guys you play at your local tourneys are likely to be on something. Doping is part of every sports, from professionnals to amateurs. I don't blame the athletes, it is a requirement for them. That being said, Sinner and his team are real donkeys for being caught, in an environment where nobody wants to catch you.

Anyone who writes that Sinner is doped is essentially one of the following categories: either he is a hater of his, or a toxic fan of others, or a troll who only wants to provoke, or someone who speaks by hearsay without knowing the facts, the rules and the ITIA documents.
The ruling of the independent tribunal, with the positive opinion of experts including WADA itself, says that "there is no fault or negligence on Sinner's part for the double positivity to Clostebol".
Between the notification of the suspension in April and the ruling in August Sinner was able to play because he filed an urgent appeal bringing evidence of his innocence, an appeal that was accepted given the evidence in his favor, all those who complain of preferential treatment either did not file an appeal in time or did not have sufficient evidence to have it accepted.
The mistake, in any case not his, still cost him 400 ATP points and more than 300 thousand dollars, the prizes of Indian Wells.
This does not mean that he was at fault, but it is provided for by the rules when there is a positive even if it is not your fault and is independent of any disqualifications.
The facts that demonstrate his innocence:
- A billionth of Clostebol is equivalent to the tip of a teaspoon in an Olympic swimming pool, ridiculous to think that it is doping and not contamination.
- All tests before and after Indian Wells are negative, Sinner has done more than 20 in the last year, in addition to the biological passport that proves nothing strange.
- Clostebol was used by East German weight lifters in the 80s, since then many other better substances have been used for doping
- There have been several cases identical to Sinner's due to Trofodermin, those in which there was neither fault nor negligence had the same outcome as Sinner (for example the one mentioned by many Bortolotti), the difference is that not being famous and not having enemies they did not create a stir.
I know that like flat-earthers many will continue undaunted, fortunately they do not count for anything and will remain confined to some social media, I should say that I feel sorry for them but I would be lying.

How many excuses for Sinner, this is unbelievable. As far as I remember, tennis players who missed doping tests were suspended for a year or more. Troicki, for example, received a 16-month suspension because he couldn't give blood for a test, not because of the presence of any substance. If something similar were found with Medvedev or Djokovic, they would probably be publicly lynched and suspended for at least 5 years. Double standards as always...

Matt, Fritz is extremely soft. Look at him! There is no way he is putting the endurance/gym work required to be a world class tennis player. No muscle definition anywhere. Even Janik is starting to look more defined and he started out as a twig. I feel like he has coasted on his serve and reach and now it's showing. No way he will ever be great.

Twice like in two samples taken one week apart (and after that nothing, in other countless samples taken). Clostebol takes over 15 days to fully metabolize, make the math. And to gain any advantage (enhancement of performance) he should have taken a million times the quantity found for over 6 months.
