Taking out of the fact that Greg is playing and that he can make everything sound good, this is one of the best new Les Pauls I have ever heard. Sounds almost as good as the originals. Love the looks as well. That flame between tiger and quilted. Man beautiful and sounding great. Wet dream. BTW TM makes magic guitars. Aged or not way he paints them and chooses the once he works on is definitely black magic.
i hope he has all the settings at neutral on his amp. i just want to hear the colors of the guitar settings themselves. also what kind of tone it has with buzz saw distortion
Lighting plus a great player....... Need to work on the price a bit though. $6k seems a bit more reasonable considering what PRS produces at the $3600 price point. I bought my 1998 R6 for around $3200, which after playing it seems like a great value.
Ah, brother mansquatch... The correct representation of the cotton constructed cloth garment you have donned...A Canadian Tuxedo. Whilst I am a fan of the quite fetching offering from the custom shop, it is beyond the means of a simple mansquatch such as myself. As I am already in possession of two Gibson Les Pauls ( a '17 wine faded T and a '59 Bastard - new neck in '80, pots/cap last year, hardware in '94, but original body/pups restained somewhere around '77ish. Bought it in '81 ) of widely differing vintages, plus other 6 string wonders, I fear that my much better 3/4 would skin me alive ( and I have good reason to believe and fear such an act ).
I don't believe it's Midnight Rambler. Different key, but the same basic chord progression. The riffing at 1:48 sounded like Sympathy for the Devil for a sec though.
If there’s a perfect guitar for me, it’s this one. The top is so incredible! But I feel like this guitar with these pickups, this wiring, maybe with different neck sizes & any burst to choose from, should be The Les Paul Standard. And they should keep it like that for always and at a reasonable price. Gibson would sell more than they could keep up with. Imagine knowing every Les Paul Standard will always be perfect from here on out.
You're not wrong. But that's not their business model. With the scarcity of good materials, it makes better sense to sell one guitar for 10 grand instead of two guitars for 5 grand each. Same amount of labor, twice the margin.
I feel like going on about how historically accurate plastics being the least important thing to the guitar, and blah blah. But I won’t, lol, nice guitar and nice demo guys, maybe someday....
Sven Vandermaas Their guitar division is profitable. Their financial problems are not related with guitars... Anyhow, there are 5k-6k Les Pauls out there... just choose the right one for you.
Its insane pricing yes and yes you’ll never catch me paying that for a guitar, but when you compare what this model is trying to be compared to THAT price tag, it pretty much checks out. We live in a time where a replica of a burst can fetch these prices lol.
10K, and they're sold out. They can't keep the damned things in stock. This isn't why Henry had problems, it was because of the cash drain from "Gibson the lifestyle company". Quality control, though, was definitely a huge issue with the guitar business. Check out the new stuff they've announced since the restructure. I have one of them, and holy crap it's amazing. They are coming back, and I couldn't be happier.
I paid around $2450 (traded at least) for my R8. I also tried a true historic r9 that was 7k or so. That true historic was by far the monster that all others will be judged, lol. Worth every penny, though I didn’t have those pennies. My R8 is close with Lollar Imperials over the burstbuckers it came with.
Great tone, ridiculously exaggerated top. Select a good Custom Shop Lester and give it to one of the good makeover shops out there, and you will have a nicer looking, much more authentic, equally sounding one, with 3 grand saved. I never got the point about the Murphy thing.
That lighting really accentuates the top. Greg's playing really accentuates the guitar's sound.

Holy Moses, that top is something else!
very nice indeed, thank you kind Sir!...
Man Greg that amp sounds fantastic!

A great guitar and a Great player!
i am so digging the tones from that amp!
Now I understand why my soul was enticed.
Yes! Great tone!!!
That's one heckua guitar. And for 10K, it damned well ought to be.
not worth it obviously
My god the flame on that is beautiful 🤯 Can you dig it?
Damn that's a gorgeous top... the guitar is pretty nice too 😉
What a beast! The guitar is pretty cool too.
I've renamed my Wildwood Guitars sub channel to "Greg's Infinite Riff Library Reference".
Yesss!!! Led Zeppelin
faaaawk!!! that is the best sounding Les Paul I have ever heard!!! damn what alchemy is this?!?!?!?!

THE TABLE!!!!!!
Brilliant playing and guitar aswelllllllllllll
There are just some things that only LPs can do. ❤️ but let me find the 10-11k I need for this one.
Just so you know ... I'll be copying that opening chord progression ... damn it is nice!
The thing most people forget is that you can play any genre on a LesPaul.
Well, technically you could play instrumental surf music on a Les Paul, but it would be tough without a tremolo bar.
Will these guitars go up in value over time? What is so different about your custom wound pickups?

Could someone please get those guys a softbox for the lighting?
Great Guitar and Playing.
What riff is Greg playing at 1:10, I know I've heard that before (and not just Greg's demos)?
Bits of Midnight Rambler, I do believe.
Great song the Stones

Still love him but liked his tone a lot better through the Smallbox.
I don't even like the tone of this guitar but I watched the entire video because, Greg
That top...🤤
I feel like going on about how historically accurate plastics being the least important thing to the guitar, and blah blah. But I won’t, lol, nice guitar and nice demo guys, maybe someday....
6:36 Please what is the song!!!
Sounds great. Be careful playing too much Zeppelin or they’ll make you take the video down! Nice playing as always.
10k for a Les Paul and we still wonder why Gibson had problems. I’m sure if they’d cost you 5-6k they still make good money.

Florian Späth 250.00 in 1959 is 10000.00 today so it cost the same

Did you heard the Steve Vai reference in the octave passage?
Beeeeeutifull....... Make a nice coffee table!
Tom Murphy! One hella great finish master.
Check Greg Kock play SN: 91306 pre Tom Murphy right here:

Master guitar noodler that Greg Koch - makes them all sound good does he. And he loves every one of them🎸
that guitar top makes my guitar look like a wet chip wrapper
Haha lol, it is beautiful
@Florian Späth Falsch! :P
GET RID OF THE SNARK! Lovely playing
sounded dirty guhvnas ish
Vibrant top, dead tone. Not all LP's are created equal.
Does anyone else think Greg is depressed?
