Located in the heart of the Californian High Desert and founded by legendary producer, songwriter and musician Dave Catching, Rancho de la Luna is home to many iconic recordings by Iggy Pop, Arctic Monkeys, Queens of the Stone Age and many more of the most influential rock acts.
One of the studio´s beloved centerpieces is a C. Bechstein Pianino 10, built in Berlin in 1904, which can be heard on pretty much every session ever recorded at the Rancho de la Luna.

I'm currently mixing a song by Jordan Gruver performed on this very piano during our recording sessions at Rancho last September when Chunk was but a mere pup. It's a beautiful pillowy piano that almost sounds like it's been prepared with felt dampeners. It has a really intimate sound.

My mostly-beagley mutt's name is Mercy, but she usually goes by Chunkalunk. 🩷😁Ben's description of playing that piano was perfect... I had a huge, ancient upright w/chipped ivory keys when I was growing up,my parents split up and sold the piano my 1st yr away at college. It took me back there. 🩷 Thank y'alls for making this and for so much of the music I love. 💜

Dave is cool, but Jesse is certifiable and obnoxious. He and Chris Goss are goosesteppers. Kinda sad.
