I’m actually knitting with some Drops Fabel now. I like it just fine. My favorite sock yarn is Bergere deFrance Goomy, it is also hard to come by and only in a few colors. Regia and Opal is great sock yarn but getting up there in price. As far as hand dyed yarn for socks, I think is is beautiful but personally can not wear $30 on my feet.
I love Regia and Opal, but those are rare splurges for me.

I like your socks. Since I am german living in Germany I buy a lot of Regia and Schachenmeyer sockyarn. But my very favorite is Opal. It is the best. Also Aldi has sockyarn sometimes. Comes in a 4skein pack once a year. 2 skeins solid colour and 2 skeins are matching stripes.

I always seems to get the best bang for my buck from the cheaper sock yarns. They hold up so well and I am not easy on my hand knitted socks. I haven't tried Drops yet but certainly will.
I love the bright colours of your socks especially the reds and pinks . For me it's scarves rather than socks. I look for different patterns on You Tube. The Knit with Me lady is very good and the more complicated the pattern the better I like it 😍
I love Drops Fabel, as well as their other yarns. Drops Nord is a very good option too if you easily get cold feet because alpaca is a very warm yarn.
All drops yarn are very good value for money.
I made my first pair of socks with drops fabel ( self striping, color tex mex) and I was very proud of them 😍
I also like jawol by Lang yarn an super soxxs by lang yarn (one 100g skein per pair) and bamboo by rico design (100g skein also). I don't know if they are available in the US . I buy them at my local yarn shop : Lil Weasel in Paris.
Lol I also mindless crochet! I make crochet blankets from huge quantities of the cheapest yarns I can get hold off. Socks you are making are awesome! X

I agree with you, Drops Fabel is great value, pretty, workhorse. In UK we have Zigzag by King Cole, it's my favourite, Drops Fabel my 2nd choice . Unfortunately we dont have Patons Kroy here, it looks like a lovely affordable yarn. I have to budget cause lm a single Mama of 4. Love Fabel xx

How do these socks wear? Is it as durable as kroy yarn? I mostly use Kroy since I find the socks really last a good time, but I do find Kroy a bit thicker yarn then I want.
Ice yarns, in Turkey do some cheap sock yarn. I got some and it worked out at £4.40 a 100g ball with the shipping cost. Not sure what the shipping would be to the US though.
Can I make matching socks with Drops Fabel? I watched some videos and some people say that I can't?
Have you tried HOBBII sock yarn ? I have used their sock yarn and it is inexpensive and self striping. I'm not sure how many color ways they have. I believe that they are located in Norway... But awesome prices on all yarns 😊
