As a jigging man myself, this is one of the most informative / instructional videos on jigging I have ever seen. If I haven't watched it 10 times, I haven't watched it once, and I've been fishing for 50 years now and it takes a lot to get me to watch any video more than a couple of times. Doug covers everything possible in the world of jigging. Line selection, knot selection, lure selection, jig head selection and sizes to use, and rod and reel selection, and most important of all his technique that he has perfected over decades of trial and error. It doesn't matter if you are jigging for saugeye's in Ohio, or largemouth bass down in Florida, this man post real world results on a group that we share DAILY! And you will be doing yourself a favor if you like to jig fish like I do by watching this video in it's entirety... I can assure you of that!!

Ok.. We are trying this. We have small saugeye recently stocked in a couple of local lakes in OK. We usually catch them on crappie jigs ( chartruese) while fishing for Sandies

Good ol loop knot will also work really well for any jig type fishing. The zoom mini fluke is also a great option to the Powerbait smelt minnows. Want the best contact to your line use 8-10lb braid main line to a 6ft to 8ft 8-10 lb flouro leader you can feel even the smallest of jig heads. Doug is the man when it comes to saugeye though!

I'll be fishing during the white bass spawn and pulling in a fish a minute. Others are maybe a fish every 5 minutes. People ask me what I am using and some time it is just a bear jig head as the fish have pulled the jig off the hook and I was to lazy to replace it. It is not the lure it is just I sight fish and cast into the pool where the fish are schooled up. I lost my tube jig on fish number 20 so I just through the bear jig head just as an experiment and brought in another 80 fish.

I see you going out a lot in the mornings from north bank. Been wanting to see if it was possible for a charter for my brother and myself. We fish the lake at times,3 to 4 times a week. Like the video a lot. Keep it up.

You can message Doug directly on Facebook messenger to ask about a trip. He doesn’t have a UA-cam channel. He has me record his seminars for him sometimes and we are supposed to do a video from the boat sometime soon.

@@tpkrobbyrobz don't have a Facebook account, don't want one. Do have a gmail. Is there any other way? I'm sure I will see him at the boat ramp, will try to talk to him then I guess.

Jigs with power bait or live bait is best because they smell it when they run up on jig. They bite better at night a long the rocky or sandy banks. Stick baits work but they cost to much money to throw away when the jigs work great.

Just wondering if you are still catfishing Robert? I noticed you haven’t had any videos this summer. I just recently started fishing Hoover for blues.
